As quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SuikodenQuote: Suikoden (幻想水滸伝, Gensō Suikoden) is a Japanese RPG videogame series created by Konami. The Suikoden series is loosely based on a classical Chinese novel, Shui Hu Zhuan (Outlaws of the Marsh), by Shi Nai'an and Luo Guanzhong. Each game centers around relative themes of politics, corruption, revolution, mystical orbs known as True Runes, and the "108 Stars of Destiny"—108 protagonists also very loosely interpreted from the source material. Though the games follow an irregular chronological sequence, the entire series takes place within the same world among overlapping histories. In some cases, several characters appear in multiple installations. The games, standard to most RPGs, commonly feature random over world and dungeon battles, inn-based game saves, a turn-based, menu-operated combat system, mini-games and side quests. Saved game data can be transferred from Suikoden I to Suikoden II, and Suikoden II to Suikoden III (Suikogaiden Vol.1 can also receive data from Suikoden II, and is transferable to Suikogaiden Vol.2, but only in Japan). Suikoden implements many innovative features as each title allows players, in varying degrees, to: conduct strategically pitched war campaigns. participate in turn based, one-on-one duels. build a immensely large headquarters that grows as the story progresses (and only develops fully if all the characters are recruited). recruit from a colorful cast of 108 pre-determined characters, each specializing in various aspects of combat or support. Essentially, each game follows the plot formula of a coup d'état by corrupt power holder(s), the main protagonist's exile from his/her home, the disastrous misuse of the True Runes, the hero's struggle, despite overwhelming odds, to bring peace to the land alongside his/her friends, and the climactic showdown with the corrupted True Rune.

Bernadette EganSuikoden V As quoted from ]http://suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=56Quote: Vice-Captain of the Lino En Kuldes, flagship of the Island Nations Federation Fleet, Bernadette Egan is the youngest daughter of Skald Egan. Bernadette is a calm, capable soldier who joins with the Prince as the official representative of the Island Nations. Bernadette has seven brothers and sisters, who vary in fields from soldiers, to shipping agents, to former Commanders of the Queen's Knights of Falena. Yes, unbeknownst to many, including his children, Ferid is one of her brothers, making Bernadette the aunt of Queen Lymsleia and the Prince. Bernadette is known to be a quick thinker and thinks of clever strategies. When pirates threaten to burn down a lighthouse, she quick advises for a pincer attack. When pirates hold a boy hostage, she thinks of using Chisato's vocal talents to dupe the pirates.

Cathari Suikoden V As quoted from ]http://suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=139Quote: A member of the Howling Voice Guild, Cathari was well-acquainted with Lucretia Merces, Cathari traveled all the way to Falena because of Harmonia's interest in Falena, Armes, and Nagarea. She wanted to get to Sol-Falena initially, but because of the war, she couldn't. She bumped into the Prince, and had him take her to Lucretia, whom she hadn't seen in a decade. Cathari believes it would be in her interest not to let situations in Falena get out of hand, so she serves the Prince. Cathari, like many members of the Howling Voice Guild, uses guns, although she believes arrows are scarier because they've killed many more people and are more accurate. Cathari's tactics with guns are mainly bluffs, but she has to know how to use the gun inside and out in case the gun doesn't scare someone.

Jeane As quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeane_(Suikoden)Quote: Jeane (ジーン) is a recurring character in the Suikoden role playing game series for the Playstation and Playstation 2. When recruited she acts as your headquarters runemaster. She has appeared in every game of the series so far even despite Suikoden 4 taking place 150 years before the Gate Rune War. Name: Jeane Origin: Unknown Age: Unknown Height : 163 cm Race: Human (?) Rune: Charm Rune Wars involved in: Island Liberation War, Sun Rune War, Gate Rune Wars, Dunan Unification War, Second Fire Bringer War Jeane is one of the more mysterious characters in the game, along with Yuber, Pesmerga, Viki, and Leknaat. She has appeared in all the games with the exception of Suikogaiden vol. 2, but very little is ever revealed about her past or background. The games she has appeared in span over centuries, yet she appears to never age. When the creators of Suikoden were interviewed, they mentioned that, "All of Jeane's family look alike," though this appears to have been said in a humorous light. Nonetheless, some believe that Jeane has family members all over the world with her exact appearance and personality traits (giggling frequently, answering questions evasively, and knowing a great deal about runes). Other players believe that Jeane is the same person in all the Suikodens. Many recurring characters, including Viki, Nash, and Futch, seem to believe she is the same person. Nash notes that she "never seems to change." In Suikoden V, Genoh perceives her to be of great age, but is confused by her youthful appearance. When you ask detectives to find out more about her, they are never able to provide any information beyond the obvious. The more deeply you ask them to prod, the more they will seem to be confused, as if they have been spellbound. Some even seem too frightened to continue their investigation. Suikoden IV has "confessionals" instead of investigations; of course, Jeane "confesses" nothing but seems amused by the scenario. Jeane also has a Charm Rune on her which may cause men--and perhaps even some women--to be very fascinated by or attracted to her (though she seems to manage to do that on looks alone). Some have wondered if it is the Charm Rune itself that causes her to appear so voluptuous and beautiful. In Suikoden V, Jeane was given a deeper role to play within the game and participates to a small degree in the plot. She seems to have met Zerase before, and the mysterious "Bearer of the Stars" seems to respect Jeane's considerable power as a rune master. Jeane can apparently "force" some runes onto a bearer that usually can only be possessed by a person whom the Rune chooses(i.e., the Twilight Rune). This has some limitations--she cannot do such a thing with the Sun Rune (although on the other hand, she may have only pretended to not be able to force-activate the Sun Rune due to the destruction it could cause). She also seems to have a connection to very ancient ruins in Falena which used to be from the Old Armes Kingdom, which was destroyed by the Sun Rune a very long time ago.

Luserina BarowsSuikoden V As quoted from http://suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=450Quote: The eldest daughter of the Barows household, Luserina is a quiet, capable, extremely kind young girl who possesses none of her father's treachery or her brother's ineptness. In fact, she is an extremely capable young lady, managing most of the affairs of Rainwall by herself. Luserina is introduced to the Prince when he seeks shelter in Rainwall following the Godwin takeover of the country. She takes care of them, and has Chuck handle their belongings. Despite her kindness, Luserina often feels put off by her father, who insists that she and the Prince become closer. When Salum suggested that Luserina and the Prince be married, she gets very angry with him for suggesting it. Ultimately, Luserina decides to side with the Prince over her father, when she realizes that he's planning to consolidate power through marriage and alliance, and that the Prince will probably be hurt as a result. [...] After finding the rune, Luserina breaks all ties with her family, and joins with the Prince's army. She manages many of the Prince's affairs, but can't shake the guilt whenever her brother Euram tries to humiliate or harm the Prince. However, neither the Prince nor the members of his army think any less of her because of him. After the war, Luserina continues the effort to rebuild, even donating the mansion in Rainwall to rebuild. She then became an administrator in the new government. As quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luserina_BarowsQuote: Name: Luserina Barows Origin: Rainwall Age: 18 (Suikoden V) Race: Human Family: Salum Barows (father), Euram Barows (older brother). Affiliation: Prince of Falena's Royalist Army Events Involved In: Falenan Civil War

Miakis"Mee-ah-keez"Suikoden V As quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiakisQuote: Miakis is a character from the Genso Suikoden series of roleplaying games Suikoden V. She is a member of the Queen's Knights in the Queendom of Falena and the personal bodyguard of Princess Lymsleia. Origin: Sauronix Castle, Queendom of Falena Age: 22 (Suikoden V) Race: Human Rune: Shield Rune (removable) Affiliation: Queen's Knights, Prince of Falena's Royalist Army Events Involved In: Falenan Civil War As quoted from http://suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=370Quote: A Queen's Knight and the bodyguard of Princess Lymsleia, Miakis is a cheerful, energetic young woman who is quick to play practical jokes on the Princess as well as make off-the-wall comments. Miakis grew up in Sauronix Castle, her father extremely close to Craig Laden. Miakis grew up a complete tomboy, sparring with many of the boys there, and beating them all. Craig, Roog, and Rahal are just some of the boys she whipped. She wanted to join the Dragon Cavalry, but, since women are not permitted there, Craig sent her to Ferid instead. Ferid noticed her skill and let her become a Queen's Knight. Miakis is never found far from the Princess's side, and, whenever Lym goes tromping through the halls looking for her brother, Miakis is usually found bringing up the rear. Like the Princess she watches, she is also fond of the Prince, poking fun at him, as well as asking him to bring souvenirs whenever he goes out.

SagiriSuikoden V As quoted from ]http://suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=102Quote: An ex-assassin from Nether Gate, Sagiri was trained at an early age to follow orders and kill, even before understanding the preciousness of human life. Nether Gate's chief trainer of assassins believed that having a little girl smile at the target would get them off their guard. Because of this, Sagiri was trained to smile all the time, no matter how she felt. One of the many people Sagiri killed as an assassin was Nakula's father, a hard-line Armes chieftain. After Nether Gate disbanded, Sagiri was taken in by Oboro and Shigure, and went into business with them. They started a detective agency, and Sagiri worked as an investigator. She often motivates the lazy Shigure to do his job. She meets the Prince when he hires Oboro to investigate Lord Barows's actions during the Lordlake rebellion. She tails Norden and brings him to the ship, and he confesses afterward. When Oboro joins the Prince's army, Sagiri opts not to fight. She apologizes to the Prince, but she doesn't want to kill people anymore. Oboro accepts this, but allows Sagiri to stay with them. Even though not an official member of the Prince's army, Sagiri helps in investigating, and in setting a trap per Lucretia's request in Doraat. It isn't until Nakula, seeking revenge for his father, finds Sagiri. Shigure and Oboro defend her, and Nakula agrees to help the Prince, since Nether Gate is now an army working for Godwin. He tells Sagiri he will deal with her later, and she accepts, and will not run anymore. She joins the Prince's army officially. Sagiri's smile does not fade from the eight years after Nether Gate disbands. Although, after the war ends, Sagiri returns to the detective business, her smile slipping every so often.

Viki As quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VikiQuote: Viki (ビッキー) is a recurring character in the Konami's role playing game series Suikoden. She has appeared in all five main games as a recruitable character and made an appearance in Suikogaiden Vol 2. Star of Destiny: Chibin Origin: Unknown Age: 16 Race: Human Height: 158 cm Rune: Blinking Rune Affiliation: None Previous Affiliations: Island Nations Unification Army, Prince of Falena's Royalist Army, Toran Liberation Army, Dunan Unification Army, Second Fire Bringer Events Involved in: Kooluk Southern Expansion War, Sun Rune War, Gate Rune War, Dunan Unification War, Second Fire Bringer War Viki is a cheerful and very clumsy young girl with great talent for magic. Her usage of the Blinking Rune allows her to directly warp people to any location in which they have already been before, and her ability to use most other magical runes is exemplary. However, her clumsy nature causes her to be very prompt to make mistakes during casting, and she has a strange tendency to unwillingly warp things, people and even herself to random locations, particularly after sneezing. As quoted from http://suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=128Quote: Viki is a magician specializing in teleportation. She is one of the few who possesses the Blinking Rune. No one knows where she has come from, but in her sleep, she has been known to say "Waffu..." which seems to have something to do with where she is from. She is trying to return to her homeland, but has been unsuccessful for a long time. She ended up participating in several major wars, spanning hundreds of years, but did not age between the wars, due to her not only teleporting wrong, but also moving through time by the incredible bad luck she has. When she bumped into Nash in a forest in Harmonia, she teleported him to an odd dimesion. There they meet a younger Viki who acted considerably more mature than Viki herself. She said that her name was Viki and told the other Viki and Nash how to get out of the odd dimension. Nash asked if she is Viki and she told him, "it's better to not know that..." Her odd teleportation patterns cause confusion for those she comes across - for example, Lorelai, having first met Viki in the Twilight Forest in Falena, is surprised when Viki does not recognize her later when fighting together in the Sun Rune War, failing to understand that her first meeting with Viki was the result of Viki teleporting from several years in the future - as a result, at that time, she had never seen Lorelai before in her life.
