In the distant future, an insane scientist kidnapped young men and women off of the street for reasons that were, until recently, unknown. After the old Scientist died a tape was played on all broadcasted networks. He gave his farwell speech.
" Ha, By the time all of you here this I will be reduced to ash. So I might as well tell yoiu of my exploits. Many of you know how I ,alone , kidnapped some of your respected co-workers, daughters sons, friends, and and for some of you... your Lovers. Where did they go? What have I done to them? Here," The screen switched to a view of his sinister lair filled with large glowing tubes. In these tubes women and men alike were floating in suspended animatins...but something was off. The scientists voice was the only part of him visible. " Here you go! Your loved ones
were cross breeded with animals of varied selection! They have no
memory of this world or any of you that are in it! " The late scientist
cackled an evil laugh that froze the hearts of all watching or hearing. The
broadcast was quickly terminated. No one was sure hiow to react to such a
horrible event.
In the next few days, These " Haflings" began appearing. The government quickly posted a law that all " Halflings" Had to be relocated to a special reservation far away from tyhe city to which they were unleashed upon. The government drafted a select few to help the facility stay under control. Each halfling is assigned a gaurd to appeal to the halfling rights activist. Plus it is the gaurds job to keep thier assigned halfling out of trouble, healthy and in the reservation. Gaurds are also required to wear black shirts, black pants, black shoes and ( if it is winter) Black scarves). Halfling are foced to wear the gaurds uniform in olive green.

Appearance: Adrian is rather delicate looking, with slender features and fragile looking wings; the feathers are a glossy black, and the wings are of a decent size. His hair is black, falling around chin length, and his eyes are green. The boy is quite short, only being 5'5. He always seems a bit shy, and awkward around other people...constantly fiddling with either his sleeves, or one of his feathers.

Rin patrolled the reserve making sure that all halflings were still in there bunks. It was a rule that before the breakfast horn was blown that no one were to leave thier bunks. Rin had already eaten breakfast so he was ready for the stampede of hungry halfling that he would have to keep in line. Rin looked at his watch. it was three seconds until the breakfast horn would go off as it did every morning at 5:00 AM. Rin covered his ears as the loud, blaring horn rang to signal that it was no time for all the halflings to report for breakfast. Rin saw some of his fellow gaurds holding a long rod that, on contact would send hundreds of volts through your system. This made it very clear to the halflings that they were not to run to the mess hall.

Adrian left the bunks quietly following along with the other Halflings - most of them seemed quite eager to get the mess hall, some almost running. Nobody was actually running, around him at least, because of the guards...the majority of them weren't about to let hunger overcome their common sense. The raven boy was one of them - the only difference being that he never ate that much anyway, and thus never cared that much about that morning rush to the food.
The boy walked with his head down, as usual, fiddling with a piece of his hair. He only looked up to make sure he didn't run into anyone - he was rather uncomfortable in a crowd. Adrian would much rather be alone, then be around people...but that wasn't a choice he was allowed to make here.

Taiko was still sleeping despite the commotion. She would normally wait for the stampede to be over before she went to grab what she could get, or steal, she yawned strectching out and her tails twitched. She heard someting outside in the mess hall (you guys can decide what it is) so she decided to look from her cell.

Rin heard the noise and walked over to the noise and shooed them away. Damn racoons. If the government took better care of this place then the racoons wouldn't be around here all the time. . Rin went back to his post. The giant group of halfling were disappearing into the mess hall.

Adrian followed along as the group entered the mess hall, getting his food and then sitting at one of the empty tables. Many of the halflings grouped together, so they could chat while they ate, but the raven wasn't really a social person. He hadn't taken much food, so he finished it off fairly quickly..after that, he was a bit at a loss of what to do. This happened ever morning, but he never thought up anything new to do.
He let his eyes drift over the people in the mess hall, both halfling and guard, watching people for lack of better things to do. Most people didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to him, so he never really worried about anyone catching his eye...something he usually tried to avoid. The boy could watch other people, but actually holding a conversation, and being around them was...difficult.
Luck apparently wasn't with him today, as when he was looking around, he somehow managed to catch somebodies gaze - or rather, they caught him looking. He looked down immediately, a bit embaressed.
((^^ I'll let you guys pick who that was...well, if either of you want your charries in the mess hall. I was figuring they needed some more actual interaction.))
