My wife was on my laptop about two weeks ago and downloaded some really odd (and useless) software that ran a flawed InstallShield routine, so she tried to finish the installation herself, which she has NO IDEA how to do. So, in the midst of following some obscure internet guide, she manages to delete something in the hidden/protected files of Windows, causing the internet to die and all networking to be inoperable. I've been really busy with paperwork at the lab (we're getting a grant worth half a million dollars), so I had to send my computer to this local technology place (I don't like the large CompUSA-ish companies). I got it back recently and it is back to its previous functionality.
Needless to say, her account got downgraded from Admin to User.
Has anyone else been having tech issues lately?
