The sega genesis was a cool system that could have had better games, but it really didn't. Does any one know why? I loved Shinobi and Sonic but there were very few games besides these that I find enjoyable. what happened? Also discuss about these related Genesis topics... arrow Your personal favourite game? And Why? arrow What did the Sega Genesis do well? arrow Where did the Sega Genesis go wrong? arrow Anything else related to Sega Genesis! So go ahead and speak away...

I am not too sure cause we(my brother and I) never had the Sega Genesis or the Super Nintendo(thanks parents!!). But weren't most games made for both systems? sweatdrop

I had a Genesis most of the 16 bit era, it did have alot of good games Chipp, the only games that didnt really make it on could possibly be because of graphical limitations or Nintendo had some sort of exclusive deal (which Sega had a few of their own as well). Genesis however later found a way to add more horsepower with the 32X and Sega CD but not too many games were made for those either....at least in the US. Japan got twice as much games for those sub-consoles than we did, mostly because Sega USA was mostly focused on American gamers and what they would like which is ironic because alot of the games they didnt green-light over here would have rocked, plus wtf do 40-50 year old people know what kids like or don't? neutral

That does make sense, thanks for clearing the confusion Jin.
Sonic was made on other platforms but not Shinobi, at least not until the PS2 I believe. Older people don't know much which is why we put them in a room all alone with a little radio and sunflower seeds! blaugh

Eh don't joke around too much, that IS mostly the plan wink Especially when the generation running game companies and politics surrounding them, I'm talking about Lieberman, Hillary Clinton, and Jackass Thompson mad When they retire it'll be adult diapers, little analog radios, and pre-chewed food for them rofl They don't get the good stuff like other old people for their crimes on humanity mad

I'm counting on it rofl BTW I got some good news. There are indy game makers still making games for the Genesis. This one independent company released a previously Taiwan-Only game called "Beggar Prince" but it was sold out very fast and now is possibly expensive to get second hand from somebody else ._. http://www.gooddealgames.com has managed to finish up some previously un-released games for the Sega CD as well 3nodding

Alot of people do wink I got a Sega CDX though I'm thinking of getting a JVC X'Eye instead (it has independent AV output like 3 separate ones instead of the one hole like the others, so I can get slightly better picture and sound, plus I can upgrade it to S-Video easily thanks to this mail-in guy in Canada).

If you want it just for that just get Sonic Mega Collection on PS2, and Virtua Fighter for PC (though 32X IS pretty pimp razz ) The only complaint I got about Mega Collection is you gotta press R3 (right thumbstick) to zoom in when you're playing the games. when you start there's a black box surrounding the game surprised
