Yaku dug his claws into the small chest that his money was kept in. Lifting a small handful of coins he dropped them idly one by one, the cold metallic clinking music to his ears. His dead silvery-white eyes watched the crowd of drunken shu, laughing, dancing, and, in the darker corners, persuing less favorable activities for public viewing through a window high above them.
They were all morons. Slothful, lazy miscreants that disgusted him for their wanton ways and giggling hypocracies. They lived their lives as peaceful, law abiding citizens by day only to dip below the radar and into his subterranean black market world by night.
Anonymity was the key to the success of his speakeasy. For the right price, anyone could slip in undetected, their faces covered in shame by elaborate masks. Husbands and wives cheated on each other unknowingly as they sat mere yards from each other and older shu indulged their fantasies with the younger ones. Here no one was condemned for their vices be whatever they were, liquor, gambling, pleasures of the flesh. Yaku could care less. He provided their escape from reality, and they provided him with his means for living.
Dropping the remaining coins in his hand, he pushed himself up out of the leather seat he had been occupying with a grace befitting his cold, meticulous nature. Slamming the lid to the chest shut, he stowed it away and paused in front of a large mirror. Running a pitch black hand over his slicked back hair, he smirked and adjusted his black coat with a sharp tug.
His ever active mind had grown bored with the rotting sameness of the frivolity before him and he knew there was only one who could satisfy his need for variety. Out of all the female shu he knew to frequent his joint, she was different. She was cut of the same cloth and had become his eyes and ears in aiding him in his mischief, mayhem, and destruction. Opening the door to his office, he stepped out on the small landing and placed his dark hands on the railing as his eyes scanned the crowd for her. Spotting the lilac hued skin he sought, he smirked and slithered down the stairs to join the rest of the bottom feeders. Snaking his way through the crowd, he arrived and held a hand out to Uzi.
"Pardon, but she is needed," he said smoothly in an oily, deep voice to the shu she was chatting up.

Uzi looked up at the welcome voice and smirked.
"I do apologise Mr .... whatever your name is." She laughed waving her hand dissmissively. "But I have been called by a far more interesting conversationalist." Giving another amused laugh. She stood and took the hand of Yaku.
"I swear this place gets worse." She snorted once she was up, though not quite out of earshot. "You should be careful Yaku, I might have to start going to the more ... legal bars in the city."
Pausing on her pale pink heels for a moment she turned and snapped her fingers.
"Moll come on!" She said firmly. A moment later a panther like creature appeared by her side, yawning and rather annoyed at being woken up.

Yaku smirked at her rudeness towards the other shu. So refreshing, he thought as her slender hand slipped into his. Feigning insult to her threat, he arched a dark brow as he moved her hand to the crook of his arm.
"As if the company there would be any better," he smirked and waited when he felt her hesistate. He watched the creature that was never far from her side slink after its master and led the way back up the stairs to his office. Once the odd trio were inside, he shut the door and resumed his position overlooking the bar.
"Tell me something of interest. I grow weary of this place," he said with a deep sigh before turning to face her as he leaned back against his desk.

"Interest, in this dump of a city." She smirked. She took a seat on a black leather couch, crossing her legs at the knee and smoothing the silk of her dress ou the way so she could cross her leg at the knee. Moll flopped to the floor infront of her and resumed the sleep that she had been so rudely dragged from.
"All is bright and happy in Shutensa." She made a disgusted face and looked down to her lilac fingers. "Though, that little bit of magic I planted in Illia has been discovered. Moll tells me it is in Cephei. I have sensed its prescence here. Which is odd."

Yaku's pale eyes watched her movements, the way she sat, her hands sliding over the silk of her dress, the gartered thigh making its appearance through the slit. He lifted his eyes to hers and smirked at her repulsion. Her next words caused his brow to rise and he listened with great interest. They had placed this bit of dark magic in the city of light. A bit of tongue in cheek mayhem for any ususpecting little do gooder who could play the keys.
"So it is in two places at once?" he smirked, crossing his arms over his chest. "Perhaps the victim is on the move with it?" he suggested.

"No." Uzi said turning her red eyes up to him. "Well, not exactly." Thinking a moment she placed a hand on Moll's dark head and nodded.
"The magic is in Cephei, but there is a residue of it here. It comes and goes."
Watching him for a moment she smirked.
"So things could be fun. I traced it today, to a bar in the nicer part of town. A work of art actually, very beautiful and a charming young man behind the bar." She gave him a wry wink. "Maybe it is time we got to know our neighbours. I want to know how the magic became split and why on shutensa it is not working properly."

Yaku uncrossed his arms and clasped his hands together briefly before pushing himself away from his desk. He ran a clawed hand through his slick black hair and closed the short distance between them, careful of the beast at her feet. He held a hand out to her again and his smirk deepened.
"You have my undivided attention dollface," he smirked. He loved it when things went according to plan. Well... his plan. He loved it even more when things went awry and hopefully in their favor. "Shall we go take a look at this masterpiece?"

Uzi took his hand and smiled as she stood arranging her dress and slipping her arm through his. Yaku always did have a good sense of fun, her sense of fun.
"It isn't to far and it is such a nice evening." She laughed as though giving them an excuse to be going for a walk. "Moll, you stay here. Not that you had any intention of moving." She laughed again. She loved the beast dearly but its presence on the streets of th city would only make people nervous."

He smirked at her as she spoke and reached out for his hat as they passed by the coatrack by the door. They made their way unnoticed from the indulgent shus and out into the crisp evening air. He rather liked being outside. The air was free of smoke, heavy scents, and loud noise, all things he detested, but endured for the sake of a few pennies. Adjusting his black hat by pulling the brim down low over his forehead, he watched the legitimate shu world continue on, completely oblivious to the underworld that raged on just outside of its safe boundaries.
"The evening is quite lovely," he smirked, looking down at the beautiful accessory hooked so comfortably to him by their linked arms. "Hopefully that will be changing soon," he said as he allowed her to lead. "I am surprised that this magic was unleashed so soon. Though I suppose those lightbringers dig that sort of music."

Uzi smirked as they walked. Her footsteps echoing out into the night air.
"Maybe not light bringers." She said watching those around her with interest. Such pitiful beings, they really had no idea at what lurked the streets beside them. "Whoever it was must have been of a curious nature. Very curious." She smiled and took a happy breath. "Maybe we could use them. I do like a good victim." She laughed again and smiled up at him. "But, we shall see."

Yaku joined in her laughter, though it was far from a cheerful sound. He was highly intrigued to discover this anomaly. If this simple prank could affect this shu in such an odd way he could only imagine the fun they could have with them.
"I am certain we could find a way to use the poor sap for our means," he smirked.

"Mm, we could." Uzi almost sang, moving her feet in a couple of dance steps as they walked. "Though they will probably have friends." She smirked and moved back close to him. Trying to supress the urge to dance to the music of the establishments they passed by.
"Here it is!" She beamed pointing towards the brightly lit bar. "Aint it sweet, honey." She laughed again and withdrew her arm from his. walking up to one of the stained glass windows she traced her finger along it's lines.
"It's in there." She whispered, a full grin on her red lips.

Yaku watched Uzi with cold amusement as she fairly danced and sang in her excitement of the impending discovery. At her excited exclamation, his dead eyes were raised to peer at the colorful establishment from under the brim of his hat. He smirked at her question and watched her as she traced one of the stained glass windows. He looked from her to the front entrance and could hear music and laughter coming from inside. Reaching out, he grabbed Uzi's hand and led her over to the entrance. Slipping inside, they were shown to a table and he looked around at all of the colorful shu. He watched the bar flair of the ruby haired shu with mild interest, then turned his eyes to the young pale girl on the stage who was preforming. Her voice was sweet and made him want to vomit, but he merely swallowed and looked over at Uzi.
"Can you feel where it is coming from?" he asked, his eyes studying each of the shu around them.

Uzi looked around the beautiful bar with interest, her eyes falling on the landlord.
"I wish it was coming from hot stuff over there." She said, her res eyes following him as he worked. "I'd have him for breakfast any day." She gave another of her famous laughs and turned her attention back to Yaku, her expression now serious as she used her powers.
"The girl, the one on the stage. It's inside her, running through her veins." A dark smile snaked across her lips. "The curious musician who bit off more than she could chew." She pouted. "I love it!"

Yaku followed her hungry eyes over to the ruby haired shu and smirked at her words. He looked back at her when she laughed and leaned forward, clasping his hands together on the table as she pointed out the singer as the source. His smirk deepened and his mind started to work. They needed to find out more about her, but judging by the adoring glances sent her way it seemed she held a certain power over these other shu.
"She's perfect," he smirked, looking at Uzi. "Look at them. Watch the way they watch her. She's got a power that I think would be most beneficial to us," he grinned a bit maliciously.

"The power of stupidity." Uzi snorted. "TO make people, males mainly by the looks of things, so stupid they'll believe and possibly follow her." Shrugging she sat back in her seat and allowed her eyes to rove the bar again.
"I quite like this place." She said with aproval. "Obviously it lacks a certain seedy sleazy that I love so much. but it is not bad."

He nodded in agreement with Uzi's musing and cupped the glass of water that had been set before them upon sitting between his hands. He glanced around at her approval and gave a snort of laughter and shake of his head.
"You would like a place like this. It suits your loud style," he smirked and took a sip of water. His eyes returned to the girl on the stage and he watched her for a moment longer.
"We need to find out more about this girl. How is it she is here, but the magic is in Cephei? Why hasn't its true properties been unleashed?" he said, looking at his cohort.

"Summer tiiiime, and the livin' aint easy." Uzi sang before adding a little laugh at the end. "Um, I don't think you are one to talk about loud style." She smirked eyeing his black and red co-ordination. "But don't worry baby." She said standing and taking his tie between her fingers. "You give me fever." Winking she turned to stalk off towards the bar, seating herself in an obvious position and waiting for the girl to finish. She usually came back to serving once she was done with her theatrics.

Yaku waited patiently for Uzi to answer him. He was more than used to her odd quirks and knew that her mind was working a lightspeed even if it appeared she was just an absolute loon. He smirked as she rose and his tie slipped through her fingers as she left to set herself up at the bar. He watched her appreciatively for a moment and then returned to observing the patrons around him, wondering what kind of mayhem he might be able to get away with in such close quarters.
Covet finished her set for the hour and showed her adoring regulars her appreciation with a brilliant smile and theatrical bow. Laughing she stepped off the stage and made her way towards the bar, pausing every so often to work her charms on a few of her more favored customers. She noticed the new face sitting alone. How could she not? He had a peculiar coloring with half his face black and the other bright red. Flashing him a bright smile of welcome, she slipped past him and stopped in front of another new shu, this one a lovely shade of light purple.
"Good evening," she smiled at her as she tied her bright violet apron around her waist. "Is there anything I could get you?" she asked her.

"Anything on the rocks." Uzi smirked eyeing the young girl carefully. It was definitely there. "I was wondering if you would be able to help me with something." Uzi watched the girl carefully, her poisonous smile growing. "Do you frequent Cephei often?" Yes she was being blatent but her cover story worked.

Covet smiled and immediately started preparing the drink, the ice clinking pleasantly in glass. Grabbing a bottle, she turned back and tilted her head to the side as she watched the amber liquid flow into the glass and arched a brow at the girl's opening statement. She looked up when she was done pouring and smiled at her question.
"Yes I do actually," she smiled and sent a glance over to Matador to make sure he was not within hearing.

Uzi smiled back to the girl. That had been easy enough.
"Ah, i thought I recognised you." She said with a smile swirling the glass around so that the ice clinked against the glass.
"I was wondering, do you know where I could find a buyer for this?" She reached into a beaded bag and produced a small statue. Having lurked around Veronica a few times she had noticed the girl collecting such trinkets. Maybe whatever she did with them in Cephei would be the answer to the mystery.

Again Covet's eyes slipped over to Matador, but quickly returned to the woman before her and the small icon she held in her hand. She eyed it for a moment, then looked up into her red eyes.
"If you would like, I could buy it off of you right here," she said, pretending to wipe the bar down so that she appeared busy.

"That would be good." She said with a smile, taking a sip of the strong drink and judging her stolen glances to her boss. "Though may I ask what you would do with such an item, and if possible how much you would give me for it?"
She crossed her leg at the knee and traced her finger around the rim of the glass.
"I am a business women too you know."

"I collect such things for a friend of mine. He has a fascination with the dark arts and unknown items," she replied. She peered at the small statue for another moment and looked up with what she considered to be a reasonable price. Mecca probably would have laughed at her for being generous, but then they both had their own ways of handling customers.
"If you are serious about selling it, it will have to wait till after the bar is closed," she smiled lightly.
