The young white spotted cub Daveigh trotted through the tall grasses on the edges of her parents pride lands. Her mother was beginning to give her and her brother more freedom and allow them to wander in the lands as long as they returned before dark. At the moment it was middle of the afternoon with a few hours before dark and the young princess was enjoying her small taste of freedom with no protective mother or loving father to smother her completely to death.
She strode along a strip of bushes one of the many bits that helped mark the territory more clearly. Passing the bush something caught her eye. A hare was hiding beneath the bushes limbs. Daveigh's eyes grew wide as she looked at the hare. It was a great opritunity to try out her hunting skills on something besides a lizard. Hunkering down she waited for a few moments with her muscles tensed. After a few more moments she sprang and took off after the hare. The hare was fast and took off like a streak of lightning through the bush and out the other side. Daveigh followed after the hare though no match for its speed. After a good distance the hare disappeared down a hole in the ground. Daveigh skidded to a stop at the hole and peered down inside to see if she could catch one more glimpse of the illusive hare.

~pic goes here in a sec~
"Its gone now." A rather annoyed voice sounded from behind Daveigh. A ragged looking spotted cub walked fowards he had been stalking the same hare but wasnt as fast on the pounce as the spotted female before him. He wasnt just practicing though that was to be his meal for the day. The cub was a lone one save for another male he met every so once and awhile. "That was suppose to be my dinner, I might not of caught it anyways and cant stay mad at a female." He looked her over and almost wondered is they were related their spots where so simular.

Daveigh nearly jumped from her skin at the sound of another voice. She quickly turned to look at the lion the voice belonged to and stopped. The cub before her could have almost been her twin had his colors been inverted and his feathers and flakes red. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare away your meal. I've been practicing hunting on the lizards back where I live. I can catch them." She said sheepishly. For a moment she was quiet after that but then a thought came. "What are you doing hunting anyway? Shouldn't your parents be hunting for you being a cub and all?"

Banjoko flicked his tail abit and hopped closer to the other cub. "Its alright Ill eat field mice again, I sorta doubted I would catch the hare anyways." The cub stopped suddenly and scratched behind his ear he was scruffy and not well groomed skinny to boot. "Lizards taste nasty, but there easy to catch thats for sure." Banjoko's ears flattened as he made a sad face. "I dont have parents. I dont know what happened to them either." He sighed abit before smiling."So its either hunt for myself or not eat at all."

Daveigh's expression went from happy to grossed out at the concept of eating field mice and lizards. "You eat field mice? Warthog and gazelle is much better if you ask me." Daveigh said as she looked back towards her prides lands. "Have had gazelle or warthog?" She asked and then she gave a look of surprise. "No parents?! How awful, awful! No cub should go without parents!"
