I'd really appreciate all tips about inking, cause I need a lot of help with it.

That looks rockin xd You've really improved 3nodding Hm.. inking tips? Um.. I think that inking just takes a lot of practice o.o Try to get the finest tip liquid ink pen you can find so that the details come out more clear. Other than that, I think you're doing fine smile heart

As for inking tips, hm... I don't shade when i ink, since I haven't quite found a way to make i look right stressed (that doesn't mean you can't, that's just personal experience... Try looking at comics, even the sunday funnies, they generally have good ideas about shading in ink) I don't fully ink the hair either, I usually give an outline and leave it at that, but again, that's just me 3nodding (but if you are going to ink the hair, don't forget the ring of shiny light gonk oh how it eludes me even after all this time) Try adding some different line thicknesses, i find that adds depth & intrest... domokun yup, these be Kai's inking tips o' the day.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess it must just be the pen I'm using to ink, but I can never get the really smooth ink lines I see all of you guys getting... gonk

Also, I can't ever get it to be one solid color. Zoom in and it's all greys and schtuff. confused

I really like the look of your pencils.. what kind of pencil do you use?
lately I have a hard time with anything that isn't a really hard lead- but then it's so light the scanner doesn't pick it up so great-

Thanks... I use #2 regular pencil... lots of them have different textures, and I'm picky so I only use the ones I like. More woody type pencils than the ones that look waxy.

Plus, I always adjust the levels in photoshop. My lines always look really faint after I scan them in, but I play around with levels which is under Adjustments on... umm, can't remember which tab, I think it's the 3rd one. 3nodding

I'm also in the habit of using the paint tool to erase mistakes, so it's not a true sketch. whee
