Okay since i was 10 my mum gave me 'talks' on how i have to like guys. As i got older she noticed that i only had posters of girls on my walls, also i became more curiosous about girls. Anyway i don't really tell my mum much about myself as she's a negatice person and i don't like her oppinion on things. Not to long ago we were in the car and dad was joking around with me saying if i liked girls, i said 'well yes but i also like guys so i'm bi' mum turned around and goes 'there's no such thing as being bi you either like guys or girls' she got that off a t.v show the day before. I laughed cause if i had to choose i would say that i liked girls and my mum is very homophobic but only towards me.

Hmm. There is such thing as being bi.
There's also such thing as being irrational and unaccepting. Poor you.

Awe, that sucks. Maybe she will open her mind.
Bleh, I say don't tell her, well at least not now. She'll come around later, I hope.

Someone said that to me once. I don't talk to him anymore, it got me quite upset. No offence to your mom or anything, but people like that need to be kicked. In the butt. Repeatedly. redface

I believe being bi can be temporarily, since most bi people end up marrying the opposite sex and have a heterosexual relationship for most of their life, or end up having a slightly higher preference for the same-sex, and live off random hookups (and thus, they see themselves as open-minded homosexuals).

Bi-sexuals are selfish ... a little from column 'A' and a little from column 'B' it's very greedy. rofl
Anyways ... NOPE bi-sexuals don't exsist ... with less than 3% of Americans identifying themselves as Homosexuals ... bi-sexuals simply don't have a percentage ... as researchers think they are in a developmental stage into being either gay or straight.
Now for my opinion ... who gives a ******** about the numbers ... those are the studies that base your mothers believes ... that your either one or the other. Until there are conclusive studies done on bisexuality and Dr. Phil spouts off about on his show will your mum even consider changing her beliefs.
Now as for being truly bi-sexual would cause quite a problem in a monogamous relationship ... and most people don't aren't capable of hurting that many people emotionally ... you will eventually have to make the choice ... and THUS be classified by the numbers as gay or straight.
From personal experiance ... I came out first as bi-sexual (for like a week)but hadn't even kissed a boy ... it was my way of easing myself into being a Lesbian ... and made the transition ... so as not being a bi-sexual myself I cannot truly comment on the experiance that you are going through. Just ramble on and on about silly crap.

I kinda agree with ur mom cos for a lot of people being bi is a just the stage between deciding which way you swing. Nearly all the bi people i know (or knew ) decided they were either straight or fully fledged queer within a few months, or years for a couple of them. So my opinion is that being bi is usually just a comfortable stage to stay whist u decide which one you like better boys or girls. However there are some genuine bi people but not very many. Give it a few years and you may have changed your mind. You might decide that u r gay or straight. but whatever you decide ur moms a b***h for critisizing ur sexuality!
