Hey guys. I decided that MUG was obviously a bit too inactive so I wanna pull that out and have some discussions related to Islamic information and quotes!

9/26 - Calling Another Muslim an Unbeliever

Sources
I got inspired to make this thread from a book that I have at home. It's called A Gift For Muslim Women. Of course the book is directed towards women of Islam, but can be for men also.

The book is by Maulana Ashiq Elahi Madani if anyone is interested. I highly recommend getting this book for your daughter (if you have one) or any other woman who you might think is interested.

Other sources will be listed at the end of each post of the quote. If I cannot find anything in the book, then I will most likely be getting my information from Sunni Path.

Request
If you would like some certain information on a topic, feel free to request it in this thread. Use the form below:

Quote:

Requesting? What you want to know about.
Why? Little info as to why you're interested.

If you don't want to request something infront of others, you can always PM me the form.

Request things that are PG-13. If I feel that what you have chosen does not comply with the PG-13 rule, then I'll tell you. You will probably get it through PM instead.

Why?!
This is the month of Ramadan where Muslims are supposed to be fasting and getting closer to Islam or Allah.

I feel as if some Muslims are neglecting their basic duties or ignoring some guidelines that Islam recommends you follow.

I also would like to have a nice discussion on these topics. Plus, MUG needs to be pulled out of the inactive-ness.

Calling a Muslim an Unbeliever

Calling another Muslim wicked, an unbeliever, or the enemy of Allah is completely prohibited in Islam no matter how bad the Muslim is. It is not up to you to decide who is or isn't certain things, that is only Allah's decision.

Another word for an unbeliever would be 'Kafir'.

Quote:
Hazrat Abu Zar reported: "The Messenger of Allah warned: 'whoso called a man an unbeliever or called him 'O Allah's enemy' and he is not in fact so, these words will rebound on him who uttered them."
(Mishkaat ul Masabih, p. 411, with reference to Bukhari and Muslim)

Explanation:
This Hadees prohibits this reviling of a Muslim as an 'unbeliever' or 'Allah's enemy'. In another tradition it is observed: "When a man calls anyone 'wicked' or 'pagon' and he is not so in fact, these words will rebound on the man who has said them"
(Bukhari)

The Messenger of Allah adopted a unique method of forbidding this practice. He warned: "When you call a Muslim 'pagan' or 'enemy of Alalh' and he is in fact no so, these words will rebound on him who uttered them." Many men and woman in a fit of fury dub each other as 'pagan' or 'enemy of Allah'. This act carried heavy penalty. The point is that everybody needs to exercise strict control on the tongue. The slightest slip of the tongue makes the largest difference quite unexpectedly. You must understand it clearly.

From A Gift for Muslim Women by Maulana Ashiq Elahi Madani.

Why did I pick this as the first quote? Because of personal experiences and also, anger does not justify calling other Muslims kafirs/unbelievers and even for a stupid reason such as "I think it's funny. XDD" or "I wanna see you get angry. XDD" Not cool.

Discuss.

I totally agree with this. I mean, we cannot judge people's true intentions, and we shouldn't try.

Generally, calling other Muslims kafirs even if they have done some wrong in life, isn't allowed.

But what would the punishment be if a Muslim calls another Muslim a kafir out of anger or because they just wanna see the other Muslim get pissed off?

Either way, hurting a Muslim is also haraam.

That is why (as I've read) people should be asking Allah for forgiveness. We're humans, we make mistakes, and sometimes we miss prayer or forget things.

Anyways, Innocent Passion, do you wanna request something about the next topic?

EDIT: Such as on marriage, kids, divorce, behaviour, clothes, etc? You can be specific so I know exactly what you want. XD
