Here is a question as old as time. This has been asked for over 60 years. Which is better, Gibson or Fender? It can drive a man crazy, let alone decide his fate. Well, mabey not quite that serious, but it is a difficult thing to answer.

personally? i have a fender, but if i had the choice and the monie i would get a gibson, just because i like distortion, and its just better with dual humbuckers, but i would buy a fender on a budget. plus, i am on a budget, but after fair and i sell my pig for 4-h i will hopefully buy a les paul, sg, firebird, or explorer, unless i decide to get the fender tele 72 deluxe. ><
see what i mean? it will drive you mad. >J<

fender, then gibson. i will likely never own a gibson, but hopefully a epi LP soon. i choose most brands over squire.

Gibson over Epi, Epi over Fender, Fender over Squier. Hell, ANYTHING over Squier.

I would go Fender over Gibson, mainly because Fenders are so much cheaper, and you don't have to baby them so much like you have to with Gibsons. But on the other hand, I would go Epiphone over Squier.

I do ESPs myself... but if I had to pick between gibson and fender... it's hard! burning_eyes I probably would go for Fender, because the neck pickup feels so damn warm, and the twang of the bridge pick up (I'm talking of a three single coil pickups mind you) is soo damn cool/sexy. But Les Pauls are so full of bass! They're beautiful sounding guitars, as well as really suitable for metal AND blues. It's like having to choose between a Stevie Ray Vaughn Fender strat or a 1968 Les Paul BB King Black Beauty. HELL WHAT DO YOU DO?!?!?!

well nothing, if you put some emg's, or hot rodded fender pickups on them. sustain is ok, but uless done, they sound like crap. kramer focuses sound much better, and you can get new one's from amazone for 90 after shiping.

Nothing is wrong with them per se. However, for my stage of playing, I find a Squier somewhat inadequate. Don't take it as I have something against Stratocasters, because I honestly love them, and I even use a Fender Stratocaster as my main guitar. But about Squiers, it is that their hardware and general quality is what one would call "below par" for a post-beginner. However, Squiers are perfectly fine and well suited for a beginner.

i think i prefer gibsons. I like their tone and i prefer their necks over the fender necks. Of course, Fenders are also really nice, i just prefer gibson 3nodding

Definitely Gibson, I got an epiphone X-Plorer ******** its a hot guitar. I dont even care that its not gibson great pickups nice color bodys great ands got great feel but ya, If i could have 2 i would get a fender mustang and a Gibson X-Plorer i used to own a squier tele(we switched pickups and tricvked it out it was hot. Either of the two brandes is a good choice.

A shot to the foot. None of the above but if I had to I'd say Gibson.
