Purkle It has been brought to my attention that members feel we no longer need to have the purkle closet. Please let me know what it is you donated and if you would like the stuff back. Anyone not wanting their things, please advise me as to what you would like done with them. If nothing else, I will make various donations to charities I know of. Also, the guild funds that I have can either be dispursed or donated the guild account. Firstly, aren't all the donations listed in your journal? That would probably be easier than having people remember what they donated and if they want it back. The closet was a good idea in the beginning when most of us were new, but now that we're mostly more established I agree it's usefullness has been served. Secondly, I assumed that the guild gold was being held by Purkle because we couldn't access the gold donated to the guild thru the "donate to guild" link on the front page. Not that I think the guild needs gold now that it's formed (except maybe to get things to raffle or to help members with their quests...but are we doing that now anyway?) So if we are no longer going to have gold, I think the best idea would indeed be to disperse it evenly among members (or maybe just the active ones...that's a judgement call) instead of sticking it into a place where no one will be able to access it. Just my 2gold...take it or leave

Raffles and lottos pay for themselves though through the purchase of tickets. Agreed. I was thinking among just the active ones too, and same with the closet. Let the members get back what they donated, if they want, and with whatever's left over that they don't want returned to them, do like a free raffle where active members can randomly get items of clothing through a randomizer, and just say they want to participate, but not buy tickets because that defeats the purpose.

Yes lotto's pay for themselves. Raffles do not. In order to have a raffle, things must first be purchased. Then to make it worth something, Ticket costs have yet to be more than prize awarded. The boombox raffle is all Neonibbles idea. She is who has donated the prizes, like the letters that were used for the last one. It was done mainly to gain gold for the guild to have. As well as the lotto's that Giggly ran. She was granted a service fee for being in charge of all of it. So the gold that is here in my account has been obtained for use.

I'm trying to be antagonistic, I just need a little clarification. The gold has been obtained for use of what? Once one item is bought and raffled off, the tickets for that raffle will pay for the next item. If you need gold donated just to purchase an item that will be raffled away, and then the raffle tickets more than pay for that item, then what are further donations used for? Maybe I'm entirely misunderstanding.

I don't see why the Purkle account isn't needed. I know that we're all pretty well established, but that doesn't mean we don't need help. Looking at the closet, a lot of the stuff that' been donated are starter items. They wouldn't be worth much, but in addition to the donation and pricier items, the Purkle account could be used to help with wishlists and quests or other similar events. Maybe we can use current items for raffles so the gold is pure gain. We're not as big as the Neo Couch--this can allow for a lot more gifts and surprises for more members. I know that I'm not here for surprises or gifts--I'm here because I like Gaia and love the friendships I've made. But it doesn't mean that the other stuff isn't nice.
OR! we could create our own charity. There are losts of things that can be done as a group with such a benefit as our Purkle.

I think we should keep the guild account and the closet. Like someone else said we could maybe create our own charity and i.e. give clothes to newbies? And I definitely think we should keep the gold in the guild, from what I understand there will be some kind of guild quest or something later on that will require quite a bit of gold ninja

Thank you all for the support. I feel I do the guild a great service. Those who have not gotten anything from purkle, I'm sorry. I try to help where I can. As for being chatty, I have to get gold somehow. I do not ask for donations. When there are events, like stated, are self supporting. Therefore, there is not much leftover. Again, I only chat to get a post count of decent numbers. I am able to go and poll some for gold. If there are those who get upset from something I've said, again, sorry. Nothing is ever meant by it. I am only a guild account, and I try to keep it that way. When questions were asked of my identity, things were done to distract from the obvious. Sorry if this upset more people. Was not intended to.

Were some people more serious about finding out who Purkle is than I thought we were? Sure, natural curiosity makes me want to know, but having the account is the point so nothing gets mixed into a regular account. Would it make people happy if more than one mod had acces to it? Or we had more than one guild account? I personally don't see a need for more than Purkle, but I don't know what the problem is in the first place.

I think the only problems were a little misunderstanding and a little misintrepretation.
I believe all is and has been meant with only the best of intentions.
Hopefully the air will clear and all will be Purkley wurkley again.

EternalHearts Would it make people happy if more than one mod had acces to it? This was an option from the very start. However at that time others were either unable to or just weren't sure if they would stick around here. As it is obvious not very many people remain here on Gaia.
