my band got second in our first competition and first place in the one we did yesterday. how are your bands doing?

well our first competitoin was supposed to be saturday in louisville kentucky, but it was rained out. so we played for the judges in a high school after traveling for like 6 hours and that was it. lol so we just hung out at a mall and our hotek the rest of the trip ^^

that sucks. we lucked out, there was a 70% chance of rain for our second show, but it never rained

Our first contest is this friday, and we don't have all of are drill learned. So we are all going to die.

We have a Band-O-Rama thing tomorrow night, and our BD is still making changes to everything. He's cutting out all of the awesome stuff!!! crying

our visual coordinator makes small changes to it every once in a while, but we've had all of our drill learned for about a month now. good luck with your shows

Our band...um well we're doing ok...we just finisished setting drill like last week and we are adding all this body work and the clarinets are like this is foofoo stuff...but sigh we're going to regionals and the judges said we might have a chance for finals...yeah right...our section sucks...lol sorry flutes but we do...and piccolos rock!!

We had our first competition two days ago. It was so much fun!

During awards, it was my band that shouted the loudest. We're 3A, and there were five (including us) in our division. We got third in general, first in percussion (drumline is NEVER going to stop bragging now >> wink and FIRST IN VISUAL! :huge manic grin: Although we didn't even place in music... our BD is going to be so pissed during tomorrow's practice.

Franklin Central invite: 5th place stare
Warren Central invite: 1st place biggrin + best music & visual
Brownsburg invite: 3rd place crying
ISSMA district: FIRST PLAAAAACE!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin + best music & visual
Ben Davis invite: 6th place (but there was only about a 3 or 4 point difference between us and first place eek )

we have had one competition this year it wasnt to big (this week we have one with 35 bands all are rivals are in it) but newayz at the one we jsut had we got every award tehy gave out (all in superior) we swept our calss and got first place the 1st runner up was 7 points behind us MSD PRIDE!

At Washington Township Saturday we got first out of 8 bands. It was amazing! We also took best music and percussion. We are a group 4 USSBA band. I have a good feeling about this year.

Our band got 5th place in a competition yesterday!
Our band is smaller compared to the other bands we were against.
We were challenging other schools that had over a 100 kids in it.
It was awesome!

Our first competition is this Saturday. Not the best day considering we have homecoming game the night before and SATs the morning of. What idiot chose this competiton?!
We finished learning all of our drill last Saturday, we learned like 20 sets that day. -___-" We're probably only going to compete using the first 3 movements (we have 4 movements this year) because we haven't started cleaning drill yet. Rehearsal is tonight though, we'll see how our retention level works out. haha. Poorly I bet.

Our first contest was last saturday ((Oct. 7)) and we ranked 17th ot of 22 bands... crying then everything made it worse when our BD bagged on us all day today. emo I wish I could have hidden in a corner and moped. emo Our percussion is bad a$$ but they ranked 22 out of 32. its so sad, and we practice 8 hours a week.

mine's doing okay for what we have. 24 members... yeah i know pathetic. but a lot of people keep quiting and then the sets must be adjusted. Not as many people as their should be have the music down yet though they've got most. we haven't finished drill for our third song yet...and in the first song we are unwinding a giant spiral across the field for 60 counts during a flute soli (we call it the death set in the flute line because it is really fast). the second song's visual is kind of iffy at this piont because people are either focusing on the music or the moving and it comes out yucky. but so far okay.
