I am planning on going away to college in spring. If any of you remember some of my posts, you know I have a daugher. I plan on moving away to go to college, mostly to get some real life experiance, since my b/f and I had a baby right out of high school, and moved in together. I will be going to school for art and design, so this will be a good time to work on Lolita related fashion designs and stuff, maybe submit some? Well anyway, my baby will be staying home with her daddy while I am away, I will visit weekends and holidays, I dont plan on going to far away..
Stay lolita in college! Do you think it is possible? I know there is a lot more freedom of dress in college than in High School, if any of you have gone to college, or plan on going, what do you think we can go to stay lolita in college?

I will be going to college in a year, so I'll be interested in what others say.
Since I'm homeschooled I rarely get out of the house, except for ballet classes everyday (which fills my schedule), but I cannot wear lolita to ballet class. So I almost never get a chance to wear lolita. I think going to college will be fun, I will have a reason to dress up because I'll have classes besides my ballet lessons (boring stuff as well as fun stuff like french, design, ect.), though I will be going to college mainly to get a degree in dance.

If your doing art then be carefull!! You don't want those lovely lolita clothes to get dirty!!
I'm currently doing photography, and so far i havn't had the guts to wear my gear to class...i'm scared i'm going to stain it!! Meybe you should only wear it to lecture classes only and meybe invest in an apron?

first of all, good for you for going to college! alot of young mothers don't. >:
I think that alot of people in college will not care...in high school, people are so critical of others, but in college there are a bunch of people from all over, so you may even find lolita friends! biggrin good luck at college dear, I know you can do it! ^_______^ V
I plan to stay lolita in college; I'm not gonna stop just because I'm out of high school, hell, I can finally afford it now!

I go to a community college right now myself as well. I would wear more lolita cloths but I don't own as much and since I still leave near parents I hear them complain if I wear somthing out of the ordinary. But I have promised myself that once I up my wardrobe I plan on wearing more lolita cloths. I think it will probably be esay for you to get along with other people if you are going to a big school smaller ones tend to be more like high school since high school grads come here first. You have to cope with a lot of imature behavior farr more then you would like to. But most bigger schools are more mature and becase there is more people they don't seem to give a crap what a certain indvisual does. My school shares campus space with an all girls artsy college, right up the road and I see girls dressing in all kinds of things..just being more experessive and no gives them hardly any notice..and there are a lot of people at that school that really push for things like lolita to get bigger in the U.S. so hopefully you incourage the fashion of lolita in America as well. Good luck with you schooling.

I go to art school. you can totally get away with dressing any way you want here. There are plenty of kids that dress at least a little lolita.
There are also tons of kids who walk around dressed like they're going to an anime convention with naruto headbands and goggles and stuff.
There's a couple of kids that randomly will dress up like Jack Sparrow and walk around. It's pretty awesome.
So, in conclusion, at least at my school, you can wear lolita.

Wearing Lolita outfits is pretty easy here on campus-- most people just attribute you to a geek group and let it slide. Especially at this time of year, since it is geek week. Wearing a Lolita outfit in my classes isn't quite so easy, though-- my professors are all pretty close to the students and like to sort of rib on them. My main professor has teased me a few times about arm warmers [did you hurt yourself!?], leg warmers [look! A pony!] and socks [Jesus Christ, did you steal those from the Wicked Witch?], but I just tease him right back and all is well!
I've never had but one student respond badly, and I didn't take her opinion as one of much weight. She said "God, look how skanky!" because I had fishnet under socks under leg warmers. She, meanwhile, had holes in her jeans at her thighs, a** and hips, so I just smiled and went back to eating my lunch.
