This wasn't good. It was enough that wailings of another toddler was already resounding through her ears. Mereneth just had to be in one of his worst moods today. He bawled, hitting Melody's chest with his small clenched fists.

"Make...sun...hide! Sun...go!"

The redhead winced, not at his tiny blows, but at his incessant screaming. Her head was already throbbing from the crazy heat the sun was radiating. She did admit that Mereneth had every reason to cry, and she had picked an extremely bad day to go out. With people shooting deathly stares at her, she walked to the other young lady and sat next to her.

"You know, being a parent is hard," she remarked.

Mereneth's beating stopped as he turned to look at the blond haired girl. He gave little sniffles, rubbing at his eyes as a look of puzzlement came over his face. This girl was weird. And perhaps irritating too. He stared at her with a mixture of dislike and mischeif. If she did anything that annoyed him, he'd set her on fire.He thought with a little smirk coming over his chubby face.

Exhaling in relief as the tiny blows stopped, Melody gave the young lady a gentle smile. "Mereneth," she replied, adjusting his position in her arms so that he faced outwards.

Curious aquamarine orbs observed the dragonfly-like wings on the blond girl's head, "And who may this little lady be?"

Mereneth immediately blinked as the first flower hit him. Honestly, he'd never come across this kind of rude girl before! All the girls at home were perfect ladies...well, almost. It wasn't long till the dandelion turned into ash onto his lap and he pushed it away from him, the black specks falling into the grass.

Melody winced in displeasure at this, but she didn't try to stop it; he didn't exactly hurt Aurelius by the way. He did need to practise his power properly. An eye was kept keenly on the red haired boy as she settled him on the grass too, deciding not to get into the toddler's fight until neccessary.

"I understand," she replied gently, pushing her long hair into a ponytail. Every dandelion threw at his face promptly burst into fire and fell to the ground as ash. "Do forgive Mereneth's showing off though." At this, the little boy immediately turned and threw his guardian a dirty look.

"Fy-er." Mereneth replied defiantly, sticking his nose in the air to show his prowess. The dandelion cannon stopped and the little boy was pleased that his plan worked.

"They're kids, this is...well, normal for them," Melody laughed weakly, "with the exception of a few powers though." She tried not to laugh at the expression on Mereneth's face; he looked haughty, yet so adorably humorous as well.

Since Aurelius didn't seem to want to pay any attention to him, Mereneth just shrugged and turned back to Melody. "No fun." he stated simply, pointing at the girl.

"Not...exactly..."Melody smiled, "But then, I've never really did mother anyone before I came to Gaia. I've always liked to play with kids though." she added, turning her attention to the redheaded boy.

"Play nice." she said firmly, having eye contact with Mereneth.

Mereneth immediately reacted as heheard Riku's shout. He glared at the rock for a moment then turned to scrutinise Aurelius, a look of dislike on his face. How dare she do that? Fine. She wanted to play dirty? He'd show how what it was like to play dirty! Concentrating, an orb of fire appeared in his right palm, to a size of a ping pong ball. Sticking out his tongue at her, he flung it, aiming for her hair.

Melody winced as the rock zoomed through the air; luckily it didn't hit Mereneth. But, knowing Mereneth... She bolted up from her seat just as the fireball was flung. Her powers reached out to halt the fire in mid air and it grew smaller, finally dropping to the grass an inch away from Aurelius. It flickered for a moment before going out at a breath of wind.

Exhaling after the danger was over, Melody mutterred, "Now I know why they made me his guardian." She rushed over to Mereneth and scooped him up wordlessly, wondering whether to scold him for his hasty act, or to blame Aurelius for triggering it in the first place.

Melody's head drooped, under the pretence of checking Mereneth's head to see if the rock had hit him after all. "So am I." she said hastily." I mean, Mereneth has used his power before, but I didn't know he'd attack..." Realised that she was babbling, she proceeded to apologise to...um... "Sorry, what is your name?" she laughed nervously.

Mereneth glared back at the blond girl, folding his arms and sticking out his tongue to her. She should have been burnt, the little stuck up...angry thoughts were running in her head. He'd bet that his mother would scold him for using his power when it was clearly her fault.
