Name: Gallen Alexander Marcuss nick Name: Fireboomer Marcuss, Leprechaun DoA: June 12, 1984 Place of Birth: Dublin, Ireland Age: 22 Nationality: Irish Location: New York City Occupation: Junior in College studying communication Height: 5' 0 Weight: 130 pounds Hair: strawberry blond and always spiked up in front Eyes: green Build: medium, has a slight build Skin: pale Intro and History:Ever had one of those days where everything prior to that day, like that crappy date with your friend’s sister seemed so insignificant. Yeah, well today is one those days. How could I be so reckless? Well I guess the best place to start is from the beginning. I guess first thing is first, the name’s Gallen Alexander Marcuss. I am 22 years old and was born in Dublin, Ireland on June 12, 1984. At the age of Five I moved with my parents to Hong Kong where I lived for ten years. My Parents were archeologist with Oxford there field was in studying ancient china. I never paid much attention to what exactly they studied, I just remember how much they were away. My early years of living in Hong Kong was taken up by privet tutors and studying martial arts along with 6 am Tai Chi. My skills in Chinese were ok, and I had a couple friends form the neighborhood I played with. When my folks where around we go see the cultural and touristy parts of the city, shop in the market place, and even see the latest Jackie Chan or American film. When I got older I began to learn how to play mahjong with one my friends who grandmother taught him. I was not that great at the game, but did find it fun. I remember My first Chow Young Fat film, Hard Boiled and when My folks bought me my first Nintendo. My friends and I would buy bootleg games from some of the shadier shops in the shopping centers. Over all life was great. Then two months after I turned 15, my folks were invited into a private archeological dig that was based on studying the origins to this Chinese legend, “The Legend of The Monkey King”. It is a really neat story, my mom used to tell it to me along with other myths and legends when I was little, right before I went to sleep at night. Sadly, because the dig was a private one, I could not come along. Also because Hong Kong was returning back under Chinese control my parents felt it was better that I was sent to America to live with my older sister, who had started to work for this lab company, Feral Labs. So on September 12, 1998 I moved to New York City in America and begun my life with my sister. Life in New York and America was not bad. New York was definitely nothing like Hong Kong. Though like some parts of Hong Kong, the people in New York were pretty snooty and self absorbed, but in time I became accustomed to it. What helped was entering into high school. High school was an interesting experience, especially since I had been taught by tutors while I was with my folks. Every thing was so organized and structured…well more or less. There I made some friends, and was introduced to what would become my love and choice of carrier, radio and communication. Before this I remember my interest in radio and saw it as a way to voice my feelings and opinions of the world. I also remember how people did not respect radio in Hong Kong and how I knew if I ever did radio I could make it better and respectable. My chance to finally discover that I truly was meant to study communications and radio was thanks to a dear friend, Jacob. We met in homeroom. Jacob was your average geek, but a real nice guy. With in the first month of entering into the high school, Jacob had learned everything about me and my parent’s background. He started to question me on their work and soon we became friends. Though he liked communication, he was a huge nut for mythology and archeology. To this day I still do not know how he found out so much on me, but either way we became great friends. He got me involved in the school’s local radio and broadcasting club, and even taught me basic hacking. He also introduced me to American comics, and helped get me hooked on the Batman comics. While in return I told him about my parent’s jobs and some of the adventures I had had while I was with them. Then came a day I wish I could forget... it was that Hollywood-like sad day. The type Akira Kurosawa uses in his films to foreshadow a sad outcome or the type that hit you in the Gut like in some of John Wu’s early films. The sky was gray and it had been raining since the previous afternoon. That morning seemed like a normal day, side from the s**t weather, when my sister walked into our kitchen with this glum look on her face. Her eyes were red and swollen with tears. She looked at me and I watched as the tears swelled up again and ran down her cheeks. It took me thirty minutes to calm her down so I could find out what was wrong. Though in my gut I think I already knew, and dreaded it. I prayed it was not true, just a silly feeling. But that was soon not the case, as my sister mouthed the words that our parents were dead. It happened two days earlier, and word had not gotten back to civilization, causing the delay in us getting the information. What had occurred was that our parents were with two other expedition groups. They all had their own jeep. But…my parents jeep…well.. they lost control of it and it crashed. The jeep flipped. They did not tell us anything more, except that our parents died instantaneously. We were alone. Two weeks after we had received the call, the bodies of our parents had finally made it through customs and were back in Ireland. My sister and I flew over to be with our grandparents who comforted us while we where there for the funeral. I remember that I cried myself to sleep each night, though I tried not to show the pain I felt in public. I had to be strong for my sister, who was having more trouble holding in her emotions. As soon as the funeral was over, questions arose on who would become my guardian, I was now 16 and had two more years before I was legally an adult by American standards and a year by UK standards. Either way, my grandparents and sister discussed this issue in great length for the remainder of the week we were with them. In the end my sister persuaded them to let me stay with her as our parents had arranged it. This she said would allow me to finish school, and once I was of age I could choose to stay in the US or return to Ireland with our grandparents. So back to the US we went. And back to school I went. The following weeks were hell, trying to deal with my parents’ death and the pile of homework that my teachers had gathered up for me. By the time Christmas break had come and gone I was ready for summer. That summer and the following year went by uneventfully and finally another summer came and I was a senior in high school. The year once more went by quickly with all the glory American seniors get, and by winter holiday my sister started to discuss with me about a job opportunity her company had offered her. It was some research position in Florida, which they wanted her to head. I was happy for her, because it meant one of her life goals had finally been reached and soon she might be famous, especially with a company like Feral Labs backing her. That spring I graduated from high school and two weeks later I said goodbye to my sister as she boarded the plane to Florida and her new job. That summer I worked odd jobs so I could make up some fun money. My sister had arranged to pay for the apartment and for my schooling at NYU. Unlike her, I was going to a state university, I was sure my parents where rolling in there graves. But I wanted to continue my studies in communication and maybe make it into broadcasting. During the summer I also got a tattoo on my shoulder blade. It was of the Celtic Family Knot, in honor of my parents. I never told my sister that I used some of the money she sent me for it, but I still wonder what the look on her face would have been like. That winter I began my college career; sadly my best friend Jacob did not come to NYU. But we kept in touch for a few months before he fell of the face the planet. I still wonder what he is doing. Anyway, the first two semesters went well, my sister sent word to me about how great her job was and promised to come visit in June to see me for my birthday. June soon came, and my 19th birthday, but no word from my sister. Two months before the letters she sent me abruptly stopped, at the time I figured it was because she was busy with her research. Then came my Birthday and no word, not even a call from her making up an excuses for not making it. I soon took up another summer Job at the local Boarder’s and the month passed. Still no word. I was starting to worry. Countless nights I would wake from nightmares of her dieing, or being in trouble. Each one more vivid and scary, I feared loosing her too, being all alone. Finally July begun and I started to make calls to the Local branch of Feral. After Numerous times being put on hold, I finally got through to some one in Human rescores only to be told my sister never worked for Feral. This had to be wrong I said, and soon I started to call the Florida branch, again I got the same answer. What the hell was going on. The checks that where went to me where from Feral, yet they knew nothing about her? Finally, after some heavy research, I located the number to Ferals main headquarters and begun to bug them. Still I got eth same answer. But I was not satisfied; I started to send letters to all their officials. I made calls to others. Soon they stopped taking my calls. I also received letters threatening to take action if I continued to harass them. Yet that did not stop me, something was wrong. My sister was working for them, so why did they all claim she did not. School finally began again and with the new semester I planed to use what I had learned and the schools equipment to get to the bottom of what Feral was hiding about my sister. That semester on my free time I worked diligently on tapping Feral’s phone lines and cutting through there radio waves. I went to their local labs and their New York headquarters at night and taped their wire with hard wear from the college. When in school I monitored there lines, explain to fellow students and teachers it was an experimental project. I tried to only work on it when the lab was empty, usually late at night before the school closed. But still nothing. I used different phone lines and aliases seeing if I could scare them into telling me what occurred with my sister and where she was. Still nothing. Maybe I needed to get anotehr tap on their lines? So the following night I went to Feral's base HQ in the city and hooked up another tap. Unfortinaly a police car was patroling the area and caught me. I ran as hard as I could and got away. But I knew my cover may have just been blown. I worried that night and for the rest the week that they might find my taps and come calling the school. And as sure as day I was right. With in two weeks Feral had it’s lawyers and the police investigating our school and our department. In time, they dwindled down their suspects to me, and form there all hell broke lose. I, being an honest guy told them it was me and explained why. But it was not good enough. By the following week I had been expelled form eth college and blacklisted with in the radio communications community. My chance to be in radio was ruined. Two more weeks passed as I worked part time between Boarders and a local grocery store, trying to make ends meet. The following Monday I received a letter form feral Labs. I rolled my eyes, wondering what next. As I opened and read the letter, I discovered that the heads of Feral got wind of what occurred and were sorry for the damages done to my character. As I continued to read they told me that their was a mix up in the records and that my sisters files had been misplaced. They continued by saying she was working on an important project for them which prevented her from visiting or having communication with anyone outside. But because of the inconvenience, they wanted to file me to Florida and take me by chopper to meet with her at there companies resort island for a week vacation while they cleared up the misunderstanding and help re- enrolled me in the college of my choice. It was too good to be true. Along with eth letter where plain tickets and a authorization badge. I was to leave that Wednesday to head to Florida and meet up with there private chopper that would take me to the island. I was finally going to see my sister again. THE TRUTH Feral being afraid that Gallen, through his taping may have seen or learned too much. Afraid that he might have over heard secret data being discused or anything else that could harm the companies rep or put their projects in jeopardy, Feral arranged to have Gallen transported out of public, by offering him a trip to one of there privet resort areas to see his sister. What happened after obtaining Gallen was up to higher ups in direct contact with Moreau himself. To prevent suspicions Feral would close up Gallen’s jobs in New York and transport his stuff to the island, claiming to the apartment that he had taken up residents in Florida with his sister, who he had just found. Personalite:Gallen is a good natured young man with a passion to do what is right and to help others. He enjoys being around others and never shies away from any sort of gathering. Though he usually is very friendly, at times he has a short temper, but usually tries to suppress it. Usually it takes allot to get on his bad side, but once there, there is no redemption. He can hold a grudge like a cat. He can be quite loud and usually talks A LOT. Over all Gallen works to be the big brother type and will be the first to defend. He honors those who are his friends and usually it doesn’t take a lot to find yourself being referred to as one of his friends. AppearancesGallen is 5'0" tall with short strawberry blond hair that he spikes in the front. He has a medium build, which he keeps in shape through swimming and working out. His skin is pale due to his Irish blood and his attire usually consist of t-shirts or lose button up short sleeve dress shirt which he wears un-tucked with jeans. On occasion he will wear cargo pants or shorts, but not very often. His shoe of choice is blue chucks, reminiscent of the 80's. He usually walks amongst folks with his head held up high, with confidence in his bright green eyes. The only distinguishing characteristics are two tattoo. One on his left shoulder blade which is in the design of the Celtic Knot for family. The Knot he had done after his parents had died, much to his older sisters dismay. Even though she disapproved of the marking, Gallen saw it as one way for him to honor his parents and to show others what truly matter to him in his heart. Around his neck he wears his sisters locket which is shaped like and eagle holding the Celtic knot for family. This necklace is made of silver and is Gallens most prized possession. Tattoos and MeaningsCeltic Family Circle The symbol for family, seen as the most important part of Celtic culture. The family was the central government and power of the clan. In it the husband and wife were seen as equals dominating their own domain while the child was the most cherished. Here elderly were respected and there will law. The Youth were aloud to be free spirited but expected to obey the rules of the clan. All members where expected to fulfill their role for the greater good and well being of the family. The top two rings of the knot represent the equality of the husband and wife, while the lower ring represent the child. The top two rings over the lower ring symbolizes the responsibility of the parents over the child. What's in a Name?Gallen's name comes from the Greek physician Galen who is linked to being the inventor of many the surgical tools we use today. He lived from 129-200 AD and his methods where used across Europe for over a thousand years. He began his carrier in medicine after his father’s death in 148 AD and soon was a physician for the gladiatorial competitions. During this time he gained knowledge on how to treat with trauma injuries, It is at this same time he came to the realization that "wounds where a window into the human body." In 162 Galen moved to Rome and began his practice, writing books and giving public demonstrations of his knowledge of the human anatomy. Due to his great skill he gained clients form all over the Roman Empire. One of them was the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, which lead Galen to become the court physician. For eth rest of his life he lived in the court, writing research and experimenting on animals to learn the functions of the Kidneys and spinal cord. Galen is traditionally believed to have died in the year 200 AD, but this is debated and it is believed his true date of death was 216. Among his work he studied, broken bones, the heart, and the brain Gallen’s parents both professors felt that their son, would be named after one of the greatest. Can we say they where trying to hint to him what his future should be? rolleyes For more info on Galen and where I gained this wonderful knowledge check out: Galen-WikipediaSkillsDrawing swimming language: Chinese: Gallen is semi fluent in, due to living in Hong Kong with his Parents between the ages of 5 to 15. he has become rusty at it while living in America, but still can catch phrases and conversations. 0% Stage: Gallen has just arrived, he is pretty much excited and nervous about this whole deal. Physically, after receiving the "vaccination" he has been dealing with a slight fever like Dr. Sabin said. As of Wednesday, his day of arrival, and Thursday, his first day out, Gallen has not yet noticed any the slight mental alterations that have begun to take affect. He did find it a little hard to sleep Wednesday night, but it might just be from the trip and excitement. 25% Stage:

Who will I meet while on this strange Island? Sabin Dvert: Odd guy, dresses like some sort of Victorian Ann Rice vampire. I was expecting to be greeted by my sis when I landed, but instead I got him. He is not that bad though, even if he went to Harvard Oh well they say there are eccentric folk even in sciences. I just hope not everybody here is as eccentric.
Cody Archer- FOE The heck is with this kid.. he has a dolphin tail. Is it some sort of deformity. He kept claiming this island is some sort of place where people get turned into animals. Eitherway, little brat pushed me into the water and had a hissy fit...and his tail and flipper like things moved as he got mad. I admit when I first saw him I reacted poorly, but this kid is creepy....And a total brat!!!!
Richard Harrison- Stern, but nice old man I met by the lake. He seems to know Cody, and also told me a similar story about this island. Are the people here nuts, or are they telling the truth. Either way, even if this guy is nuts, he seems like a nice person, and quiet wise.
I just hope what he told me is just a silly joke and not eth truth, I don’t want to be a slug.
Tommy Christian- FRIEND This guy is ugly. Not his fault though, the damn doctors really are turning people into animals. He says he was part of the Air Force and was heading to Italy. He is the second guy I have met who is turning into an animal. But he is a nice guy and I hope we can talk again. But How can my sister be involved in this project?
Billy- I...I...I do not want to talk about it crying
Ian Campbell- FRIEND Nice guy, though he seems to have a dark side. Sadly he seems to have gotten the best and worst of this experiment. So I can understand his anger. Either way I need to visit him. Though I have issues agreeing with his comment, that my sister would bring me here only to have me changed, so we can be together.
Liamh Doradan- FRIEND Cool guy. He is a real geek, comics, old B rated films, the works. I like him! Hope we can hang out more. Maybe play pool more then talk next time.

It Begins: Intro RP Between Gallen and SabinGallen Gallen sat impertinent in his seat as the chopper flew over the Atlantic. That morning he had boarded a plane in New York and left on his adventure to Florida. Only to then hop the plane and get on a chopper that would take him to Feral’s Resort Island and his sister. He was worried about how she was and still suspicious on why it took so long to hear form her. It also bothered him that after his taping of Feral’s New York base phones and there retaliation, leading him to be expelled from NYU, that they would suddenly be nice enough to drop the charges, reunite him with his sister, and get him into the college of his choice. But Gallen being a young man with hope in his heart and the belief all people have good in them, shook off the odd feeling that this whole situation did not seem right. He looked out the window again and sighed. The pilot a big burly dark skinned man, was not the best company for this long trip. He had asked a few questions of the man while he sat there watching eth land and then sea go by, only to receive an acknowledging grunt or nothing at all. If you had told Gallen at this point that he was heading into a trap, that his sister was not on the island, and that he would never see his home again, he probably believe you. But alas Hope and excitement to see his sister clouded his judgment. Sabin Sabin Duvert, meanwhile, waited just off the helipad by the jeep. It had been an interesting few weeks, certain enough - between fascinating new changes on the island of a couple islanders starting along a path that would eventually have them resemble mythical creatures.... to a note from Moreau regarding another new arrival who had been administered one of his very own, highly developed combination serums. A reward, Moreau had called it. A smile had been brought to Sabin's face. It was verification that, if anything, Moreau knew nothing of the subtle prodding that Sabin had attempted to give Aubrey and Billy to remain on the outskirts, and a morsel of power that his time in second in command was not for naught. He still had more footing after that situation than before. With Moreau and Aubrey being still on shakey terms, Sabin was given a lot of purchase to get footholds in some vital areas... and some things - namely the subjects, were turning out quite nicely. And today there was another new arrival. Things were hopping on the island, and Sabin wondered how long things would keep going at this pace - the island was only so big after all... And the more of them there was, the greater the chance some loophole would be found and exploited. This one a wiretapper that had been caught - according to the notes, looking for his sister -an employee in a secretive development lab in the states. He had been caught, expelled from his university, and there were charges that were dropped when the island figured that no one would miss him and it would be easier to cover their asses. However, enough potential red flags were raised to make Sabin cautious. So in the pocket to his seldom-worn labcoat (on top of dark, long out of style clothing), was an injection gun loaded with tranqs.... just in case. He shielded his face when the chopper touched down, smiled and approached the door to the cab after the blades slowed, peering inside. "Good evening, Mr. Marcuss! Welcome to the Carribbean Branch of Feral Labs! I'm Dr. Duvert!" He called, extending a hand. Gallen As the chopper touched down, Gallen noticed the oddly dressed man. Yet he did not concern Gallen. Gallen was looking for his sister; she surely was going to meet him at the pad…right? As the chopper came to a stop and the door opened Gallen slowly got out, pulling out his duffel bag with a weeks worth of clothes, gear, and his laptop with power cords for this supposedly short vacation. He saw the out reached hand form the white haired man and in response shook it, noting the slight French accent he heard. “Umm a pleasure, I am sure. Not to be rude but I was under the impression my sister was meeting me here.” He continued to look at the jeep and around Sabin expecting his sister to jump out and say “surprise and welcome!” Sabin Sabin gave a quick chuckle. "Yes, Yes, Mr. Marcuss. I am certain that you are eager to see her. However there are first some standard requisites that need to be done before you can see her. I can take you up to the labs.." He gestured to the jeep, "And get you the island innoculation package. There are some nasty diseases floating about down here and we do our best to keep the threat minimal." Gallen Gallen quirked an eye at Sabins words. He had to go through a sort of customs? Why was he not informed about this before hand. “ I see, I would think they would have given me the necessary vaccines back in Florida before I got here.” Gallen was starting to get suspicious as he watched the white haired man motion to the jeep. He looked at the old relic from the 70’s obviously a left over from one the old wars. He looked back at Sabin, still unsure if he was going to trust this man. It was Feral who originally claimed his sister never worked for them, and it was Feral who ruined his life back home….Yet it was also Feral who was giving him a second chance, offering him the college of his choice, and reuniting him with his sister. Still something in the back of Gallen’s mind, like Spider-man’s spider senses, was going off and warning the 22 year old of possible danger. Sabin "Well, we have a private pilot to the islands. I'm sure that they informed you that the labs here were top secret... hence the nondisclosure waivers you signed." Sabin spoke with him, while leading him towards the Jeep as the rotors of the helicopter began to pick back up. "You... obviously aren't going through commercial flights to get here, and Feral Labs ownes the island, so there are no government customs." Sabin gave Gallen a tight-lipped smile. "So, if you'll just come with me, we'll get the necessities out of the way." He held the door open for him. Gallen Gallen did not like this guy one bit, something about him was…not right. As the white haired man ushered him to the jeep Gallen’s could feel his stomach knot. Then he heard the Chopper start up…his only way back to reality….back to home and away form what was quickly starting o feel like a bad dream. Gallen turned to look at the chopper, could he make it, run, pop the door open, jump in and be home free. Or was he going to let it go and allow this man to take him to their main lab and maybe his sister…if his sister was here. He bit his lip as time seemed to slow down. Sabin Sabin cleared his throat as Gallen stared at the helicopter as it began to lift off, sensing the man's hesitance and tension. "Mr. Marcuss? We probably should clear the way for the spinning rotors... it's not a long drive to the labs - I know you must be tired." Gallen Gallen snapped back to reality.. it was too late he was stuck on this island and right now with this oddly dressed man. He sighed as he turned and went to eth jeep. He nodded in thanks to Sabin for opening the door. Laying his bag in the back and sitting on the comfy leather seat closing the door beside him. He was stuck here.. for now and heck maybe it was just nerves that where making him feel defensive. In an hour or so he would be with his sister and laughing this whole thing off. He smiled at this thought. “well your the Doctor, lets get moving.” He smiled Sabin Sabin eased his grip on the needle in his pocket. For a moment there it almost looked like the kid was going to make a break for it. Easing a smile onto his face, Sabin made sure he was strapped in and then hopped in the driver's seat. "Alright then, hang on - the road can be a bit bumpy." Sabin commented before starting up the car and heading down the narrow jungle path. This time, however, he took the road a bit slower due to the device in his pocket. Didn't want that going off accidentally somehow, despite the safety lock. It was about a fifteen minute drive down lovely jungle trails before a large gate loomed before them with the feral labs logo brandished across it. The whole complex behind the gate smacked of expensive - built into a mountain, surrounded by a huge fence. Gallen Gallen admired the beauty of the jungle, it reminded him of some the trips he went on with his parents as a boy while they showed him there archeological dig sites. His heart stung with pain for a second remembering his lost parents. “My folks use to take me to jungles like this in western China. They where archeologist.” He figured small talk might ease the pain and maybe allow him to re evaluate his opinion of this strange man. As they reached the Labs, Gallen’s eyes went wide, he had never see such an expensive place. So New and high tech, like something out of a sci-fi film or one of his super hero comics. As they passed through the gates he could almost expect to see robots and exo frames being used. Alas that was not to be seen, but only in the minds eye of a young man with a very overactive imagination. Still such high tech and the feeling of money made Gallen feel good inside, He was happy for his sister, and proud that she landed a job in such a great places. It only made his excitement to see her all the more unbearable. Sabin Sabin glanced over with a raised eyebrow as he spoke. "Oh? I'm sure they weren't nearly this lush, though. It's virtually a rainforest here with all of the percipitation. I've never been on a dig myself, but a lot of my collegues in the anthropology department back at Harvard certainly had stories to tell." Sabin commented as he pulled the jeep into a parking space in the mostly empty lot and hopped out. "You can leave your things in the jeep if you like. I'll take you out to your room to get comfortable after the innoculation..." And how to get him to calm about seeing his sister till at least 'tomorrow?' "Your sister is working late this afternoon and unfortunately we likely can't schedule the meeting till tomorrow morning. He gestured to the building. "now.. if you'll just come with me, this won't take but a few moments." Gallen “Harvard? Haaa my folks where professors for Oxford.” Gallen’s UK pride showed, and he was quite proud of his parents. As the Jeep stopped he nodded to Sabin, getting out and leaving his gear. He looked around some more as they walked to the main entrances. “So who finances you guys, Lex Luthor?” He grinned as they continued to walk. But when Sabin said it would not be till tomorrow that Gallen would see his sister, his gleeful grin turned to a frown. That uncomfortable feeling started to comeback, the feeling as if this was just some sort of set up, and that in reality his sister was not here. But he swallowed the paranoid feeling and dismissed the thought. “Yhea, well she is a hard worker. Do you work with my sister? How is she, has she been eating? When she gets busy she sometimes forgets to eat and sleep.” He forced his mouth back into a grin, though he still could feel his heart sink. Sabin Sabin's lip curled into a bit of a smirk, but he didn't respond to the Oxford vs Harvard discussion. He had been down that route before. He did actually chuckle a bit at the Superman reference. "You'd think sometimes. But no, the CEO himself is here, hence the top notch facilities." "And she is a hard worker. I am not her supervisor personally, but I have heard many a good word about her. I don't know about the personal detals, however. You'll have to talk to her about that." He led Gallen into the facility, past a plush, overexpensive doctor's lobby. The waiting area was full of couches, an empty receptionist's table, and a beautiful view of the seaside. Sabin barely gave it a moment's pause, leading Gallen through the double door in the back, through a sterile hallway, and into an elevator that opened as they approached. "Floor 8" Sabin spoke aloud with a silent smirk. Gallen Gallen’s jaw dropped at the sight of the lavish waiting room. Yet the idea of a waiting room on a research/resort island was a little odd. Gallen soon shook it off, dumb founded by the amount of money it must have took to build this place. “ The head guy works here, wow my sis really did hit the jack pot….errr she is very lucky.” Gallen blushed as he caught himself, trying to keep his composure and manors. All he needed was to do something dumb that would embarrass him and he would not hear the end of it form his sister. As they reached the elevator and Sabin voice activated the floor they where to go to, Gallen once more feel into the bliss of living in a sci-fi fantasy. This place was defiantly something straight out of Frank Herbert, Star Trek, and a few hundred comic books all wrapped up in one. “so if I may ask what do you all do here, I was under the impression this was a resort island for the company. I guess I was misinformed? So this is the research island my sis has been at all this time, what exactly you all research here.” The old Marcuss curious gene was starting to take hold, it was something his sister, father and he all shared. This need to know what was going on around them and to understand their world. It was what lead his father to bean archeologists, his sister to be a professor in genetics, and him to be a student in communications aimed to be a radio personality seeking the truth. Sabin']The comment didn't seem to phase the white-haired doctor as he led him. In fact, if he heard him at all, he deigned to comment. As the elevator finished it's lurching shoot to the aforspoken Floor 8, the doors slid open into directly into a single, large, examination room. Sabin stepped in without hesitation and looked expectantly back to Gallen. "Resort Island? Oh, no. This is a top of the line research facility. I... well, you have signed the nondisclosure forms.." Sabin continued, a note of hesitance in his voice. "So you are legally bound not to speak of what's going on here." He caught Gallen's eyes severely for a moment before continuing. "Your sister is working on our stem cell research here. It's technically not... quite legal in the states... and so Feral Labs has moved out of the country. It's really a shame - and I'm sure in the next administration there will be a turnabout of laws, and Feral Labs will be years ahead of the competition. Hence... why we can't allow much contact off of the island." Sabin explained cautiosly. After Gallen had stepped fully into the room and the elevator closed behind him, Sabin went to a mirrored cabinet which also slid open soundlessly, and began to examine the canisters behind its doors.
[quote="Gallen Gallen nodded at what he was told, “Wow! Steam cell research. Well I hope that your work will be for not, I am sure once it is allowed you all will be seen as heroes and saviors to those who desperately want there lives back.” Gallen wondered into eth room looking around. It’s sterol atmosphere, stainless steel walls, and sci-fi tech gave Gallen both a senses of awe and or dread. Yet what Sabin had said did make senses and put the edgy Gallen at ease. Sabin Sabin gave a wild smile, getting into the role for his story. "I know... I really can't comprehend why it's illegalized at the moment. Sure, it uses... well... stem cells, but you know what they say - Waste not, want not!" He gave a rather insensitive laugh. "But seriously, it can save so many lives... help people with nerve damage... there's so much potential going untapped." Sabin picked through the cabinet, smiling secretly to himself when he noticed that as Moreau had said, his displacer beast serum that he had recently completed was indeed missing. He couldn't wait to see how that turned out. His own private menagerie was slowly growing. But what for Gallen? Most of his serums were already chosen - one of the benefits for bringing on new islanders, and the rest weren't ready yet. He thumbed through some of the combinations sitting on the shelf, pausing at the undirected feline/fish combination with an odd grin. Moreau had requested its development, to test psychiatric results of two such... contrary species. Why not? Filling a needle with the concoction, and making a note on Gallen's file, he turned to the boy with a smile and an alcohol-soaked swab. "Roll up your sleeve!" Gallen Gallen saw the needle and the swab as he leaned back on the metal wall. He gulped, he never liked needles and then great conversation the two just shared had allowed Gallen to almost forget why he was here in eth first places. “You sure you really need to do that, I have a pretty strong immune system. Like I said I lived jungle like climates like this, and places worse then here…Hong Kong can be real nasty in the summer.” Gallen really did not like the idea of this needle for some reason. Sabin Sabin chuckled. "A strong immune system won't help you much against the symptoms of dengue fever... Hemmhoraging... skin peeling away in bloody sores... bleeding from your eyes and ears. It's not pleasant. And I'm sure if you've done your share of traveling that you've had to put up with mandatory vaccinations before. Or else they'd never have let you leave the country." Sabin approached and swabbed at his arm with the cotton. Gallen Gallen sighed as he rolled up his sleeve and let the Doctor do his job. He still did not like this. Yet the alternative sounded worse. As he stood there he reflected on how his day begun. Early morning watching some TV as he packed, feed Drake his cat, ate breakfast. Then he head to the airport. And form there to here. He wondered how Drake was doing. He also wondered how superman was going to make it out of his most recent battle in the comics. Oh well, next week he pick up the back issues. He smiled and next week he be heading to the college of his choice. “So what is the name of the head CEO of this company?” Gallen inquired as he waited for the p***k of the needle. Sabin "Dr. Nicholas Moreau." Sabin responded as he slipped the needle into the back of Gallen's arm. There was a quick pinch, and then a warm sensation that spread over his body. "You might have a bit of a low grade fever for the evening. But if you need it, there is some basic tylenol or aspirin at the center near where you'll be staying. Annd... that's that. I can drive you down there now, and you can get some rest after your flight. You must be tired from all the travel." Sabin commented, tossing the used syringe into a medical waste recepticle. Gallen Gallen winced at the p***k as he heard the name. Gallen felt the odd warm feeling run through his body, his veins pumping the veil serum through him, not suspecting that this was only the beginning of his nightmare. As Sabin threw away the syringe Gallen pulled down his sleeve and rubbed his arm. “Tingles a bit, very strong vaccine.” Gallen said with a grin, he seemed to grin a lot, was it out of nerves or was he just a generally nice guy. “I would very much appreciate the ride to where I am staying, it is my sisters place right?” Sabin Sabin nodded. "Indeed it is. Will keep you healthy." Sabin said with a grin and a pat on the other arm. "And yes, she should get off work late tonight - she's been notified that you'll be there waiting for her." Sabin went with the question - it made things easier, especially if that's what Gallen was already expecting. Gallen Gallen smiled and nodded as he headed back to the elevator. His heart pounded fats, was it cause of the alien serum which already was starting to alter his DNA or was it out of the excitement of seeing his sister. If only he knew this was all a lie, and that what was now in him was going to change his life forever, he probably would have tried to fight the white haired man and demanded a cure and the true location of his sister. But alas that too was not to be the cases as the young man headed to the elevator, blissfully day dreaming how it would feel to see his big sister again. Sabin Sabin backtracked the route with Gallen: down the elevator, through the sterile hallway and plush lobby, and back out to the same vehicle that still held Gallen's bag (which unbeknowest to him had been rifled through in his absence before the items were carefully replaced to make sure he didn't have any wide-ranging communication devices). "It's just a little ways to the duplex." Sabin offered cheerfully as he handed Gallen a key with the duplex number written on it. "I'll get you there and drop you off. He hopped in the driver's seat again, and waited for Gallen to join him. Gallen Gallen got in as he sat back and felt the breeze through his hair as they took off. So this was it, the pace his sister worked. And soon he was going to be in her home and waiting for her to return home, like the old days back in New York. He closed his eyes and listened to the sounds around him smiling. “This shall be a great vacation. And I hope I can see Dr. Moreau so I can apologies for taping his companies wires and thank him for helping find me a new college of my choice” Sabin The drive was indeed relatively pleasant. The blistering heat of full blown summer was starting to pass on the island, but it was still certainly warm. But with the wind and slight overcast tint to the air, it made for an altogether enjoyable ride. "I hope you have a great time, Gallen!" Sabin replied with a note of enthusiasm. "There is a lot to do here, as I'm sure you'll find. But your sister does a lot here... Moreau couldn't abide by punishing her family for concern for her. And neither would she!" He added with a laugh. It was about a ten minute drive, and then the jungle opened up again - this time to a cluster of around a hundred buildings in a wheel-like formation around a larger central building. Pulling up to a pair, Sabin smiled and gestured. "And here you are! If you need anything, or want to try to set up an appointment with Dr. Moreau, just hit 0 on your intercom." Gallen Gallen smiled as they pulled up to the small village. “Wow do all the lab techs live here. Man I think I feel a little out of places, not being a scientist.” He grind as they stopped at what would be his new home. As he got out and took his bag he nodded to what Sabin told him. “Thank you and I hope we can chat again, maybe compare notes on Harvard and Oxford.” Gallen grinned “Or maybe you can some time show me around the rest the island, I did enjoy your company.” As Gallen slumped his bag over his shoulder he smiled to eth strange white haired man as he backed up so eth Jeep could drive off. Sabin He tipped his nonexistant hat with a smile as Gallen got out. "Yup, Moreau spares no expense. But don't worry... hell, if you want, you can say you're a new recruit!" He gave a laugh, internally imaginign islander reactions to that. "Feel free to explore the island - it's got lovely beaches, virgin jungles, and caves!" He called back enthusiastically as he turned the jeep around, and left Gallen to his own devices. Gallen Gallen waved good buy, then turned to the duplex. So this was to be his home for the week. He smiled at the thought, though still feeling uncomfortable about eth whole situation. As he got to his door he pulled out eth key, unlocked it and walked into eth room. He flipped on the lights and noticed that none of his sister’s stuff was here. Oh well maybe she lived on the top floor he thought as he noted the room was designed for only one person to live in. He dropped his bag on the desk chair, kicked off his shoes and sent face first into the soft pillow. From there he dosed off to sleep. The cool air form eth turned on ac tickling his bare feet as he rolled onto his side and hugged the pillow, a smile on his face as he started to dream about happier times in the past.

Wednesday Night:
Gallen awoke only to find the sun had set. He looked at his pocket watch, a cheap 20 dollar one, which he got at a comic convention two years back. It was from the Japanese comic Fullmetal Alchemist. Though Gallen was not a huge fan of anime or Japanese comics, he did find the design of the watch neat. It was 1:00 in the morning, Gallen sighed as he looked out the window, noting the phosphorescent lights dimly illuminating the paths around the duplex village.
He soon laid back and stared at the ceiling, wondering what to do, he could not go back to sleep, and he did not want to bug his sister. As far as he knew, she may not even be back home yet. Or the person above him was not her, but another lab tech, who might be trying to get sleep.
Gallen looked over to his bag, remembering his book he had and the couple comics he brought. He sat up and rubbed his hair as he crawled over to the chair and pulled his bag off it and over to him. He soon sat on his bed, rummaging through his stuff. He finally found what he was searching for, an old beat up book he had found a week earlier. It was a copy of E.E. "Doc" Smith's The Lensmen. Gallen had some friends back in the college who had told him about this old book from the 50's and how great it was. Gallen laid his bag beside his bed, leaned back, and started to read the book. It was going to be a long night of reading, but he really did not feel that tired. Very odd he noted, but it was probably from the excitement. He did note that he felt a little warm, probably the slight fever Dr. Sabin had spoke of due to the vaccination.
