i hear whitemages cant solo very well.
this is kinda true. But I have a lvl60 whm/war friend who solos Ts, and VTs with his npc friend. Takes him forever tho, hawhawhaw! (he's a very good player and invest a lot of gil in his gear ^.-b its all player skill, i guess your average whm wouldn't last too long; i sure wouldn't)

but due to lack of lowbies whitemage would be a good choice cuz it would be easier to get a group, no?
i don't think this is true anymore. There are relatively few completely-new-players to the game. Most of the people going through the lower stages are on their 2nd or 3rd jobs, or playing on second chars, so the WHM to WAR ratio is somewhat more balanced now a'days. At least on Fairy Server.
heart If you don't like playing a job there's no way you'll be able to stick it out to lvl75.
Always remember that one of the great virtues of FFXI is that you can actually change jobs XD ~ and if you level either whm or rdm to 75 then you're gonna have to lvl the other to 37 ANYWAY for subjobs, so you might as well try em both out ^.-b
(PS WHM gets so much better once you get Regen ^^)
