The young mother finally decided to take her pups outside. She had learned a lot about motherhood in the past couple of weeks, but her pups were only beginning to show their personalities, and she wanted to get to know them better. She knew that Zor, as she had fondly nicknamed the boy, was much more timid that his sister, but she had seen the two butt heads for the best spot at her belly before. Neither of them were aggressive, which was a huge relief for her. Much as she was enjoying being a mother, she wasn't all that keen on the idea of puppy teeth on her skin, especially her sensitive belly.

So, she carried Zor out of their den, allowing Tsuki, the more independent of the two, to walk beside her. Finally, they reached their destination: the watering hole. The sun was just coming up and the water shone with warm pastels. Lele loved the water, and she hoped to introduce her pups early enough that they would, too.

Zor was still sleepy. He was dozing in his mother's jaws all the way to the watering hole, and when she set him down, he felt like curling up at her paws. There was a new scent in the air though, once that he had smelled once more the time that water had poured from the sky... that was it! Water! His blue eyes brightened and he looked to his sister, then his mother.

"What's that?" he asked curiously, flicking his fluffy little tail towards the pond.

"It's called the watering hole," she explained calmly. "It's a pond full of water." She spoke to both of them, looking between her son and her daughter. "You two have drank water in the past, but I don't think you've ever seen this much of it in one place!" With bright eyes, she sat down - a signal for the pups to go and explore, though her sharp eyes would watch carefully and make sure they stayed safe.

The outside world had always fascinated Tsuki. She had, on certain special occasions, seen blades of sunlight seep through the den's walls, although this had occurred when her eyes had only begun to open.
At that time, Tsuki had only been a few weeks old, and had only began her journey... she had been awakening from a blind world. Despite all this, although it had only been a few weeks, Tsuki was already beginning to forget all recollection of her birthing.

But she knew. She knew that it must have been a breath-taking event. One day, she'd ask her mother all about it.
How she and Yozora came to being.

"Uh!"

She came quickly to her senses as Umilele pulled to a sudden halt. Flailing, the pup crashed into the back of her mother, lost her footing, and stumbled.

"W...whoah! Mum! Tell me when you're stopping, why don't'cha?" she whined, "You know, I could have been ki..."

Tsuki quickly looked about her, and drew in a deep breath. All her words suddenly were lost. The view before her was too spectacular for Tsuki to... grasp.

Wow. Just... wow.

Sparkling water. Everywhere. There was... so much of it!
The glistening liquid around her made Tsuki feel smaller than usual. It was wild.

It was the 'Outside World'.

"C...can we touch it, Mum?" the little white wild dog tilted her head. It looked safe, but her instincts already told her that looks could be deceiving. Tsuki wasn't sure if the water was alive... it could, instantly, leap up and grab her.

Lele smiled down at Tsuki, the tip of her tail twitching with pleasure at her daughter's curiosity coupled with her caution. She only hoped that her pups would stay that way, and not start rebelling and putting their lives in danger! "Yes, you can," she assured Tsuki. "Just don't go too far into it. Only go until it hits your knees. I'll teach you two to swim, but I want you to get accustomed to the water first."

Zor listened in awe, his blue eyes wide. The water was amazing, and tempting. Even at dawn, the savannah was warm, and the thought of the cool water lapping at his fur sounded incredibly appealing.

He looked cautiously at his sister before padding up to the very edge of the water. "Wow!" he yipped as he saw his shimmering reflection. Burning with curiosity, he bent over and tried to touch his nose to the other pup staring at him, but he instead found his muzzle drenched in cold water. Yelping with surprise, he went tumbling into the watering hole, thankfully staying where he could still stand up.

"Whoops," he said with a sheepish grin towards his family.

Tsuki grinned.

Yozora's reaction was certainly amusing, and she thought it a great laugh that he had gotten drenched first.

'However,' she thought, mischievously, 'By the end of the day, I'll make sure I make Zor much wetter than he is right now..."

The plan was set. Tsuki was going to try and push her brother in. But not now... she planned to get to know the water first. Even she would not resort to dirty pranks if she knew her brother couldn't swim. Lele, 'Mother', would need to teach them first. She was looking forward to it!
Like Zor, Tsuki found that the winds were warm... and once sunrise would come, the African sun would then, most likely, bear down on them with intense heat.

The waterhole sure looked inviting.

"Zor, that was so cool! You, like, went in first... and you're muzzle was all... drippin' and stuff! " she gave a chuckle, then followed with a brief wag of her tail, "But, you know... I bet you that I'm going to become braver than you when I grow up!"

That was some form of challenge.

With this, she dipped a whole paw in the water... and yanked it out again as the cold bit through her coat.

"Ah! It's ch...chilly, Mum! Look, Zor... it's chilly... and it's moving!"

She stared in wonder as the water rippled. It was so different from the firm and solid earth on which she and her brother were standing upon now. However, she realised, the closer they got to the water, the softer the sand beneath their paws would become.

She smiled, and her eyes softened as the water dripped about her. Such wonderful things her mother showed them, such wonderful memories they were making. This childhood was purely brilliant.
It would be days like these that she would remember, when she had grown to a full wolf. It would be days like these that she'd look back upon, and smile about.

"Thankyou, Mummy," she whispered, under her breath, gratitude sinking in, "Thankyou for looking after me. Thankyou for Yozora."

And then, with a grin, she rushed in after her brother, laughing, off to make some more wonderful memories that she would never, ever forget.
