Another day, another run, another hunt. This time he was chasing a damned wildebeast that escaped from him. He was able to puncture it's neck and it fell. When Ger let go it got up and ran away, now the lion was chasing after it. Hopefully, no other hunter will pick up the scent of blood and Ger can retrieve his game.
How did I let it get away!?
He cried to himself, racing over the savannah trailing the blood scent wildebeast. It was amazing how far it got. Under the noon sun, the beast should tire from the heat and the blood it was losing. Ger was determined to chase it, kill it, and bring it home to his family. He had been running for so long, he didn't even know exactly where he was. The land looked similar to the last and it just looked as if he had been running in circles, but no, he hadn't made any turns so he was sure he was going somewhere.
DIE ALREADY!

The petite, pale adolescent was currently perched on a boulder jutting up out of the grass, surveying the lands around her. They were vastly different from the home she'd left, but she somehow didn't feel out of place here. The real reason for this she wasn't quite willing to admit just yet, and was trying to put it out of her mind to deal with later. She really couldn't handle that right now.
As her eyes flitted around, she caught sight of Ger, running nearby. The scent of blood hadn't reached her yet, she being downwind where she sat, but she could see the prey beast he was chasing and had to wonder why. Why waste energy when one could simply spend one's time looking for a new herd? Still, never let it be said that she wasn't curious, and that she wouldn't poke her nose into others' business.
"Hey, there!" she calls out loudly, standing to make her almost embarrassingly small body easier to see. "What're you doing?"

Ger's ears perked and he glanced over quickly. There was another lion here? Great, it might take his food from him. He already prepared to fight for it need be, he fought once and he was pretty poor at it, he just hoped it was enough if this lion was gonna come after him and his prey. Quickly he took lunges rather steps and eventually got onto its hide, fangs embedding themselves into it's back side as claws dug into it's skin.
In moments the beast fell down with a thud and Ger stood a few feet away, panting. Finally, taken down and dead. His fur was a little messy, but a good grooming would fix that. Then it hit him, that other lion! His teal eyes danced over to the pale lion. Strange, it was rather small. Maybe it was a cub. Well, might as well reply.
"Hello there." he called out, waving a paw lazily before grooming it of the little blood on it. "I was just tying up some loose ends on my hunt."

Well, he took it down. She hadn't really expected him to be able to do so, running in this ridiculous heat. This was the time of day where she sunbathed and did nothing else, preferring to be perfectly lazy. It bemused her that he'd even consider running at this time.
"I can see that. I was just wondering why you'd want to run in this heat, is all," she replied, as she hopped from the boulder and began the short walk toward him, tilting her head when she was close enough to satisfy her. "It's just far too hot in my opinion."

"Hot? It's not that hot. I run in this temperature all teh time, so I am used to it. Besides I got to bring food back to the family, so I got this guy. Unfortunately, it got away from me and well...here I am."
He replied, smiling charmingly. Ger ran around all the time, the heat didn't bother him. Running and hunting is what kept his mind void of the memories that made his life in conflict. He just found running and hunting a way to escape it all.
"If it is so hot out, why not go to the watering hole? The water is cool there usually."
Ger smiled and continued to groom his fur slowly. It wasn't dirty, but he did it anyways.

Fair enough, she supposed, slowly bringing herself to a seated position. Fair enough if he was used to running around in this heat. But then the other half of what he said got through to her, and she frowned minutely. "Your family? You have to hunt for them? Is there... no one more able than you, no one older?" Sure, it was nosy, but she was curious! She couldn't help it. At least she put it as delicately as she could, which she didn't always deign to do for others.
"I'm not hot unless I run. Which I don't do until it's cooler in the day. I haven't been in these lands long, but I don't think there's a water hole close by, anyway."

"Well, there is Dad, though he would not want to leave Aysha's side during her pregnancy nor his fur messed up. Otherwise I would have to groom it if he cannot." Ger replied softly, sitting down. His eyes moving to the carcass now and again to make sure no scavenger(s) were at it while his back was turned. Kujack was as Ger described in their current situation as well as Aysha. "And besides, I like to run and hunt, gets me working and keeps my mind off the things I don't wish to think about....well, for some time. Consider it my escape. Not to mention it brings food and makes me stronger for larger game."
"I understand, hunting and running gets one rather....heated. However, I just find it exilerating. Besides, what is a good run before a meal? Gets the appetite going." he smirked playfully and sat still. The odd thing was he laced his paws before him, leg by leg, sitting straight up, a gesture many see in females. However, since Ger was growing, his legs were parted slightly from his chest filling out. He adopted the habit from Kujack, but now he was sort of, involunteerily, losing it.
"If there is no watering hole around, then what are you doing out here...." He tilted his head, "Forgive me, but I do not know your name. I am Ger, a Pride Lander."

"Your father would be more concerned with messing up his fur than hunting, even if Aysha, who I assume is his mate, was not with cub?" she asked slowly, her brow arching just a little. She found that somewhat ridiculous, if it was true. Anyone who knew her was aware that she meticulously kept her fur pristinely white, it was almost a compulsion, but even she wasn't afraid of getting dirty in a hunt. Grooming oneself after feeding to fullness was a relaxing thing, especially if one had company to help. "But I can understand both reasons you do it. I need an escape sometimes, and as you can see, a little more muscle on my small frame would do me a world of good." She, too, enjoyed a good hunt - under the right circumstances, of course. It was something her mother had taught her - the only thing she'd taughter her. It had been the only thing Denge had really been good at, besides showering her cubs with love, affection and devotion.
"I'm just around here because I'm exploring. I'm new in the lands, like I said, but since I appear to be staying here for a while, I thought I should get to know it better." She nodded at his pride, though, recognising the golden colour so common in the lands she'd visited twice, the last time one she'd rather forget. "Pridelands? You've travelled quite a way from home." A smile spread itself across her maw. "I'm Nyunya. I'm from... Well, not from anywhere, any more. I wander, now."

"It is complicated, I guess. My Dad has his reasons, and I have to respect them. Even though he may not be my real father, nor Aysha my mother, but they are close enough. Caring for me is all one needs to be called a parental figure. Kujack is....meticulious about some things, so I do it so I don't have to hear him complain about it. Though, I'd do it anyways." Ger smiled. To him, this whole situation with Jack and him with Aysha was so easy but just complicated to explain. To him it was reading a manuscript or a book of some sort, explaining it was like reading a dictionary in a different language. Either way, he has three influences in his life, five if you consider his friends, Ezeoha and Trina, the other three were Jahazara, his real mother, and Kujack and Aysha. All of them played a major part in his life, he saw them as family since he himself only had a mother. Perhaps it was his way of seeing through a dream.
"Adventuring can be fun, new places, new faces, and new things to do! Heh, I used to explore a lot when I was a cub, until I met my Dad." Actually, the reason he explored was to find his father, but instead he found that leopard who he now calls 'Dad'.
"Well, I am far from it, but I can go back whenever I wish. Tell you the truth, my Dad doesn't know I can go back to the Pride Lands whenever I want to. he thinks I am "lost" out here with him, but in fact I chose to stay here with him." It had been a first since he told anyone of that. He knew his way back by following the stars, however Kujack didn't know that...or did he? Well, Ger can only assume he didn't.

"Now that I can understand. When I was a cub, it was just me and my mother. Then she met Ithibati, her mate, and she became my second mother. I love her as much as my birth mother, no more no less, and the cubs she had later I see as my brothers and sister. I don't think blood has anything to do with family, so long as you care about and love those in it." Sure, her brother Fedha she could do with out, but she did love him, and she'd missed him a bit when he vanished. She hoped to find him in her wanderings, or at least news of him, so she didn't have to wonder if he was alive or not. She didn't want to spend all that long in his company, though, if she could avoid it.
"Yeah, adventuring is fun. I like it better when I know where I am, though, and I'm exploring a land I'm sure about. This... I don't know much about."
She smiled then, feeling a little envious that he could actually go home. That, she could never do. Not now. "It sounds like you have a good life, Ger. A family out here, and a home to go back to if you ever want to."
Strange how opposite their situations were. Ger chose not to go home to stay with his father; Ny left her home to avoid hers. She just hoped he never found her, and that her family left the lands before he came looking for her.

"Yeah, I ran into Kujack when I was a cub. Soon after we ran into Aysha. One thing led to another and she ended up pregnant, funny, huh? A leopard and a lioness having cubs together? Though, I don't question it."
Ger smiled down at his paws and looked back up at her, "When the cubs are born, I will have my own brothers and sisters. Blood matters not to anything, it would only be a name, blood-siblings, but what matters is the heart. Heart-siblings are much more important."
His smile grew soft when Ny said he had the life, strange since it wasn't all that. "Sometimes I wished I did have such a nice life, and someday, if I am lucky, I will have one." it was just a few kinks, like knots in a mane.

A lioness and a leopard? She couldn't honestly say she'd ever heard of anything of the sort, but it didn't give her more than half a moment's pause. "Not all that much funnier than two lionesses being mates. Those are my parents."
She nodded in agreement to that. He was right; blood didn't matter. It was an insubstantial tie that was worth nothing when it really came down to it. "I wish you luck with that," she murmurs with a smile. "They keep you awake all night with their crying and attention-seeking. Mine did, anyway."
Her smile softened as his did, and once again her head tilted just a little. "You do have a nice life, Ger. You have a mother and a father, siblings on the way. It doesn't get better than that. You have a family with you. I had to leave all mine behind, except my sister."

Ger smiled, "Then I will be there to calm them and give them the attention they seek. They are my family, so I must be there for them."
"I have known males to be together. But there are others out there that we haven't heard of it."
Ger's head fell a little, his ears back. She didn't know much about him, he didn't expect her to. She didn't know of the family he left behind to seek for his father. She didn't know he left his only friends behind to find his father. He left his mother, his only family directly connected to him, for his father. She did not know how he wanted to go back home and yet stay with his family just as he promised. Ger was a conflicted lion, internal conflicts that led to a physical vent. Every night he would stay awake, avoiding the dreams of his past that came against his present. He ran, hunted, and swam to stay awake, even to the point of hurting himself to keep himself awake. He was a sort of insomniac.
"Sorry, I have to go..." he murmured, turning back to his wildebeast, grabbing it and slowly dragging it back to Kujack's den, his tail and body low. He did not wish to stay there no longer.

[Sososososo sorry, Phifeluff. e.e;;;]Her ears lowered slightly, almost but not quite pressing against her skull, wondering where she'd suddenly gone wrong in this conversation. The mood had abruptly plummeted, and now Ger was slinking away, when she had thought it had been going rather well. She didn't quite understand. She'd been complimenting him, or at least she thought she had been, and this reaction to it had not been what she expected.
"Did I... say something wrong?" she asked quietly, her vermilion eyes on the prey beast he dragged with him, not Ger. She hoped she hadn't... but it seemed she had.

Ger paused, lightly putting the prey beast down. He had to bring food home for Kujack, no that is what he tricked his mind into thinking and soon was saying the same. The reason was to focus on the hunt instead of his past. He had to remember to keep himself low, he had to remember to pounce just at the right time, the right place. He had to do so many things percisely or else the catch would escape just as this one had. He had to focus, pushing everything out of his mind. But he knew he would think of them again, he always did. They were a part of him that he could not forget, but he could not forget Aysha or Kujack. He just....didn't know what to do.
"Not everyone has a nice life. I know I don't...in fact I live two broken ones."
He murmured, his back still turned to the female who tried to befriend him. He really didn't want to talk about it, but if he must then he would.
"....if you were given a choice. Would you return home to your real family and only friends....or stay with a couple who has cared for you since you were a cub and are expecting ones of their own? What would you do?"
