I loved Hughes too, why do the nice guys have to go?
In the movie he wasn't that nice, though, he was a little scary.

man i miss him, too. i cried during that ep. And it made me even sadder when they decided to hide it from the elrics! crying gonk I was so happy when he came back! blaugh No one can forget his humor and lobve!!

I think Maes died to but the viewers back in our place, to remind us that this is a story of alchemy and war so anything can happen.
And also to get Roy more motivated to carry out his goal.

Yeah,I missed that too.I cried as I saw her daughter didnt knew anything about her father dying by that moment in his burial and when Maes' spirit waved last goodbye to ED as they took their trip.

He had a daugter...and a wife. HE HAD A FAMILY FOR GODSAKES! All I can say is that Hughs is one of the many examples of why life isn't fair.

It's kinda funny. All of my sister's fave characters always die. Like Hugues.. (spoiler form ep. 51[i think] { ed } and some other characters from diff books and movies. It's kinda creepy.....

I think she might mean Alter!Hughes from the movie becuase as fart as i know in the anime Hughes stays dead, which is annoyong>< The whole reason i hate Envy is becuase he killed Hughes.
