Malaguena's a pretty cool tune, for latin jazz. Manteca for groups. But I can't really say much else.

I really don't know any bands that play those explicitly. Try checking the net. You can find ANYTHING there. I once found a place you could by an old WWII Russian battle tank.
And I am partial to Bossa Nova myself, so if you find any good Bossa Nova bands, can ya' let me know? thanks.

Bossa Nova you cant go wrong with Antonio Carlos Jobim or Stan Getz
Latin jazz you could look into Poncho Sanchez there's a particular cd called Miami Jam that has some of the best latin artists in it like Poncho Sanchez, Arturos Sandoval Steve Turre and many more.
Tito Puente is one of the more accessible artists out there for latin jazz, too bad i never got to see him before he passed away.
look into Afro Cuban music too it's pretty awsome, Dizzy Gillespie did alot of that sort of music.

Anyway, latin is awsome, Girl from Impanima (i dont know if i spellen that right) is the only thing i play with a bossa nova pattern and its 2/3 bossa nova. its fun eventhough i get lost easly. redface

I love the CD Jazz Samba, it's by Stan Getz and Charie Byrd. I Also really like The Colors of Latin Jazz: Soul Sauce! It's a collection of songs from various artists

I can't be of much help here, but I must say I share your appreciation for latin jazz and the like. Sac State over where I am has a pretty good latin group, and in my school's jazz ensemble Latin pieces were always fun for me, as a bassist.
