 Guess I wanted to shoot for a Coupling topic as well... I am an avid fan of AeriSeph and CloTi, but I hold Yuffentine so close to my heart. Why? Because it was Yuffentine that brought me back to FF7 and made me a CloTi and an AeriSeph...
The Yuffentine coupling... Most people crave and want the Lucrecia/Vincent, or in my words Lucrecent, coupling. But, no offense to them, I have just have had this coupling close at home. More on that later...Note! This topic will have LARGE portions of spoilers from the new DoC game. Maybe even some spoilers of the AC movie... Though, if you're an FF7 fan and haven't seen the movie, get out from under the rock, please.... DoC: Good rent, bad buy... Buy it when it's cheap...Backgrounds:Vincent, the Vampirac Gunslinger. When found by the group, was always dark and stotic. He thought to himself that everything that had happened was his fault and his fault only. He felt he was powerless to help Lucrecia, and felt he could have stopped Hojo from experimenting on their child, the man who in the future would almost end the world, Sephiroth.
When he was given the Chaos gene to revive him from Lucrecia, all he could feel was guilt and anguish when he saw what had happened. He felt he had no right to show any feeling what so ever, love especially. So he kept to himself most of the time, and tried as hard as he could to stay in the darkness.Yuffie, the Wutain Princess who wished she wasn't. She was the heir to the throne of Wutai. She hated how the once great land of ninjas was reduced to being a Tourist Trap and Resort. Yuffie would rather travel the world than to be a Princess as it was, but Wutai as it was now, she didn't want to be it anymore as if it was still the Wutai of old. She wanted desperately to bring her homeland back to it's greatness once again, so she devised a plan to help.
The ninja decided to steal materia in hopes of bringing back power to her country. Though she had good intent, what she did wasn't the best thing. As I always put it, "Doing the right thing for the wrong reasons..." After trying to steal materia from Avalanche, she told them of her situation and forgiven, and joined the group on their quest to save the Planet.Personality Wise: Vincent, as said above, is often to himself and 'chooses' to not show too much emotion. His past really hurt him, and though he didn't want to show emotion, this is NOT to be confused with apathy.
Though he chooses not to show emotion, this doesn't mean he doesn't feel. This is proved in the new Dirge of Cerberus game, you shouldn't buy it for $50, but it's a good rent or good buy for $20 or something... One example is when in the level where you fight the first Black Widow and attacked by Rosso the Crimson, a room he finds Lucrecia. You can see his surprise and see his more human side when he finds the hologram...Yuffie is the DIRECT opposite of Vincent's present attitude. She is a very fun loving, hyper-active, and as it seems air-sick ninja. Somewhat ironic, no? The ninja, often associated with being always serious and cold, yet the daughter of one of the greatest ninja of Wutai has an ADHD type attitude. Guess that's why she can be so funny to some, yet so annoying to others...
Regardless, though sometimes vain, she always means well in her actions. Trying to keep her teenanger-like attitude, yet become more mature in the process.

Compatability:
Now, one of the 2 big questions of Yuffentine, "Just how do they fit in with each other?"
What I have always said is that the two are opposite, they complete each other in a way. Yuffie is trying to become somewhat more mature, and Vincent can help her in that aspect. Vincent, although he may not want it right now, needs to open up more to the world. Yuffie is the most likely, the hyper and girl who isn't afraid to show her feelings, to teach him that lesson.
As said before, Vincent is often cold and has locked himself away and wants to keep his heart from showing any emotion. Yuffie would be the one to come close to him and get to know him. She's probably the one who has a heart big enough to try and get into his.
If she was able to get close to him, and try and get him to open up even a little, the two just have a love that reminds me so much of my grandparents that will be covered in the next post....

Age Difference:
As all FF7 fans know, or should know, Vincent and Yuffie have one of the biggest age differences out there. Vincent is a good 60 during DoC while Yuffie is 19. Now, most people say that that age difference is enough of an excuse that their love is never meant to be. I, however, would like to concur...
Here is a post I had way back when at page 8 in the "Who is the p3fect girl for Vincent" topic.
"...Look, the Yuffentine pairing has worked in the past and has worked in real life. Need any proof, look at my grandpa. When he lost his first wife, and in their case it was similar to AeriSeph, he was old and very unsocial.
Then, a young girl came to his house and helped him out in his life. She was very enegetic, and though a few people didn't like her, she just wanted to help out in any way she could. Another thing is, Grandpa and the girl he is now marring have a good 40 year age difference, grandpa at 81+ and Beth at 36 to 40.
They are in many ways parallels, them both having conflicting personalities and a large age difference, yet they both love each other dearly. And despite Grandpa mourning the loss of his last love, he was able to find love again in her.... "
Simply put, Grandpa and Beth are similar to Vincent and Yuffie. Grandpa was a War Veteran of World War 2, similar as Vincent was a former Turk, and had suffered a loss of love when Grandma died, similar as to when Lucrecia was turned into a diamond.
Beth was very similar to Yuffie. She just had a very fun loving attitude, and though not many people liked her because of her attitude, she just wanted to be herself.
When Grandpa was sad and cold, Beth came into his life and helped him regain his warmth. Because, when you play DoC, you see that Vincent had a kind and somewhat teen-like attitude before he was experimented on. Very similar to Grandpa before he was in the war and before Grandma died.
Despite the age difference, despite their differences in attitude at the time, they were still able to find love with each other. Beth helped him regain his loving attitude, and Grandpa helped her even out and still keep her fun attitude.
I like to call them the Modern Day Yuffentines, because they remind me so much of the coupling... That's why it really hits close to home whenever I think of Yuffentine, and always puts a smile to my face when I think about it...
I am not saying their experiences are exactly alike, but the similarities are just so scary. If it could happen in the real world, I just can't stop thinking that it could happen in Final Fantasy...

2.) I am open for well-thought out arguments. THAT, I am okay with. I will not, however, tolerate it when a person comes to this topic to randomly flame or bash the topic and the fans.
3.) You do not have to be a hardcore fan, but if you are a fan, or just agree with it without being a fan, feel free to post. Or, if you are going to do something like Rule 2, then that's all right, too.
4.) If you're posting pictures, please keep them under 550 width to stop the possibility of page stretching.
5.) If you're going to post fanfics, please post the links. Also, try and not post ones that are R or higher. Try and keep it ToS, aight?

Why do you ask about the AeriSeph? neutral Nothing, just that AeriSeph and Yuffentine seem slightly, SLIGHTLY, similar... Simeelahr... I know I can't make you an AeriSeph or a Sephiroth fan, but it's all right. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, I should really know that... It's great to know you support it. Not too much Yuffentines I know, but, there are and always will be... Heck, I may put up a "Soaring Hearts, the Cid and Shera Pilots," topic later on... Doubt it, but I might....

Um...thanks but...I probably wouldn't really respond to that.
Shera's not that interesting a character...there wouldn't be much to discuss. sweatdrop And the relationship is rather inevitable. They get married sometime before AC.

They're a very cute couple. As for the age difference, Vincent slept for 30 years, so his mentality is a great deal younger than his chronilogical age. Age differences aren't as much of a problem as some think. For example, I'm 19 and my husband is 26 and we have a very loving relationship. ^_^
