It was about four o'clock, and Liang was just entering her happy place. Which was, surprisingly, a crowded group of people. But it wasn't the people she enjoyed, it was the things. It was rare for her to find a mainstream clothing place that she liked, so instead she usually looked around lesser known places. Flea markets were her favorite hunting ground lately. But unfortunatey for her, Teagan hated them. He thought they smelled weird, and so it took a lot of pleading, and a tiny bit of blackmail, to convince him to take her. As it was, he had chosen to stay back in the car talking on his cell phone. It suited her just fine though, she preferred to be alone sometimes.

She had become a fair bit less shy as she grew older, and now had no problems chatting with the people that were running the stands here and there. At the moment, she was looking at an interesting booth with a collection of crocheted ponchos. "Which..." she mumbled to herself, comparing the tones of a smooth ivory and a marbled purple. Her fashion sense was certainly a bit off the main road, but she liked it fine. She stayed comfortable, yet conservative. Just as a lady should. But, despite her new found confidence, decisions were still hard for her.

The boy needed to explore new places. That was the plan. He needed to go out into the world (escorted, of course, as he was still very young) and find out the way things worked and-- more importantly-- the people who worked in it. At least, that was Raven's stance on the whole issue, which led to poor Jett being led from place to place, garnering attempts at experiences.

The newest place? A flea market-- a place where Jett would be plunged into the world of bargaining and false advertising-- not that such words would be used with a child, but still. Jett was... special. This would be a new experience for him, jostling about with the strangers, being surrounded by their strong personalities, everyone seeking a diamond amongst the rough wares being sold.

"Now stay close," Raven instructed her little boy, holding one of his hands tight. She didn't particularly like crowds, but... Jett needed to meet people, and his needs soared above her own.

Liang was quietly searching through the piles of warm wool sweaters when a little boy ran through in front of her. The contact shocked her, she wasn't entirely sure that it was a child after all, and as she often did now when she was startled, she took off. Her large wings threw out a strong gust, knocking over a few people as she screamed and launched herself higher. The colorful girl was a good fifty feet off the ground before she realized it, and when she did, she turned bright red. A few people were staring up at her, and it didn't help her response. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she flew toward a booth of quilts, hoping to find refuge behind them.

Raven swore under her breath as the little girl took to the air. Something exciting always had to happen didn't it? But then there were tears and compassion ruled again, Raven moving towards the pile of quilts with Jett close in hand. "Hello?" Raven whispered gently, glancing closer.

Not letting her fear erase her manners, Liang peeked up out of the quilts at the voice, answering with a wavering, "Hello ma'am." She was still a bit blushed as she showed her face, wishing now that she had one of her fans on hand. "I'm sorry," she said quietly, gesturing to Jett, "Did I scare him? Because if I did I want you to know that I really truly am sorry, I"m not just saying that." She was sort of babbling, trying desperately not to embarass herself any further. Luckily the people that had looked at her now seemed to have returned to their own tasks, and she could calm down a little as she tucked her giant wings back down against her back.

Raven smiled slightly, taking in the little girl. "No, it's fine. Jett doesn't scare easily. Are you all right though?" she asked considering the other. Wings. Brilliant wings. Another D-corp perhaps? Or just another random species on Gaia? Who could really tell?

Jett leaned against Raven, bored. Pretty colors...

With a glance at the calm looking boy, Liang decided that the woman wasn't lying to make her feel better. She fluttered her wings to try and fix the feathers, but gave up with it just flustered them more. "Me? Yeah, I'm alright. I just kind of... Got spooked I guess." She blushed at this, because it seemed lately that she got spooked more often than not. What would Keanu think of her if he found out that a coward she was? Oh, manners, right. "My name's Liang," she blurted.

((Don't mind me color-switching! >>; ))

Raven smiled gently, hoping somehow that a smile would ease the girl's fear. "I'm Raven, this is Jett. I'm sorry that you got spooked, Liang," she murmured, pulling Jett closer.

Bowing slightly, as he'd been taught was polite, Jett smiled at the girl slightly, leaning against his mother. "...nice to meet you, Liang." He didn't really know what to think of the girl, her flightiness-- she wasn't like the others he'd been around. But that wasn't a bad thing, necessarily.

"Are you looking for anything specific?" Liang asked, attempting to make a joke at her own expense to break the ice, "After all, I can get a bird's eye view with a few flaps." She laughed nervously, stiffening when she realized once again what a fool she was making of herself. Maybe this wasn't a big deal, like it would be with big brother or someone like that, but still, she didn't like being uncomfortable in front of people, even if she didn't know them that well. Correction, especially if she didn't know them that well.

Raven smiled and laughed quietly. "We were just looking about for new people to talk to, rather than anything in specific. Would you like to join us, Liang?" the girl offered after a moment. She wanted to calm the girl, since Liang obviously had some sort of anxiety.

Someone going along with them today? All right. Jett could handle that. It was good... to meet with other people. Good to play with them for a time.

"Oh," Liang chirped, blushing a bit at the offer, "I'd love to." She fluffed down her feathers, taking a place next to Jett. It seemed like the right place for her to stand after all, since she was still young like him. But maybe he would think she was trying to impress his mom. But that wouldn't be bad, right? It was never bad to make a good impression, was it? Who knew? All of this stuff got so complicated sometimes. "So.." She started, figuring if they were going to walk together they ought to have some kind of conversation, "Have you found anything interesting around here?"
