Here you will sign up as a maiko and you will be assigned an older sister. Thus she will take you only to the Hiren Ochaya (our joint teahouse). You are tied to this okiya and teahouse alone. There's currently room for five maiko, three geisha, and one other older sister (geisha may double as older sister).

Yes you will be payed. 3nodding Although this will be a fun roleplay-experience, it will also serve as entertainment for others. Pay is cheap howeve, until you work your way up.
10 posts=20 gold. five will go to your okiya, some may go to other parts of improving the guild and helping out the teahouses, and your share will be decided upon your activeness, conversation, and other factors.
Until you are a full-fledged geisha with 50 posts under your belt, you will not be paid. All geishas who have more than one younger sister will be given a 4k bonus!!!

Your Status
All start out as maiko. Once you have posted roughly 20 times in the Ochaya thread, you will be promoted to Geisha. After 50 posts, you will be eligible to become an older sister, which you will be paid 1 k for.
Teahouse and Okiya Rules
1) absolutely no noob speak. preferably roleplay-esuqe literate conversation. please double-check all posts for spelling and correct punctuation. after all, geisha were dignified-not sloppy.
2) no flaming or cybering. both are rude, unbecmoing, and ultimately cuturally inaccurate
debates, flirtatious or sexual jokes/stories may be permitted (so long as they are not vulgar or graphic) 3) learn the common geisha terms, or words if you must use them. please do not use a word which you are not sure the meaning of. It is not necessary to use traditional japanese terms, but if you must please be sure you understand them first off.
4) be courteous and respectful to your superiours (this includes older sister, fellow geisha/maiko, or house Mother.
