I'm attempting to get into the Youth For Understanding program. my sensei mentioned the program to us and I was hooked. I'm trying for the 9 month program. I was wondering if anyone has used YFU before. Do you know how many people get accepted to a scholarship? Also just what is it like? How do you manage everything? What do you do about credits? Also any other good exchange programs woud be appreciated!

I did the 6 week program- but I have friends on the 9 month one as well.
It's an amazing program. Schoarship wise(if it's the same for the 6 week program) take pride in yourself, and make sure they're well written. Get your application in early as well- so you'll have more scholarship chances.
For me- it was amazing. I didn't do much site seeing or group activities- I went to school and hung around with my family. my host family was one of the nicest families I've ever met...
And the English teachers will be quite amazing as well. PM me if you want more specific information.
