A hard, unforgiving land, the Realm of Earth is incapable of supporting any kind of plant life. Numerous mountains and caves cover the surface, while under the ground the caverns form a massive labyrinth of stone and gems.

Up from a tunnel Jon Ton allmost oozes out. The rocky ground is covered inblack ooze as his foot steps come off the rock. A creature growls loudly from inside the tunnel, and jon Ton lookes back into the emptyness, shutters and gets farther away from the tunnel. He takes offhis top hat and wipes the sweat from his head," I am finally away from that god for saken maze, I'm so glad to be back."

He breathed deeply the cinnamon smell of the spice presented to him. They had taken it from the fields above the shifting sands of the cavern. From his Shai-Hulud, his things of eternity. He was surprised the trespasser had even gotten within the territory of the great worms without being killed, let alone finding a nest of the Sandtrout and stealing a handful of their spice.
He stared at the ragged man dangling between the two clay golems that had captured him.
'Kill him. Give him the Water of Life. He deserves a semi-enjoyable death for his efforts.'
The man looks into the blue on blue eyes of the Azhir, unsure of what to do, as another golem brings over a satchel of a viscuous, orange fluid. The golem forces open the mouth of the man and poors the fluid down. He goes into convulsions as the drug kills him pleasurably.
'Bring me his water when he is dead. I am sure the Ichwan Bedwin will need it.'

As the golems burn the withered body of the intruder, Adromolek looks upon the rune-carved doors he had bound into the base of the towers of Irem. Irem, the Pillared City lost to the sands of the dead. It stank deeply of the melange spice the Shai-Hulud created far above. He apporaches the first of several of the doors, each one leading to another place across the realms. This one lead to the city of demons, a place where he was almost as welcome as he was amongst the Ichwan Bedwine.

Adromelek walked through the door and into the squalor and night of the city of demons.

Jon Ton starts to walk along the rocky ground away from the caves, he searches for what he was searching for whe he entered the cave. " Demonic Items," His hat, mask and bow-tie are all demonic items he has found.

The towers of Irem stretch once again into his vision. The place was as empty and quiet as the day he awoke, the ten thousandth of the Azhir of Irem and the last, for Irem had payed for its sins and his death would means its freedom. He walked through the city, llooking at the crumbling statues of the men, women, and children all frozen in their last minutes before the city pertrified and died. He could sense their souls still within the stone, unable to escape until proper penance had been paid.
He heads for the center tower, the only one that strechted into the sand far above and out, into the daylight at the center of the Great Erg.

He stepped into the tower and ascended. A thousand steps, ten thousand, a million. He did not know, the tower stretched miles into the sky and up through the sand into the very center of the Erg, where Shai-Hulud miles long and thick romed at their pleasure and in places the ground was so thick with melange that one could not see sand. But this palce was dangerous, there was no rock to rest under to hide from the shade and the Shai-Hulud and there were only a few water caches and wind traps. Only naib of the sietches knew how to get half way this far, let alone to the great tower.

He moved out of the tower and onto the sand, moving rythmlessly like the desert wind to avoid the attentions of the great worms. He went out until the black sands around the tower ended, nearly a mile and an hour of slide and shifting forward at an uneven pace. He continues forward and pulls a long spike with a vibrating clapper on one end. He jams it into the ground with force and waits a moment. He twists the base of the clapper and it goes off, sending great vibrations through the ground beneath his feet.

He could see it from afar already, a testament to its size. The worm sign, the sign of the Shai-Hulud's movement near the surface. He ran as far as he could from the thumper as he drew the maker hooks, a pair of hooked bars used to grapple onto the Shai-Hulud, from beneath his robes. He gripped the handles firmly as he got to a position he hoped would be safe and waited.

He had grossly underestimated the size of this worm, the wave of sand ahead of it was a mile high. He had never heard of such a Maker before.
'The Grandfather Worm. You honor me with your presence and that you allow me to ride you!'
He yells in chakabsa to the wind. He rushes forward with the hooks ready, he would get one chance to catch its carapace. If he didn't he would fall to his death to be crushed by the worm. He makes the jump, jumping straight at the worm as it crashes over his thumper.

The worm continues to skid past him as he gets close. He swings the maker hook toward the worm to grab onto a carapace section. He continues to free fall for a minute. He had missed. HIs heart sank as he began to descend. He felt no weight from the hook. He knew he was about to die. He dropped. And felt a great tug as one hook catches. The worm begins to twist to keep the caught section of carapace above the sand, its flesh now excessible by the sand and irritation by it. He cries out in joy as he hooks the other maker hook in and directs the worm north towards the nearest sietch.

The worm travels far and fast, farther and faster than any other Maker ever has or will. It was a twenty-thumper trip to Sietch Tabr, a ten day trip, but the Grandfather Worm made it in a day and night. A feat unheard of ever. As he arrives he can almost see the amazed looks of the Bedwine watchers on the rocky outcrop surrounding the basin leading to the sietch. He knew they would be amazed at the worms size. He lets loose his maker hooks and kicks off as hard as possible. He flies of and the worm begins to dive. He dashes away to avoid being sucked down.

He walked towards the rocky outcropping, knoiwing there was nothing to worry about with the Grandfather Worm. He reaches the path up the hill and is greeted by woops and hollers from some of the younger and bolder of the Fedaykin warriors who protected Naib Wahdi's sietch. Several of them rush down to pat hiom on the ground and spit at his feet. He welcomes them back as well.

He walked up the ridge with the Fedaykin asking him questions that he answered willingly. He reached the top and looked into the empty basin where the Bedwine grew cacti and other desert plant in dirt transfered from other realms so that it would grew without as much fuss. He descended the outcropping and intom a well hidden cave leading into the sietch carved into the rock beneath the sand.
