Karma wandered around the forest humming a bright tune. She hadn't seen Tawny or any other paes in a long time. She wondered why, only briefly, Fate would decided when and where she met other paes. Fate was always guiding her.

Saffron plunged deep into the forest, still a little miffed about the events at the house regarding his sister and her apparent new boyfriend. Hmmph, how come she got to run off and do whatever she wanted while he was stuck at home with his mother? In fact, they were the same age! Why did she get to be an adult before him? It wasn't fair!
Growling at a bush that apparently attracted his rage, he took a half-hearted swat at it. Maybe when he was an adult they'd stop treating him like a child. Then again, he'd taken the first step already, taking off and leaving the house like that. Maybe they'd start respecting him when they saw that he could take care of himself.
He blinked, an ear twitching suddenly as he caught a strange sound on the wind. It sounded sorta'...musical. Looking around curiously, he took a chance and called out, "Hello? Is someone out there?"

Karma stopped as she heard a voice. Fate had answered her prayers, to meet some one. "Yes..." She answered her question and then found herself staring at a teen boy angel...well, angel with demon attributes. "I'm Karma."

Saffron stepped back in surprise as he suddenly found himself face-to-face with a female Fae. "Err...hi there?" He blinked, stepping forward again. "I'm Saffron," he replied automatically, passively noting that this was the first time he'd ever met another Pae outside of his own family. He forced a smile, feeling very awkward considering his lack of social skills.

Karma smiled happily, "It's nice to meet you!" She looked around wondering what the other pae had been doing. "I knew Fate would guide me in the right direction." Fate was good and guiding her.

Saffron frowned in confusion, looking around. There was another one around here somewhere? "Ooookay... Who's Fate?" he finally asked, curious. His tail swished back and forth, brushing against the leaves of a tall fern-like plant before he blushed slightly and moved.

Karma's eyes widened at the question. "You don't know who Fate is?" This shouldn't be shocking, no one really knew of her, but Karma. "She guides me, whenever something happens she's there." Good or bad, Fate was what helped Karma learn about life.

Saffron nodded slowly. "Okay, so is she around here somewhere? Could I meet her?" He assumed Fate was Karma's mother by her description. Afterall, who else would always be there?
He thought of his own mother with a strange mixture of feelings. Some fondness, some bitterness...and some sadness. What was she thinking right now? He'd just up and left without telling her where he was going or even that he was leaving at all. He couldn't recall a moment of his childhood when his mother hadn't been there, whether he wanted her there or not. He nearly chuckled at the thought. As annoyed as he had gotten with her constant 'mothering' at times, deep down he knew she meant well. Didn't mean he couldn't be a little outwardly irritated though, did it?

"Oh course she's here." Karma said with a nod. "She's with me, you and everyone. She's everywhere." Karma giggled, he sure didn't know much did he? "You can't meet her really, but she knows that you want to."

"I see..." This was making less and less sense to the poor boy, but he pretended to understand as to not look stupid. Maybe he could move the conversation along to something else instead.
Scratching his head, Saffron's hand bumped his halo, tilting it sideways for a moment. "So, what are you doing out here in the forest today? Anything in particular?" The tiny bat-like wings near his ears fluttered as his halo re-settled itself over his head.

Karma watched him with a grin, "Oh, nothing really. I like to wander and see where I end up. I usually end up somewhere I was meant to be." She sat down under a tree and then looked back at Saffron, "What about you. What are you doing out here?"

"I had to get out of the house before I went crazy," he muttered half to himself, settling down on the ground nearby with a chuckle. Leaning back against a tree trunk, he shrugged slightly, speaking normally again. "Well, I suppose I'm doing something similar...even if this is the first time I've done so. I wanted to get out and see something new. Get away from the familiar and boring." He grinned back at Karma, making a sweeping gesture with his hand. "And so...here I am!"

"Those all sounds like good reasons. I like to wander, I have no real home." She tried living with Joi a long while back, but it didn't work. She wondered how Joi was and then shrugged it off. Fate would take care of her. "So, have you liked your adventure so far?"

Saffron shrugged, looking thoughtful. "It's been pretty nice so far to be out of the house and on my own. Plus, I already met someone new." He laughed, leaning back against the tree. Even if she seemed to have her quirks regarding this mysterious Fate person, Karma certainly seemed nice enough. And this was better than being smothered by his mother, Takeko.
"You have no home?" he questioned, just picking up on what she'd said. "Then where do you stay? Do you just wander all the time?" He couldn't imagine not having a home. He'd lived by the river in his parents' home for as long as he could remember.

Karma smiled polietly and then picked up a blade of grass. She played with it in her hads as she talked to Saffron. "Yeah, I just sleep where I find a nice place. There are lots of nice places when you look." She looked at the blade of grass and then put it back on the ground, it needed to be there as things were always needed where they were.
