Durithill the Black Blade Captain
|
Posted: Wed Sep 20, 2006 8:02 pm

The Forbidden Realm was once a paradise, but the combination of the Kamtaka War and the war between the members of the Tomsaruka family destroyed it. It is now a delsolate wasteland, long since abandoned by any sane being. Ruins decorate the surface of the realm, among which several fugitives hide. A single, massive crator breaks the smooth surface of the sand where Durithill and Durimiros died.
Note: You cannot enter this realm unless you have been here before, or are with someone who has been here before.

Waiting on the other side of the portal, Raine stood in the realm where Durithill and Durimiros fought. She remembered the fight like it was only yesterday.. Though it was intense, it ended quickly. The lead council member sighed. At least it was warmer here...

Moments later Durithill stepped on onto the dessert that was the Forbidden Realm. He stared for a moment at the massive crator where it had ended the first time before turning to Raine. "What did you want to ask, Raine?"

Raine too, was still staring at the crater until her thoughts were cut short by Durithill's voice."Oh-- Umm.." She uttered, clasping her hands infront of her. Her depression was no longer with her. "Uh... Heh" She stalled, lifting one of her two hands to push a piece of hair from her face. There were many things she wanted to ask, but she first thing she had done, was pulled out the wilted petal.
Keeping her eyes on the black, shrivelled petal, Sherio rose her deep hues and blinked before speaking again. "I am--" She stopped and restarted her sentence. "I don't.. understand.." Her last quote was quite clear, like she was talking to someon... forgein.

"Don't understand?" he said, looking at the dead rose petal. "..." He stayed silent for a while, turning back towards the crator. "I... don't want to tell you." he said slowly, but it seemed as if the words were hurting him.

"But.." She said lowly, feeling osmewhat like a child. "Durithill..." Her eyes were saddened. "I feellike I've done something wrong.. How am I supposed to fix it if you won't tell me?" She pleaded, reachingout to place her hand on his shoulder, but she didn't know whether she should or not.

"You're fine, Raine, it's not your fault. You can't kill me by killing the rose." Durithill said, almost as a joke but his words were hollow. "It's nothing you can fix, so don't worry about it." he said, putting on a smile for Raine's sake.

She still had a concerned look in her eyes, not falling for his futile joke. "Durithill!" She spoke in a rasied tone, taking hold on his wrist. "Why can't you tell me what's going on?" She asked on a worried manner. "I mean, You weren't... you earlier..." She lowered her eyes, reluctantly letting go of his wrist and turning her back to him and raising her hands to her face.

"Why?" Durithill said quietly. "Because I don't want you to worry about me, Raine." he said, staring at the other side of the crator in the distance.

"But--" She stopped for a mere moment before turning around to face him again. "How can you expect me not to?!" She asked, throwing her hands down infront of her, her hair also falling over her shoulders. "I mean, you've been gone.. for a long time. After what I saw.. when you-- When I--..." The words were hard... She didn't want to screw up. "Just those... few words.. I--I didn't know if you.. cared.." Sheiro's voice had lowered, as well as her eyes. Her eyelids soon followed, shielding her blue eyes. "I--.. I'm sorry.."

"You didn't think I cared? Raine, you do you think I felt when you said you didn't belong there?" he said, walking over to her and placing his hands on her shoulder. "I care, Raine, and I trust that you do too, so you must not worry about me, for your own sake." And with that he pulled her into a hug.

With relieved but saddened eyes, Raine buried her face into his chest and wrapped her arms around him once he had pulled her into a warm embrace. "It just..--" She stared speaking, her voice was muffled. "--It scared me.. More then anything.." Her voice was merely a whisper.. She didn't want to let go. "I'm sorry..." She muttered. "I shouldn't have doubted you..." The last line was clear as she pulled her face away from his chest and looked up at him with a gentl smile.

"Worrying about the inevitable will only cause you unnecessary stress, so for your sake and mine, forget about the rose for now." he said, smiling a true smile down at her.

With a bright smile, Raine buried her face into his cehst once again with a small giggle. "Alright," she started, her words muffled from his clothing, "you have to tell me later though." Looking up at him again, she began yet, another question. "By the way, who were those.. People? I've heard a lot of people trying to look for you lately..." She asked as a piece of her ebony hair fell into her face. "And I think I'll stay here a while... Well, the demonic realm. Everyone in the council is rather.. stuck up." She flashed a childish smile. The master pendant Duirthill had given her lay beneath her shirt as well as the pendent of water her brother had tried to take away from her some years ago.

"I don't quite know myself." Durithill said, staring at the sky. "Two of them wanted me to help them rule the world or some childish goal like that, one was a bounty hunter, and the last was just someone from the realm of Earth."
