What's this guild about?This guild is dedicated to the Life Issues sub-forum in the General Discussion. This is a place that provides the Oldbies, Regulars, Advice Seekers, and/or Advice Givers a place to hang out and have fun in. It's also a place to seek advice or give advice if that's something that you would like to participate in. Unlike other guilds that provide communities to give advice towards certain subjects as love, sex, parenting, and more, this is a guild that doesn't have any specific topic. Furthermore, it provides any user from any forum a community to talk in if they would like to. Other than that, this should be a pretty laid back place so come in and have some fun.

I finally got the Entry Fee error fixed for users that were already invited so within a few days we're going to go public with the guild. Just have to revise a few things. I hope it's a big success.

Grand Opening today, finally. We've had some setbacks but I think it'll be successful and hopefully we can give advice while having fun.

The guild has been open for a few days, the Grand Opening is done, it should have been done a long time ago though.
The guild is a little slow but it's coming along.

Moving the annoucement thread into the News Thread.
Today we've officially broken the 100 member mark. Since this is a non-elitist guild, we welcome anyone who regularly posts in Life Issues to join. Recommend us to your fellow LI friends to make this the premier Life Issues guild!

There's a new User Recommendation thread for anyone that wants to invite a user to this guild. Feel free to post anyone's user name there. We'll look at them as soon as we can and after we review the person we'll invite them (unless they don't meet the standards).

We've now become the most populous "Life Issues" specific guild. As soon as Life Issues gets that nifty "associated guilds" button, we'll be on the top of the list.

Life Issues Hangout has now passed the 200 member milestone. We've far surpassed the other Life Issues-related guilds in membership, and we hope that we continue to grow. Please support us by adding a LIH banner in your signature.
In other guild related news, a guild council will soon be created to help administer the guild. An announcment will be made when the details are final.

With a unanimous vote from Soleq and I the Life Issues Hangout Oldbies Thread will be un-stickied.
Background:
The LIH Oldbie thread was created for the people that went to Life Issues a long time ago. The set date was a year but some have been there for longer. It's for all the people that have been there for a while to just catch up on old things. Maybe they could talk about old threads or old times, whatever they wanted to really.
Why we felt it should be un-stickied:
We felt that it should be un-stickied because there have been reports in the past that this guild is an elitist guild and we felt that the main reason was because of our LIH Oldbie thread. A lot of the people that reported it being so, specifically saying that they don't want to be apart of a guild that awards users who have been somewhere longer and not to users who haven't. We want to be anything but elitists so we decided that the thread wasn't appropriate.
Comments:
I never saw the thread as being elitist, just a thread merely to talk with other people who have been in LI for a long time, but that can be done on other terms. Maybe the oldbies of LI can put a little something together.
Other stuff regarding the issue:
Instead of having an LIH we're thinking about a Hall of Fame or something. It's still up for debate.
- Debating whether to lock the thread or not.
Things for the Future:
- sub-forums directed towards advice specifically. All sub-forum issues are still up for debate so that will be left general.
- Work on the Guild Council.
- Try to liven this place up more with an event. We're considering something along the lines of advice.
Other comments:
If there's any confusion about the Guild Council then you can direct any questions or comments to Soleq or ButterBalls. The main reason why the Guild Council was created was to establish a better form of government in the Life Issues Hangout other than a dictatorship. Instead of two people representing the entire guild, we'll now have a lot more people voting in their opinions and such. We're trying to come up with a better representation other than Soleq and I making all the decisions.

With a unanimous vote from Soleq and ButterBalls the thread "Get Reliable Advice From the LI Regulars" is now set to normal from Announcement status.
The reason we felt that it should be set to a normal thread is because the ammount of traffic it was getting (which was none) didn't live up to being an Announcement. Another main reason is that the thread is kind of redundant in that the entire Life Issues Hangout guild is dedicated to giving advice so making a thread with no specific issue is what the regular threads are usual for. It's really just not needed. The other reason is that it's kind of elitist because you have to have been in LI specifically for a certain time frame to give advice in that thread. We're trying not to be an elitist guild.
If you have any questions or comments just PM one of us and we'll answer or reply to the best of our ability.
Another thing I would like to add is the Link List announcement about 2 weeks to a month ago was locked. The thread has been unlocked for a few weeks. If you have any sites or urls that you would like to add please feel free to post in that thread what you have, we'll check the site, and if there's nothing wrong with it we'll add it. It would be very helpful if you could post any sites that you might know of. You can also PM it to one of us too.
