Username: Wrobelka
Who recruited you?: No one, Ad in forums

Name: Wrobelka Winomeskro (pronounced Vroobelka Vinomeskro)
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 142lbs

Race: Human
Social Class: Gyspy.. so, peasant?

Appearance: Wrobelka is the picture of a traditional Roma woman. Her hair is undyed ebony, and has been uncut all her life. It's kept clean, curled and scented because men pay more to watch girls dance when they smell like flowers. Her costume is ruffled and frilled at the hems, but cinched where it counts. Strings of coins and jewels spangle her layers and shawls, so that she clinks and jingles where she walks. Her skin is the color of cocoa, which she happens to have a bit of in her stock from trading with the Spanish Roma tribes in her travels. (She'll sell it to you for the right price) Her eyes are a tintless gray, matching her lids and lashes which are stained with coal so the whites of her eyes jump out and catch you. 'Belka' is not considered a thin stick of a woman, but her weight is distributed in her favor. She displays the curves and suppleness of a mature woman.

Personality: Wrobelka is quick witted and intelligent. She has used every manner of persuasion available in her life time in order to survive in her nomadic tribe. At times it seems like she is kind one moment and cold the next...for the moment you lose her interest, or she feels that you are of no use to her, she has no problem tossing you aside. That's not to say though that she won't appreciate idle chatter and interesting gossip. If she seems well off, it's only because she wears everything she has on her sleeves, literally... and the life of a Roma is tiring, so she enjoys the company of anyone who is willing to lend her any amusement.

Character flaws: Lady Winomeskro is an untrusting soul... probably because she herself is untrustworthy. It's not that she enjoys cheating, lying, and stealing, but that's how she gets by. And normally, her idea of exclusivity starts where the farthings end. (This mentality on top of a theif's reputation has caused her to be something of a loner among non-gypsies) She has her price after all, as does living life. Also, Belka is usually just hungry, which can dampen her mood, but incites a warm welcome for anyone who brings her food. Though one shoulnd't always count on that... she's unreliable at best.

Background: Her background spans the roads to Easter Europe. Her tribe orinated in the Urkrain when it split from older bloodlines, then migrated to Poland a few generations back. But as is common for her people they were cast out and Eastern Europe became less and less livable as predjudices ran higher. So her tribe up and moved to a place, they were told, Gypsies could... fit in. (Get away with more)

Skills: To be short, Wrobelka is very resourceful. She is percetive and persuasive, and unnervingly easy to talk to. She can spill promises to ease your troubles like a fountain, in a way that you'll believe her, until of course you notice how much that takes out of your pocket. The woman has also seen it all traveling the contenant and this has incited a keen sense of knowing her surroundings and situations. She's also a good entertainer, and a skilled musician.

Belongings: Her only belongings are what she carries with her. The wagon she owns is where she sleeps while she's unable to get back to her tribe before dark. It is also where she keeps her 'arsenal' of goods. Any kind of gadget, spice, potion, relic, book, you can imagine... or a substitute there for, will be waiting for you, at a price.

Character secrets: Most of her life is a secret to the 'unclean' people outside her tribe. Wrobelka isn't quick to open up... others tend to consider her a friend just because they've explained to her thier life's ailments, only to realize they don't know a thing about her. Generally, all Gypsy people keep this way, and only to themselves. They'd be tossed out if they ever revealed their real names, or divulged the true Gypsy language to the outsiders. (For character purposes, I'll reveal right now that there is nothing signifigant about Wrobelka that one should expect to come to the surface during play, aside from many generations' worth of oppression-induced bitterness)

Anything else? I think that's pretty much it for this girl...

RP Sample:

Wrobelka strolled along the edges of a busied market square. Her eyes glanced slowly from point to point, up at the tall buildings, to the wares of established vendors, and down at the strangely animated gadgets groups of children played with here and there. In her opinion, this city was well off, at least compared to the other worlds she'd seen in her travels. Instead of taking the dinge and grime of the city as a sign of uncleanliness, Wrobelka had the expreience to tell that factory towns, and industrial towns brought in the money. Generally, she was excited for the opportunity to prosper here, but at that specific point in time business at her own cart a few streets down in the eastern square was slow, and she'd left it for a cousin to watch over while she left in search of other prospects. If the money didn't come to you, you went and got the money.

Hers were also not the only eyes wandering about. And Wrobelka pretended not to notice, but she damn well did. The glares of unapproving mothers rushing their wide-eyed children along were the most common type of attention Wrobelka recieved. But on occasion, a gentleman would pass by, glancing with intrigue at the exotic vission she proved to be. It was this kind of look that tended to be the most lucrative. "Now... if only I could find one young enough". That was only a matter of time.

Within another minute or two, along walked a young man, giving her the same look. He could be no older than 20. As the neared each other walking by, he purposefully stared at his feet. Wrobelka took the opportunity to nudge into him.

"Oh... so sorry, sir" Her accented voice was low and sultry, her eyes flashing up at his.

"No trouble, madam" The man tried to rush his appology and go on his way, but Wrobelka took his wrist suddenly.

"Why sir! I have just seen something. In your eyes, they look so weary. Is something... troubling you?" Her tone changed to that of wonder, gravity, and genuine concern for him.

But the young man didn't outwardly appreciate a strange woman, a gypsy no less, holding on to his hand. He jerked his head around, seeing that no one had noticed them. "Madam, please its, its... perhaps it's not appropriate for a lady to be speaking with a stranger so openly"

"But I can see who you are... in your eyes. You want to be so kind, but you are afraid no? People do not take well to such kind men, yes? Please, let me tell you what else I see..." And she began to turn over his hand to look at his palm.

The gentleman was quite obviously shocked... how in the world did she know that about him? Was she really powerful enough to see such a thing by just glancing at his eyes. He suddenly felt a great heat on his neck as she ran her fingers across the skin of his palm, tracing the lines and cooing to herself in thought. He wanted very much to hear what else she had to say, but just then one of those unapproving mothers passed him on one side, and he remembered again that he was in public. He jerked his hand away.

"Forgive me, madam, I- I must... I must go on my way. Goodbye" He tipped his hat so quickly that it almost seemed as though he were merely waving a fly off it before he was gone.

"Szwinstwo." She cursed under her breathe when he was gone... "Hmf... ah well. Maybe is better that I will not see him again" and from out her other hand she produced a small coin purse that was hers now. She marched to the nearest bakery stand and bought a loaf of bread for herself and her cousin.

Hmm... teeny-tiny secret eh?

:::Rubs chin thoughtfully:::

Alright, how about this? Wrobelka has had a daughter... with a non-gypsy man. The baby was entirely unaccpetable to the tribe and Wrobelka was forced to put her in a foster home somewhere in another country. Her tribe threatened to expell her but let her stay, considering that being seperated from her first born child was enough punishment.

Yay. Finally, I'm not useless in the KP! xd

At first I was confused as to why you wanted me to come, D, but this character is amazing. The first time I read it through I kept thinking how it wouldn't fit in a school environment, but then I realized that it's exactly what we need!

She's not model-skinny, she doesn't have some soppy story about her parents dying, and she's just so likably original! I love it.

One thing, though: what is her reason for being at the University? (Just want it in the profile so other characters will know.)

Actually that's something I discussed with Dragostae before I pitched the character, mainly because I am new to your school setting and wasn't sure if it were possible to fit her in.

I read the main rooms and some side story/posts in the school forums and admittedly didn't feel like I would let my creativity blossom inside the school walls. I felt like this steam punk RP idea had a whole evolving cutlture to it, that the students and teachers wouldn't get to put into their stories because they were closed off to most of the world outside.

Then I decided to pitch Wrobelka. I asked if there was anyway she could be the type to walk around the grounds, and that anyone who at any moment felt like they wanted to get a little RPing in, could just come right up to her and let the games begin.

She has the capacity to bring in the outside exposure, and perhaps cause a little bit of fun and mischief along the way... but like you asked; why is Wrobelka at the school? She's not attending the school... she's looking for a place to pitch her cart and make some cash, and maybe meet some interesting people along the way. I hope that answers some questions.

I'm going to go ahead and approve you.

I'll get your thread up on the front page after this. Let me know if there's anything I need to know about your character that the students and faculty would need to know.

Sorry. I didn't mean to sound like I thought she'd be attending the school. I just wanted other people to know why some random lady was selling stuff around the school. xd People tend to get fidgety when they don't know what's going on.

I wholeheartedly approve of this profile. -applauds-
