She'd never been in this room before and by the looks of it, it wasn't exactly the place she'd be the most keen to stumble into. Video games? An arcade of sorts, nope, that wasn't her niche, of course wondering into rooms at random was. So the madam found herself in a new room, at a new time, and no she had most definiately not learned her lesson. One shouldn't wonder around if one didn't know what to expect. And what little she did know of the island and its inhabitants wasn't very good. But, she couldn't stay a hermit forever, no matter how much she was starting to become. So she spent the day merely walking....and somehow ended up here.

She stopped slightly when she entered, noting that the room was currently vacant. Sighing a bit she headed towards the pool table, she knew the game, though hadn't played in ages. In fact the last time she had played was when her sister was still alive.

Boredom was one of the things that usually compelled Seth to move, and right now was no different. He had been puzzling away in his duplex for over a day now, pondering a decent and solid means of escape off the island. He had taken the phone off the hook while in his planning mood, not wanting to be disturbed. He didn't care if Sabin was planning to ring him or not any more, and had decided that the man was a lying b*****d who wasn't worth listening to.After not really coming up with anything useful so far, he had decided to put it to rest for the time being. But it would not be forgotten.

Seth wandered out of his Duplex, making sure the door was firmly shut before he walked away from it, heading down the well worn path to the village, his laptop under one arm. He had more reason to protect it now than ever, aside from preventing it from being stolen. It contained some of his vague escape plan ideas now, and if they fell into the wrong hands, he was more than likely done for.

He headed into the village, frowning at how dead it was. This seemed to be a regular occurance, but Seth did not know why. Perhaps there were not many people here? He wandered into the Recreational room area he'd glanced at a few times in passing, but this was his first time in here. He was surprised to find another person inside. A female at that, too.

"Ah, G'day there." He said as he entered the room, setting his laptop down on one of the free chairs nearby the door. "I've never seen you around here before. How long have you been here?"

"Probably not long..." He thought to himself. She still looked quite human. And an interesting one at that. "Ah, nice clothes..." He mumbled slightly, feeling a little awkward. He never really had many dealings with women, and it was probably quite obvious.

Maryke had heard him before he even entered the room, that was the one, and only perk of her latest change. The lemur ears caught sounds she'd never dreamed she'd be able to hear. So when he did enter the room she was already looking up and over at him, a pool stick in hand about to break.

"Hey," she said, not pleasantly but not harshly either. There was more apathetic tones to her voice so however he took it was fine by her. "Been here a while actually, more'n a couple of weeks, more then I'd like to," she added waving to her ruffed ears and the silky white fur on her chest. At the next statement she couldn't help but chuckle slightly, "Clothes are real...unless you're referring to these," she said waving to the pale blue tank and white shorts she had on. "Then thanks..."

"The fluff is real?" Seth frowned as he picked up on her apathetic tone. She sounded... bored? He hoped that was it. "Ah, too bad... I was wondering why you'd be wearning something warm like that in this evil hot weather."
He tried offering up conversation, saying the first thing that came into his head.
"Er, you've been here for more than a few weeks? Ever thought about escaping? I'm plotting a bit of that myself, but," He shrugged. "Nothing really groundbreaking has come to mind yet."

"It's real," she nodded, going back to her breaking. She said nothing to his next statement and actually broke. She watched the balls hit one another and roll across the pool table. It wasn't as smooth as a break as she would have liked, but she hadn't played in a while and she had managed to get a red 3 in so it wasn't a total loss.

She looked back over at him and shook her head. "I haven't tried per se.... I don't need to try, I need a phone. Just one phone call and I'm golden, but as I'm sure you guessed." She grinned a little, "No phones...." She held the pool stick in hand and then ticked her eyes back to the board, searching for the next solid color to hit in.

"I don't really see how anyone has a hope to get off this island...not individually at least," she said hitting a blue stripe ten to get in a yellow 1. "But, if you're that motivated maybe I can lend an ear..." She nodded her head to the nearby rack of pool sticks hanging on the wall. "Play me?"

Seth stood a few meters away from the pool table and watched as he heard the 'clack'ing noise of the pool balls striking together as Maryke broke their formation. He peered over to have a look, grinning at how far they had travelled.
"You must play this game a bit." Seth noted. "I've seen some pretty bloody bad breaks in my time, and that is definitely not one of them." He moved to stand beside the table, curious enough to watch the lady and see how good she was at the game.

"Ah, yes, no phones..." He sighed in response to the comment. "There's no internet connection here either. And apparently, not even cable television. If there was at least an internet connection of any kind, you could use one of those fancy phone plugins that are available on some internet services. That would almost make up for it..."

He grinned as Maryke answered his question on escaping. "I've thought of nothing groundbreaking yet, but if you're interested in lending a hand to any plot I can devise, you're more than welcome to come join in. My intention is to just... get out of here somehow. If we can overpower the helicopter pilot guy and fly the thing off the island, we've basically done it right there."

He glanced over at the pool sticks.
"Ah yeah, I'll play, why not. Though I'll have to warn you now, I'm not that great." He nodded, moving away to select a pool stick from the wall. "So are you going for the solid or striped ones?"

She listened to him, a bit tiredly, feeling like the proverbial clock had begun to wind down every since she had stepped foot on this hellhole island. She looked down at the pooltable and then back at him, only a glimmer of a smile shown on her lips. "I do okay..."

She blinked once at his next round of talking. It made absolutely no sense to her, and she didn't really use the internet much anyway. She had one email account, MarJimenez@yahoo.com, but for the most part Alexa, the woman she had pretty much taken in as a co-madam did all the things related to that. It was safe to say the madam was technologically retarded. So his words went above her head.

"I don't know how well it'd work to overpower anyone....I've heard we have chips in her head," she said remembering what someone had told her, "And by the looks of it, it doesn't look pleasant." Briefly she thought about what had happened with Billy, but there was no way in hell she wanted to think about that, so instantly the thoughts were pushed from her mind.

She watched him remove a pool stick and waved towards the table, where two solids were missing. "M'solids, you're stripes."

"Chips in who's neck?" Seth glanced up at her, his eyebrows raised in his curiousity. "You mean like those microchips they put in cats and dogs when they register them with the pound?"
"Stripes, ey... I can deal with that." He tossed the pool cue between his hands for a moment, testing the weight of it. When he seemed satisfied, he stepped back towards the table, taking a shot at the nearest striped ball. It bounced off the corner pocket and rolled away, knocking into a few other balls on the table.

"Bugger," Seth muttered, standing upright once more. "As you can see, I am certainly no pool shark."

He returned his attention to the female, his attention on her furry attributes longer than it should have been. Sid had warned him about this woman before.

"Is your name Roxanne by any chance?"

She shrugged, figuring she couldn't really explain the interworkings behind the chips even if she tried. "Don't know," she said eyeing the new formation the balls were now in after he hit them. "Can't really say what...it just....shocks you if you do something stupid." She thought again of Billy and what had occured between them letting a visible shudder course through her body. "Like attacking another islander for instance," she muttered in an undertone.

She waved off his admitting to being a poor pool player and then raised her eyebrows at the name. Roxanne....? Had he gotten her confused or was that some kind of a cheap pickup line? She hadn't know anyone on the island by that name and the only refrence she could make.....ohhh...how very interesting. Wasn't that a Police song, about a lowly street walker. Good song, shitty notion to have on her. She could guess who dubbed her that, but then it really could be mistaken identity. Either/or she let it pass.

"Nope, It's Maryke," she said, casting him a sidelong glance before going back to the pool table.

"That doesn't sound very pleasant..." Seth muttered, reaching behind his head to try and feel for anything. "I'll be sure not to attack anybody though. I don't really have a reason to do that anyway, so I figure I'm safe there."
"Ah sorry..." He apologised, looking a little sheepish upon hearing her announce her real name. "Maryke... that's quite an unusual name. I can't say I've heard it before. Still, it's not bad. My name is Seth by the way." He paused, frowning. "Erm, if you were curious to know, that is..."

He moved to the end of the table, grabbing some chalk to dust up the end of his cue. "Your move."

She wasn't really in the talkative mood. Of course she was curious about all the islanders, she couldn't really help that. People intruiged her, not in the 'on her back' way of course, but in general. So she stayed because quite simply, it took the sting away. Everything she did seemed to be related to that direct motivation. Forget...just forget. Where she was, WHAT she was....it was a living hell. But you needed to do things to keep your mind away or it would consume you. That much she knew.

"It is," she agreed, referring to her name. She would say that it was a Hispanic name, since she obviously was, but the sad fact was that she really didn't know for sure. All she knew was that her given name was bestowed upon her by her dear ole dad. In other words a son of a b***h who left as soon as he found out her mother was pregnant. She sighed. Maybe if she ever got out of this hellisland, she'd look into it.

"It's fine Seth," she said quickly at his nervousness. "That would have been my next question..."

She let her hazel eyes tick back to the pool table and then concentrated before shooting.....and missing. She cursed silently under her breath, staring at the balls on the table. She moved her eyes upwards and back to him, staring at him once and before the instant passed she muttered a quick, "I'm going to take off now..."

She didn't give him more then a few beats to respond. Why should she? It wasn't her style. Instead she merely swept out of the room, pushing the pool stick into his chest as she did.
