Kanto VR Rooms

The VR Rooms are a series of Virtual Reality rooms in the Training Hall that students can use. The students can program the normally blank and empty rooms to become the ideal training grounds for the honing of their skills down to the finest details. Or, if they're not in the mood for training, they can create a serene spot for studying or chillaxin'. And if they're that homesick they could even recreate their house and live there, or an environment suitable for their needs. Really, it's up to the students. What's great about the VR Rooms are that any occupied rooms will be barred to other students, unless the occupant allows them to enter. That way your best friend won't walk in on you prancing around in a field with unicorns and butterflies. sweatdrop

As Razzer walked about on the grounds, he overheard two students chattering about the Training Hall.

"Didja hear, Ern?"
"Wazzat?"
"Them androids finally finished working on that wing in the Training Hall."
"The one that's been under contruction for the longest time?"
"Yep. 'Parently there's some of them fancy VR rooms there."

VR Rooms, eh? Razzer thought to himself quietly. I should check them out...

Not long later Razzer was entering the Training Hall. A sign in the lobby pointed down a previously unnoticed hallway. The hall wasn't very long compared to the rest in Ria - most of which seemed to stretch on to infinity. White doors were scattered in the hallway, and a monitor was inset on the wall next to each door. The monitors were currently blank, but Razzer assumed that they would light up and display... something once the room was in use. Sliding his ID Card through the lock on one of the doors, Razzer pushed the door open and looked around. The room was actually smaller than his dormatory room, and completely blank except for a control panel on the wall just inside the room. There was a slot for Razzer's ID Card, so he inserted it and the panel flickered to life.

".............
Welcome to Kanto VR Room 1.
............
Searching ID Card. Please wait.
............
No previous VR Data collected.
Would you like to view instructions on how to create a VR room?"

Razzer entered "Yes" into the panel. A moment later a detailed description on how to design a room came up.

A little while later the mage had his VR Room created, after meticulously fine-tuning and designing it. His VR room was a courtyard, rather large and quite scenic. The grass on the ground was barely visible under the thorough coating of cherry blossom petals, the trees from which they came littered the courtyard. A cobblestone pathway led under an authentic-looking archway and towards the center of the courtyard. There the pathway split into two and snaked around a large pond, on the surface of which drifted several stray petals. The cherry trees were in full bloom, and now and then a petal would fall off the tree's branches and drift lazily towards the ground.

At the beginning of the cobblestone pathway was the entrance to a traditional japanese dojo-like area. The dojo itself wasn't anything special, it had bamboo carpets and katanas and boken on racks hanging on the wall. Thin wooden pillars supported the ceiling, and also provided a good target for sword practice. Razzer needed some - he couldn't always rely on his water manipulation techniques. A door on one side of the room led off to a hallway that housed a simple japanese bedroom, bathroom, and a meditation chamber - in case Razzer ever had the desire to sleep here instead of his dorm.

Standing in the courtyard, Razzer whistled. It was beautiful, and perfect. He might actually live here instead of his dorm.

Ashori entered the building quietly, setting a pale, clawed hand upon the door before slowly pushing it open. She didn't remember this place being around before, and now she had to visit it. She was wearing her black cloak, with the hood up so her face was hidden completely in shadow. From the small part in the front, one could see she was wearing a full, dark blue dress that fell to her ankles so her black boots were just barely revealed. There were two very slight buldges against her back, under the cloak and not noticable unless one looked very close.

She sighed quietly to herself, stepping inside the actual building. Then she paused, staring around curiously before starting down a hallway. She passed by several doors and then paused by one, smelling a fresh scent around it. Someone had gone in recently. So she set her hand upon the handle almost without thinking, trying to open it. But it didn't budge so she frowned slightly, taking a small step back and simply staring at it. Well.. what was she supposed to do now? She wasn't very big on... techonology. She didn't understand half the things she saw.

As Razzer began to sit on one of the petal-coated benches in the courtyard, he heard a loud beeping noise that made him stop. Frowning, he looked towards the edge of the courtyard where a white door had suddenly appeared. Next to the door, floating in midair, was the control panel. Crossing the courtyard Razzer examined the panel, on which a red light was flashing.

"...........
Student has attempted to enter Kanto VR Room 1.
...........
Allow Student entry? Y/N"

Cocking his head, Razzer pressed "Yes" and the lock on the door clicked. The door swung open, revealing the hallway. Standing in the hallway and looking baffled was a most interesting of students. The girl had deathly pale skin that looked as if it had never seen sunlight. She had blonde and black hair that covered most of her face. The one eye that Razzer saw was an angelic-blue tint, and was quite pretty.

"Er, can I help you?" Razzer asked. Who was this girl? Razzer supressed a shudder when he noticed the girl's long... threatening claws. What did she want?

Ashori stood staring at the door almost blankly for a few more seconds, and jumped as it suddenly clicked. Her pointed ears caught the sound and made it louder than it should've been. She stared a moment longer, eyes wide, and then blinked at the person who'd shown himself. She tilted her head to one side, shifting somewhat nervously in place as she tugged the cloak around herself. "U-um, I..." She trailed off, not sure what to say. Her gaze dropped to the ground. "...I'm sorry for interrupting," she mumbled. Her voice held a strangely musical tone, pleasant to listen to. "I just don't... know what this is..." She waved a pale, clawed hand half heartedly in the air, indicating their surroundings.

The girl uncomfortably adjusted her cloak. Mumbling an apology, she avoided Razzer's gaze and tried to stare a whole in the ground.

"I just don't... know what this is..." she muttered, waving her hand about. Her voice had a slightly musical sound, which greatly irritated Razzer.

"This is the Kanto VR Rooms." Razzer said irritably. "More specifically, this is my VR room you're trying to enter." he frowned as he watched a cherry blossom petal drift beside him, making a futile attempt to escape the room. As it reached the doorwar between the VR room and the hallway, it seemed to vanish in midair.

"So is there anything you wanted?" Razzer asked, not concealing his slight annoyance at the girl.

Ashori slowly looked back up at him, a frown upon her face now. "I said I was sorry," she muttered and then bit her lip, one long, white fang showing as she glanced towards the doorway. The petal caught her eye and she stared at it, jumping slightly as it disappeared. She gaped, mouth falling open slightly in shock. "Wha... where'd it go?!" she cried in alarm, eyes darting about. The right was still hidden under the black patch of hair, but the blue was in full sight. "What's a Kanto VR Room?" she continued uncertainly, staring back at him.

The girl apologised again, biting her lower lip. Razzer got a gleam of a white fang, but made nothing of it. He watched as her eye followed the petal, and she jumped when it vanished.

"Wha... where'd it go?!" she asked in alarm. Razzer opened his mouth to speak, but she added, "What's a Kanto VR Room?"

Sighing Razzer glanced behind him. He'd have to wait to sit and enjoy the beauty of his room, it was obvious this conversation with this girl would take a while.

"This room is a virtual reality room." he said in a tone that indicated that that bit of information was something everyone should know. "So that means everything in the room, excepting me of course, is fake. Virtual reality. That petal is part of the VR, so it's restricted to the room. If anything from the VR tries to leave, it can't."

As a demonstration Razzer stepped back and bent over, grabbing a fistful of petals. He launched them towards the doorway. They headed straight towards the girl's face, but vanished as they hit the divide between reality and VR.

"So is there any reason you're here, or is your sole purpose to distract me?" Razzer asked irritatedly.

['m sorry! My laptop broke and now I'm on the stupid home computer and it's hard to type on a regular keyboard. Dx]

Ashori watched the male quietly, waiting for a reply. When she recieved one, she blinked a few times in confusion, and a bit of pink spread across her cheeks. She was embarassed. He was making her feel stupid. It wasn't her falt her memory had been erased! Her eyes narrowed very slightly as she watched him. "Virtual reality..." she repeated quietly, as if testing out the word.

Her eyes followed as he retrieved the petals, and she just stared as he threw a fistful at her. Though, beneath the cover of her cloak, her hands tightened into fists. Something rustled against her cloak as well, the two slight buldges on her back shifting. She frowned again, staring at him. "I already told you... I was just wondering what this place was." Her quiet voice rose slightly, slipping almost to a hiss. She hadn't meant to bother him. Why was he being such a jerk about it?

"I already told you... I was just wondering what this place was." the girl said, her voice rising slightly. Razzer saw her tighten up slightly. He'd hit a nerve.

"Well, I've told you." Razzer replied. "So unless you're going to ask me another obvious question or something to that effect, do you mind?" He was getting slightly irritated now. This conversation had gone on long enough. He longed to just step back and ignore the girl, and go back to the serene tranquility of his VR room. But that would be a rude thing to do, so he figured he'd finish this conversation. Hopefully quickly.

Ashori stared at him, eyes narrowed and her fists still clenched. He was acting just like everyone else. She was always treated so rudely, it seemed. Was it because of her appearance? Was that it? She knew she'd interrupted, but she'd apologized, and she'd meant it, but he was still making fun of her. Or at least, it seemed to her that he was. He'd said it was an obvious question. Well, how was she supposed to know that?! "Well excuse me for not being up to date on the latest technology," she hissed.

She was probably overreacting, but she couldn't help it. Her fists tightened and something hit the inside of her cloak behind her, causing it to jerk out suddenly. The two buldges shifted again on her back, more noticably now, as if trying to free themselves from the cloak. Just for an instant, a red light flashed from beneath the patch of black hair, and she dropped her gaze to the ground. "Fine then," she muttered, still hissing with a half growl as well. "Go back to your stupid fake world."

Bang. Nerve two. Well, she is getting angry. Razzer thought, smiling on the inside.

"Well excuse me for not being up to date on the latest technology." she hissed, tightening up even further. Out of the corner of his eye, Razzer saw two bulges pulse on the back of her cloak. Wings? Or something else?

Curiosity got the better of him. Though it probably wouldn't be in his best interests, Razzer wanted to know what was under the cloak. Then, he saw it. A flash of red underneath her hair, where her other eye was.

"Fine then, go back to your stupid fake world." the girl said harshly.

"I'm not in tune with technology, but hell. Even I know what a VR room is." Razzer retorted, spitting on the ground next to him. He was drawing her out, and it seemed to be working.

Ashori stared at him in disbelief for a moment at his last comment, for a moment asking herself if he'd really said that. Then she snapped, lurching forward, her hand reaching for his neck to pin him against a wall. "Well I'm sorry I lost my ******** memory!!" she screamed, crimson eye flashing again. Her voice was a deep growl, completely opposite from what it had just been moments before. Her fangs were bared as she brought her face close to his, and her hand, the one that she'd not reached for him with, had small black sparks dancing across the surface. She was sick of it. How dare he make fun of her like that!

Razzer held himself back from laughing in her face. He could feel her breath against his face, and could see the obvious anger in her face. Perfectly baited...

He returned her glare for a few moments, before stepping back and gesturing towards the courtyard.

"Step in." he said. It wasn't a question. It was a demand. "If you plan to hit me, I'd much rather prefer to destroy my VR room as opposed to the entire building." Razzer turned his back to her and stepped further into the room. Would she hit him while his back was turned? He spat again. "And that's no way for a lady to talk."

Ashori glared at him, growling in her throat as he told her to come into the room. She hesitated, standing perfectly still for a few seconds before starting forward with a grunt. Her boots thudded against the floor with each heavy step and she finally paused again three feet into the room. Her eyes darted around, taking note of everything quickly, before she spun around to face him again.

She was still growling, almost unable to stop herself. A small, nagging voice was whispering into her ears, telling her to calm herself, but she ignored it, especially at the male's next comment. "I don't care," she snarled, narrowed eyes upon him.
