Shira wandered through the bone littered path that was the Elephant Graveyard, travelling far she needed a place to stay. When she arrived at teh Pride Lands, animals growled and glared, she returned them. To the south lands, she seemed to get herself into more trouble. Was there something wrong with her? No, it was defiantly something wrong with them, hyenas were perfection amongst the gods themselves. The female's pelt stood out rather well in the dark, bleek graveyard, it was rather strange. So far she had not seen anything here taht would interject her decision of staying. If there was, she would do what she did to those who did before. Kill them. A lioness and a buffalo, fools they were.

Carefully, she entered a part of the territory that seemed to be used, the ground was warm from use and the scent of others lingered in the air, was this some sort of pack or refugee? Who was here? Carefully, she put his nose low to the ground and followed the scents in all directions, eventually ending up where she began. Growling softly, the golden hyena sat down with a huff.

"Stupid graveyard."

Yakuti came upon the older hyena after following her for about a minute, it seemed like she was lost. "Actually, I quite like it." He said plesantly, walking up to her confidantly. "Want some help getting around here? I know this place pretty well, if you need help, just ask." He said with a smile.

He was slightly shocked when he first saw her, her fur was so bright and stood out so much in the graveyard, but that wasn't to say that his own fur wasn't bright, but still, he had never seen so much yellow in one spot before.

"The name's Yakuti, its a pleasure to meet you, what would you like to be called?"

Shira jerked her head around with a snarl in her throat. A blue hyena had decided to sneak up on her, what sort of fool would do such a thing to a grown scavenger? Apparently, him.

"Who are you, what do you want?" she snarled, getting up facing her. However, her mood changed as teh hyena continued to speak. He seemed to show no harm, actually quite nice. A little too nice for a hyena to be. To Shira, hyenas were suppose to be ruthless, mean, cruel, and vindictive, but here this hyena was being nice to her, strange.

"Taashira'kikuto, Shira. Now, Yakuti, what is it that you want. I can find my way around here just fine. I will be staying her." She smirked and evil smirk, "unless you object little one."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 28, 2006 2:38 pm

Yakuti only smiled as she snarled at him, it was a good thing if they were mean, though mostly if they were mean to lions. "Object? On the contrary miss Shira, Its a wonderful thing that you want to live here, I was just wondering if you wanted to join my pack, or more accurately, Mafa's pack. I have a feeling you two would get along quite well." He said with a smile.

He wasn't too fond of being called little, but he could deal with it, he had a hunch that if this female joined the pack, she would be one of the strongest members. Not as strong as Mafa of course, but she looked strong, healthy, not to mention she didn't seem to mind being mean to other things. That would make it easier for her, it had been extrememly difficult for Yakuti to start hating things...

"If you would like to join you ought to come with me, Mafa's den is this way." He said, looking off into the distance and then back at Shira, but not moving just in case she needed some more pursuading.

"This may be interesting, if not amusing." he murred softly, a hint of darkness in her voice. "So this Mafa, she is the leader around here? Tell me more about her perhaps and then we can see if we are fit to call each other 'friends'." she said as she walked beside him, she was not about to be behind a juvenile any time soon unless they were her own, and the chances of her having pups were slim given the looks of teh males she have seen.

"As for you, mister, how did you get involved in all this?" slowly, she put her nose against his fur, one wiff, and instantly pulled away with a scowl. "...traitor..." she whispered under her voice.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 28, 2006 3:01 pm

Yakuti smiled and walked alongside her, though he honestly doubted that Mafa would call anyone a 'friend', he did think they had similar personalities. "Yes, Mafa is in charge here, she is extremely strong, anybody who challenges her probably has a death wish." He said, thinking of other ways to describe the alpha.

"She enjoys killing lions, especially when they intrude on our territory, I myself enjoy getting rid of the beasts." He said with a slightly malicious grin. "Basically the entire pack wants to get all the lions off our turf."

"I just kind of came here and became part of the pack when I was younger." He said with a shrug, that really was the story, not long or complicated, just kind of... a coincidence.

... Traitor? He had barely heard the word, but he understood what she said. He thought about it for a moment but didn't say anything, he didn't want to press the matter, whatever he smelled like he could wash off or cover up with other smells later.

"Ah, a strong leader than, I hope she has her own death wish, because I think I may like one." she grinned, thinking of the day when the two would have a little spar or perhaps a challenge for Alpha. Nah, she was not one to do such a demanding job. She was content with her currently life, regardless of teh occasional empty feeling.

"Oh yes, the blood shed. Why kill those who enter our territory? I kill all who dare oppose my decision, I kill all who I see must die. You, my friend, need to start sharing the same intrest if you wish to make it around here when I take your rank from you." Shira smirked, a toothy grin.

A frown masked her face as she continued to walk along side him, "That scent...I have smelt it many times before when I slaughtered those kind of scum. Why you were around one or two is of your own, if you wish to keep it a secret, stick with me, my scent should overpower their faint ones. I just hoped you killed them off so no problems will arise." she spoke, a slight concern for the juvenile. "Those scum are nothing but trouble....I can tell you that without a doubt." her ears flicking back to her skull for a second before pulling back to a perk.

Now...what was he doing with...

Yakuti smirked, nobody who knew Mafa would challenge her for a good long while, he knew it was unlikely that he himself would challenge her at all, he had a great respect for her.

"You? Take my rank from me?" He asked, nearly bursting out in anger. "I'll have you know I make it here just fine, I nearly killed a lion when I was just a pup." He said proudly, and it was true, though he left out the part about Tibuka helping for the moment. "Besides, it takes some hard work to rise in the ranks around here, I already recruit new members more than any other member I know, aside from Mafa." He said, and it was true. So far he had gotten credit for two recruits, and Shira would increase his count by one.

"Um..." He said in an unsure voice, it would seem she knew he had been with wild dogs recently, no matter though, he could mask the scent soon. "Yeah, there's one sure thing, you won't be seeing them, ever." He said with a malicious grin, trying to play as if he had done something horrible to them. He didn't think this hyena was ever going to see Jamaa or any of the other wild dogs he had met.

Shira smirked, "This Mafa sounds interesting, perhaps I may like it around here after all. This female must be the best if she needs no male to rule this place with, then again who needs males when females can do just as much, if not more, than them. No offense, my blue friend."

"Ranks, recruits, no matter, just wait and see, if I do manage to get a rank below you, I will never bend to you whatsoever." she replied, keeping her head up, tall and strong, "just hope you don't mind the demands of a grown female." Shira added with a soft huff.

"I am sure you did, otherwise I would have to seek them out and kill them myself." she answered, continuing her walking. Where the hell is this juvenile taking her? Does a conversation carry this long compared to the walk to the leader's den? Maybe it did, who knew, they probably won't be there for another day or something. This graveyard was pretty vast, and if the hyena knew it well, then maybe he is a higher rank around here.

The blue hyena said nothing aside from "None taken." To her comments about females, he knew full well they were equal, but he wasn't about to admit that they were better.

"I don't expect you to bend to me, but I'll have you know I won't be bending to you either," He said proudly, walking with an equally confidant posture. "Nor your demands, I won't be hunting for you, though I should expect you to be able to do that yourself. Get used to rabbits and mice, cuz there isn't much else around here."

"Oh! I had almost forgotten, its not uncommon for me to smell like wild dog, mostly because we have a slave here in the pack." He said, just now coming up with a better excuse. "A wild dog pup, she's Mafa's slave and she's kind of been around me a lot, can't get away from the thing." He said untruthfully, though he had seen the pup recently.

They had walked quite a ways and the elephant skull that Mafa called home was getting nearer, "Here we are." He said, walking up to the side of the skull and calling out respectfully.

"Mafa? Are you there? Theres someone here who is interested in joining the pack, she would like to meet you."

Mafa's ears slowly perked to the voice of a stranger, and Yakuti, coming toward her den. The large female lugged herself up, yawning strongly. She had just been torn from one of the deepest sleeps she had been able to achieve in a long time. With a grumble, the alpha shook out her dust laden fur and stood up tall. She heard the voices draw nearer, and then Yakuti's young voice echo into her den. At his call, she emerged from her den, looking quite intimidating. She held her head high, sizing up this new prospectice member.

"Well well, what did the hyena drag in?"

Mafa's tone sneered with sarcasm as her cold, aqua eyes scanned this adult female. Instantly, Mafa felt her hackles rise, giving her an even larger appearance. This strange female could possibly be a challange to her position, not that it was smart to pick fights with the alpha of a pack at all. Mafa had this rank because she was the best, and nothing, repeat, nothing, could take her down.

(Do you have a picture of Shira?)

Shira sneered a bit at the Alpha female. Big, strong, intimidating, that is if Shira was not the same. She saw some of herself staring back at her from Mafa. This would be an interesting stay. It would seem the two of them interrupted something, was she to apologize to win her favor? Nah.

"Well, it depends, which hyena are you talking about?"

A playful yet evil smirk curled on her maw as she stared back at the alpha. She held her head high, her tail rised, yet not flagged. Mafa was a sight, there was a fine female that gave others a good name. Females were just as good as male, if not better.

"But yes, I do wish to stay here, if not just for the night, it seems this place may be a little interesting...."

Carefully, her blue eyes fell back down to the hyena beside her with a playful grin. However, Shira's glance returned to the alpha's. It was a stupid idea to stare into an Alpha's eyes, then again, Shira often had stupid ideas and usually saw them threw if something were to arise.

Two words, not. good. Yakuti bowed his head to Mafa, "Um... This is Shira..." He said, glaring at the golden female, she obviously didn't know how things worked around here and it would all end in a fight if she wasn't careful, he knew Mafa liked respect, and this one was clearly not showing it.

If it did turn to a fight he would fight with Mafa of course, but he doubted she would need any help, he shuddered to think what a full grown female hyena could do to him in a fight though... Yakuti looked sternly at Shira, this would either be a good first impression, showing some serious backbone, or a very bad one, opposing Mafa... He hoped it was the first one.

"So anyway, you want in the pack or not?" He asked the golden hyena, "From what you said earlier it sounded like you wanted to stay more than one night."

Mada immediately sensed that this female was trying to size her up. Not going to work. Growling lightly, Mafa padded slowly out and away from her den, circling around Yakuti and coming to a stop near him and the female. Shira eh? She didn't seem like a hyena Mafa wanted around, but she did seem like the type that would give a lion her time of day. Catching the female's gaze, Mafa snarled,

"You need to know who's who before I let you into my pack. Of course this is quite an interesting pack, much more interesting than all the other lion s**t out there"

Mafa spat on the ground as she spoke, holding back that infamous seething anger, damn lions, even just thinking about them made her mad. The alpha took another step, her eyes dancing with sarcasm,

"You sure you have what it takes to make it among our ranks, Shira? You seem a bit... Soft, around the edges"

Shira kept her evil smirk, blue eyes following the dark female as she moved. She turned slightly to her when she stood beside her first encounter here of the Elephant Graveyard Pack. She looked rather powerful, possibly more than herself. This alpha must've been a strong one, to rule an entire pack by herself, no male needed to aid her, only to serve her. Or at least, not a male around other than her blue friend. Strange, a hynea pup so young already introduced into the life of a scavenger without parents?

"Who's to know but the Alpha and the Heir, and if I am wrong, then you two must be the only ones I need to know. And lions, wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards, there is no difference, at least five of each have fallen to my wrath in my life time."

She replied, puffing her chest, proud of her 'feat and smiled boldly.

"Though, be as it may, I am not stupid enough to challenge the Alpha unless I am pushed. Besides, I am not one to order around many."

A soft snarl escaped her maw, her eyes narrowing.

"What makes you think I am not. If I wandered around and only have this little one to find, I think you would need me, Mafa. Judging me? Heh, judge me when I show you I can do something around here. I will hunt and I will provide for some of the members, if not all. Besides, I will have blue-butt here to help me if I ever need it."

She was purely overconfident of her abilities. Usually the reason why those preditors attacked her.
