It had been quite some time since he had last encountered the company of any Soquili. This was not due to being inapproachable but more so due to his desire to continue with his travel. Not that it was a problem, but he found it rather disturbing to find that very few Soquili had stumbled upon his path as though a great many preferred to remain in one set area as opposed to seeking out new, potential territories.
...Well, it was their loss.
Nevertheless, as the stallion now took to observing the lands below from his position on the cliff face, he allowed himself a brief moment to close his eyes and to savour the rather strong winds as they brushed passed his muzzle and caused the ornaments upon his head to jingle rather rapidly - a surprisingly musical sound that travelled quite some distance.
He released a sigh though and once again opened his eyes, fixing them upon the forests below and the small waterfall within his line of sight. The cliff was almost shapped like a large hoof from where he was standing and thus, he could afford to see into a small portion of the forest below...perhaps he would have seen more if the cliff was higher but alas, it wasn't.
"Hm." Releasing a small snort he swivelled his ears somewhat in an attempt to locate any foreign sounds but as of yet there were none, suffice to sya, all that were present were the usual wild life that lurked here.

In the forest at the foot of the cliff, completely unaware of the stallion's wandering eyes, Ailurinae stood completely motionless. Her eyes were closed, and only the smallest hint of a smile touched her face. She had visited this forest quite a few times, and was very fond of all the sights and sounds she experienced there.
At that moment, she was appreciating the cheerful calling of the birds, and the gentle whispering of the wind as it worked its way through her mane and tail. Nearby, she could hear the soft but sharp sound of a waterfall as it crashed down into a pond that was undoubtedly full of beautiful and colourful fish.
Her smile growing, the mare opened her eyes, taking a moment to allow her amber orbs to adjust to the glaring sun that peeked through various gaps and holes in the canopy. With a small flick of her head, she reared up and let out a joyful neigh, before galloping towards the the waterfall.
Upon her arrival, her smile grew even wider. It was a glorious sight. Although the waterfall was small, it was equal in beauty to even the biggest waterfall she had ever seen. Still in awe of it all, despite the fact that she had been here before, she slowly walked up towards the pond.
"Hello my shiny friends." She said with a laugh as she caught sight of a school of fish, just before they darted away at the sight of her reflection in the crystal pool. It seemed as though her smile would never fade as she lowered her head for a drink. It had been a while since she had been this happy.

Canopy. Birds. Grass. Ailurinae. Waterfall.
He gave a started and was promptly forced to take a second glance as he allowed his eyes to trail across the surrounding forest once more. He had grown so used to being on his own and away from the company of Soquili for so long that he didn't always recognise one when he saw them - or rather he did recognise them, he simply didn't register the identity until it was too late.
Even so, as he flitted his gaze over the canopy once more and relocated the waterfall he arched a brow and waited until his eyes became accustomed to the new fixture upon the grass. Not everything was black and white he would have Soquili know, especially in that pattern on their pelts.
"Ailurinae." He murmured softly, his ears swivelling once more as he gave a shake of his head to readjust his mane before turning on his 'heel' to walk down the rather small slope at the back of the cliff towards it's base.
She was a pleasurable sight to say the least, in fact he had rather hoped to see her again but the mere sight of her actually caused a rather overwhelming sense of discomfort to overcome his usually calm and regal demeanor. In their first meeting things seemed to have gone rather well until she abruptly told him she had to leave as though she had discovered he wasn't quite the stallion she thought he was so how was he to know if she would do it again?
Shaking his head, he continued on his way through the forest, eyes fixed forward and hair ornaments chiming delicately with each stride he took and the gentle caress of the breeze against them. Well, he was growing accustomed to rejection in these parts, he would just be better prepared this time round.
And thus, as he drew near the clearing, his ears twitching at the 'thunderous' sound of the small waterfall, he paused briefly to ensure he remained shrouded in shadow and took the time to observe the rather coy female.
"Do my eyes deceive me, or does this Nymph smile as autumn approaches?" He enquired at last, breaking his silence but remaining hidden.

Ailurinae was still drinking, and was too close to the waterfall to notice the familiar jingling sound that meant that a certain stallion was nearby. It was only after Paramekia spoke that she jerked her head up, almost choking on the water that was still in her mouth as she did so. "Paramekia?!" She gasped, after swallowing the water without incident.
Of course she was happy to see him, but more than anything, she was shocked. In all the times she had visited this forest, she had never encountered another Soquili. Yet, here she stood, facing the kindest stallion she had ever met. Her smile faltered slightly as she recalled how their last meeting had ended. She still felt bad about leaving so abruptly like that, but rather that than make an even bigger fool of herself.
Her body shifted slightly as she tried to regain her composure. There was no way she could make a fool of herself infront of him again. He didn't seem like the type that would tolerate on-going stupidity. "It- it's nice to see you again."

"I assure you that the feeling is mutual." Nodding his head ever so slightly he fought against the urge to lift a brow at the surprise in her voice and instead, maintained a rather stoic expression. He had taken note that everyone seemed to storm off when he lifted a brow and thus, lowering it would perhaps make this mare feel more comfortable...especially when she was the only one he ever intended to do such a thing for.
"And how have you been this last few days?" He continued, flicking his ear ever so slightly against the soft breeze which had otherwise caused an unwanted strand of hair to intrude upon its tip. "Or has it been weeks...?" Furrowing a brow he tried to recall the last time he had encountered her and failed miserably (to say the least), he had rather lost track of time while wandering.
Still, not one to miss a beat, he did eventually reveal himself as he stepped out of the shadows and gave a soft whicker, there was no use forcing the girl to be unnecessarily rude by not looking towards him when he spoke...after all, he didn't require any ammunition for verbal fights, did he?

Ailurinae's smile returned as the male stepped into the light. Bathed in the sun's light, he didn't seem quite as mysterious as he had done when bathed in the moon's light, but he was still as handsome as ever. "Weeks, I think." Her ears rolled back slightly as she tried to recall exactly how much time had passed since their last meeting. She had thought about him quite a lot in that time.
A soft neigh radiated in her throat, accompanied soon after by a rather solemn expression. "I'm sorry I left so abruptly." She sighed, her gaze falling a little towards the ground. "It wasn't very polite of me."

"Ah, do not concern yourself with such trivial thoughts, I am sure you had your reasons for taking your leave so abruptly." He smiled in a somewhat strained manner, his ears swivelling round towards her as he tried to push the idea out of his head that he was in fact more than inclined to believe that she had fled because she had disliked his presence...rather like the other three thousand mares he had met before.
Meh.
"Yet you still have yet to answer my question." Pausing briefly to readjust his position and to shift the robes away from his hind feet he canted his head to the side and lifted a brow ever so slightly, "How have you faired in the last few weeks, m'lady. I do hope you were well?" If anything, he supposed that if she had any problems then he would be the gallant knight and deal with them but at the moment he wasn't really sure that coming any closer was a good idea.
...True, she had no horns but the mares without them tended to be more vicious!
