High in the mountains, where the sky is clear, the wind is cold and the air is thin, lies an ancient plateau. Once the home of a weak, cave inhabiting people, it has long since been abandonned, it's people long dead. No, these days, the plateau holds a much more grim appearance, for atop it's massive tabletop peak lies a huge fort, ominous and forboding, it's surface seems to pulse with some kind of terribly corrupt life.

Covering about three fourths of the plateau, the fort oozes over about 2.25 square miles, 1.5 miles to each side. a massive structure, it's walls are perhaps not as imposing as the extravegant walls of other guilds, a mere 85 feet high, but they served their purpose, the large walkway atop them an excellent vantage point for the guild's automated bioturret defense system.

There seemed to be no entrance into this devilish construction, even from above, for there was no open courtyard behind the walls, only a massive, flat platform, barely four feet lower than the walkways atop the walls. If one were to watch long enough, it would become obvious that this platform was pulsating ever so slightly, as if in tune to some giant, slumbering hearbeat. As in fact, it was, for that was a the nature of the entire fort: a giant biological servant of the Mindblaze Dominion, it lived to harbor all that constituted the Dominion. The only way to enter unharmed was through the will fo the fort, which would recognize those directly spawned from the might of Mindblaze, and those that he had marked as allies. The only other way in would be to forcibly blow through the walls.

Inside, the MD home was a winding maze of damp, organic tunnels and lightly pulsating chambers, filled with everything that the MD could concievably need. Most important of all was the heart of this being, situated at it's very center, it was postioned atop a natural spring of energy, an ideal manner in which to fuel Mindblaze's power.

Mindblaze himself seemed to be...everywhere. Cutting away from the side of the plateau a sliver of rock rose up, massive in size with a great fall to one's death on either side. It was here that the battle was appointed to take place, the sliver twenty five feet long but only three feet across. Vague shapes concealed in Crimson Mist watched as a single man dressed in a white suit carrying a black shaft with a ruby set atop it formed upon one end of the sliver. Thousands of eyes watched him, just out of reach of most mid level spells, the sliver itself out of line of attack from any bioturrets above.

A tear in the very fabric of existence began to eventuate, opalescent vapors issuing forth from what appeared to be a verticil of whorling winds and water. As the vortice began to accelerate in its revolutions, the delineation of a hand erupted forth from its very center, anchoring itself in this dimension so that the rest of the empyreal form may finish its voyage from the echelons of transcendental beings to the plane in which it would be coming to a clash with one of this dimension's denizens.

Evulsing the rest of his diaphanous body through the ethereal portal he had created, Keiichi's intangible foot hovered above the peak of the precipice, his insubstantial movements giving one the feeling of deliberate action. Although his height was impressive, his svelte physique seemed unimposing to one who had not witnessed his sudden appearance or was able to feel the effulgent energy that flowed outward from within him. Keiichi exhaled a wreath of azure smoke through his nostrils as the outermost fringes of his form began to materialize.

Solidifying atop what he saw as a nondescript escarpment of land that rose high above aphotic depths which would surely lead to a horrible end, Keiichi Taniguchi pressed a finger to the point of his chin, using the digit to rub against the tuft of hair that protruded from his skin. Gingerly tapping his heels against the cragged surface of the cliff, he began to surreptitiously study the battle ground, beginning to formulate strategies based upon what he saw as well as noticing where he may encounter trouble, be it from a stone that slightly stuck out of the ground or a crater no larger than a silver pence in which he might snag a toe.

Pulling his finger away from his face, the kyahan he wore about his wrist pulled the indigo cloth of his yukata taut against his forearm. Laying his palms against the precipice's flat top upon which he was ensconced, Keiichi used this new position to raise himself off of the ground, the soles of his sandals pointing towards the heavens ephemerally before he allowed himself to shift from this inverted stance, coming back to his feet.

Smiling affably towards his opponent, Keiichi took his stance as he used his knowledge of physiognomy to complacently study the features of the opposing man's face, constructing a generic outline of the man's personality which would aid him during his battle. Keiichi began his stance by setting his feet evenly apart, having them be at shoulder's width. Putting his tongue onto the upper pallate, behind the front of his teeth, Keiichi's hands were in a relaxed state, rising and falling with the movement of his breathing.

Keeping his back upright, Keiichi's knees bent slightly, his form sinking and rising in rhythm with his breathing for an instant or two before transferring his center of gravity so that it lay at his hips. As he finished preparing himself, Keiichi began to step forward, pressing first his toes then the rest of his foot in a pattern as he came nearer to his opponent, his arms still rising and falling with his movements.

((I do hope you enjoy my continued typos. I'm happy to give all you'd like, I'm sure I can even n00b it right up for ya.))

The figrue stood calmly waitign for teh man to advacne on him, his features bland and almost dead to the world. Sences far beyond the normal five of humans examined this being from all angles, noteing power themes, energy concentrations, heat levels, and flows of energie. The minds of many began to conspire as the very air around the two combatsnt became devoid of oxygen, replaced by the same Crimson Mist that filled the expanse and the fortress above. This Crimson Mist was by no means a physical object to be manipulated by wind or aquakinesis of any sort, but the visible projection of thought. Winds would seem to become irrelevant as a control of the weather was taken hold by a silver haired man in the mist, ensuring oxygen would remain outside the combat area.

Several other individuals began to close the area off from influence of others and escape, a 500ft radius from the center point of the fighting 'arena' sealed. The Crimson Mist itself denied means of elemental travel, instant transmission, planar shifting, phasing, and other related forms of travel not produced by the body's own locomotion.

All at once doom seemed to fall on the man, thousands of eyes watching taking action in a single thoughts as the greater being known as Mindblaze launched over ten thousand orbs of light and energy at Keiichi, each with the strength to vaporize a 3 inch diameter chunk of rock. These orbs were focused around the man and would not impede their own destion, but only add and refocus it to greater effect than individual blasts could create in an exponential gain. Furthermore, the rock of the 'sliver' seemed to rise up against him, streams of blackrock darting up from below to spear him. These spears would also not impede the attack at hand, any orbs that might strike it simply dancing around it. Kinetic blasts of force much like bullets would also assault the man from eight angles on the horizontal axis, as well as seven on the verticle axis and many points in between, totally 37 kinetic bullets in all. Lastly, streams of darkness seemed to float through the Crimson Mist, these being of mana and blood. Should the target produce a psionic defense to the matter at hand a crimson pulse would pass outward from the suited man's cane, nullifying the psionic emmanations through consumption and disruption of psionic links. Should he produce darkness to defend against the light it would fail, an equal or stronger control of shadows eliminating the defense. Absorbing the attacks at hand would only flood the man with Mindblaze's essense, allowing for the start of an exponential drain on mind, body, and soul.

Almost as though he had spent far too many nights wasting away in an opium den, the strangest of sights began to take shape before Keiichi, obviously having come forth from his adversary. As the oxygen dissipated and was replaced by more of the "crimson mist" his foe seemed so fond of, the multi-faceted mind of Keiichi Taniguchi began to process thoughts at an alarming rate, far more thoughts than a single mind would be able to cope with. Due to the nature of his physiology, Keiichi was endowed with the ability to delve into his subconscious mind, in which the universe in its entirety was housed. It was known as solipsism in this realm, but had countless other labels in other domains.

As the presence of others dawned upon Keiichi, the amicable smile upon his countenance never wavered, the vapors before him swaying to and fro rhythmically, pulsing synchronously with the lucent energy that issued forth from his own form.

The medium in which Mindblaze's weapons began to manifest themselves was irrelevant. What is important to understand is that the brains of most are unable to comprehend thought or the will of said thought, at their deepest levels. So, in order to have a semblance of understanding, they must use a superficial symbol, such as the mist before him, to better understand that which is ineffable to them. All Mindblaze had performed with what he thought to have been a sure way to defeat Keiichi was nothing more than putting a cap on infinity. The actions we perform, the words we speak, are entirely infinite but because the brain isn't capable of discerning thoughts at that level (excluding Keiichi, of course), we must give meaning and create man-made representations in order to cope with what we cannot understand.

Having learned how to master his talents through eons of training, Keiichi knew that the "action" (and all of its products) are infinitely powerful and meaningful, although you just don't understand them. Keiichi felt as if he had gone off on a tangent within one of the several layers of his mind. Taking a deep breath, he inhaled what was once oxygen, transformed into crimson mist and had then been returned to its original state, his subconscious mind taking effect before Mindblaze had been capable of both launching his volley of orbs and the rest of his fruitless endeavors.

Casually moving his wrist in an outward motion as his arm lay by his side, the surrounding environment shifted from the battle ground Mindblaze had chosen and in its stead became something he was surely familiar with, nothingness. Both combatants were engulfed in a nothingness purer than freshly fallen snow.

"Now that you've flexed your mystical muscles while I've delved into a mere fraction of my strength, are you prepared for something more challenging? Perhaps a test of the physical, since your mystical seems to be sub-par."

It would be noted that a shift of landscape was deemed impossible, as given by the properties of the mists and the ability held thereof that denied alteration of location. If this man had simply destroyed reality around them to create nothingness Keiichi would be torn to shreds as physics fall apart and dreams take shape, producing the limitless possibilities of Mindblaze, a being of thoughts liberated from the physical form. This left two options, either wasted effort on the part of Keiichi or having to face nothing but pure thought expanded to its full potential, in which Keeichi would not even be able to comprehend the actions taken against him by the requirement of impulses firing in the brain, thus giving limitation to speed of thought -even if above any mortal 'average'-, a limitation Mindblaze did not have. Keiichi would have his body ripped apart and his mind consumed five thousand times over before he could even produce a single thought.

This having been said, it is more than likely that Keiichi's effort was wasted, in which case his defense was improper and his body was left broken. Furthermore, his power base would be eliminated as his heightened mental activities were curbed by the field produced by Mindblaze's cane. When fighting an army acting as one it would be best not to wave off attacks with simply thoughts and gestures when the desired effect is nigh impossible or more harmful than beneficial. Either way, Keiichi had put himself in a terrible position and by the time he had spoken Mindblaze would have already redoubled the assault to simply slay him outright.

(( This is an out of character post, meaning it cannot be counted as an action on my part.

Are you unable to grasp the fact that my character is a solipsist, so that the universe is housed within his mind. By being able to tap into his own mind, Keiichi is able to alter reality at its very core. In essence, reality is an Etch-A-Sketch to me. If I wished it, I could've turned your staff into a bouquet of flowers. Perception is reality.

To be blunt, things are as follows. Your character, its powers, its weapons, the precipice we're fighting on, everything is contained within my mind. As I stated in my last action, everything you've done has been "putting a cap on infinity", while I on the other hand am able to manipulate said "infinity". He wouldn't be torn apart by simply removing the things that were around him and replacing them with nothingness. That's as difficult for him as it is for you and I to breathe. ))

((Having a universe built within your mind does nothing, for as long as your character has a physical form the requirement of biological processes still exists. Mindblaze acts at the speed of light or faster, anything done by an outside force can only be slower because it is bound by physiological and realital constraints. As I stated in my post you have two options, but now a third. Death by not responding, Death by being slaughtered 5500 times between each thought, or Death by your own 'universe' collapsing from not only the strain of drawing in Mindblaze, but the connection implied therein and the consumption of your character through said link.

Don't play metaphysics with me, for all you will get is a stonewall response and instakills on yourself by yourself. I'm done with playing savior to a guild I couldn't care less for, not because I'm through with you, but because you're through with yourself.))

(( As I stated earlier, perception is reality. What you perceive to be my "physical form" is but a manifestation of Keiichi Taniguchi. Just as your character is a manifestation of thought, mine would be a manifestation of the universe's creator.

Your stonewall responses do nothing but aid in your defeat. If you wish to contest my actions, there are others who would willingly prove you to be at fault, which would bring about your own destruction. So, you're the one that has two options. The first would be to consent to Keiichi's request for a physical bout or to simply give up. ))

((I'm not the one who isn't posting IC. The simple fact is that your attempts either failed or Mindblaze's consciousness connected to that of your character's and you would quickly be absorbed regardless of mental barriers. He'd just eat the barriers and eat the barriers of the barriers, should they exist. To do what you did that'd what would have had to happen, and, like I said, if you just removed reality, Mindblaze becomes more powerful than any creator of any universe as such beings are one mind where he is over five thousand building upon one another to push past the limits of the possibilities of the total in each mind. If you care so much about claiming that group of n00bs as under your lyalty or whateverthehell you issued the challenge for, then by all means, refute your death and I'll just kill you again until you get the point. Either that or sit down, shut up, and ignore me because the context of this fight is on the basis of a single guild of n00bs you seem to have interest in. Ya can have 'em for all I care. Then at least they'd stop bothering me.))

(( The only reason I have yet to post IC is because your last action is invalid, due to the fact that you're unable to comprehend both the level at which Keiichi's mind functions and as well as the way solipsism works.

You wouldn't become stronger, because you're just a machination produced by Keiichi's subconscious. I thought I stated that clearly earlier. If you'd like, the views of others can be brought in so that you might be able to open your eyes and accept your loss. ))

((It is obvious to me that Keiichi has you beat Tacitus. It is clear that you cannot seem to grasp the fact that your "reality" is merely a manifestation created by Keiichi, in which you are at his mercy. I believe he has already stated that, but I would like to bring some clarity to it. What you perceive as being "physical" is nothing more than his alteration within his mind. You are clearly unable to comprehend this, or you are just too stupid to realize your own fate in this fight.))
PostPosted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 12:41 pm

((Thoughts disobey reality constantly. I substitute your reality for my own. While Solipsism dictates that reality is what you think it is, reality is also what I deem it. Your character may be the creator of all that is and ever has been, but Frankenstein's monster did kill him, you know. What neither of you seem to understand is that Mindblaze doesn't follow the laws of physics or even the fundamental laws of existance. If the constraints of reality change he is only able to defy them to a degree that far beyond those that we know. He is a phantom as decribed by the ideas of solipsism, but a phantom that not even the solipsist can come to comprehend because he exists outside that subject's reality. And, as stated, alterations by the mind are psionic effects and would thus be nullified or lead to Mindblaze consuming the active consciousness of Keiichi. You do realize that there is no way either of us can win this arguement because your character will deny the existance of whatever he likes and Mindblaze doesn't exist anyway so can't actually be denied.))

OOC:

Keiichi would have effectively deceived Mindblaze, so it seems. Mindblaze continued to try to use physical attributes, even though it was all happening within a temporal reality. This is a bit of a blur around the actual rules of text fighting, but the upper hand is indefinitely given to Keiichi.

((While I'm waiting, I shall clarify. Mindblaze is not of this universe. As such trying to comprehend him is impossible by someone so situated around this universe. He is an anamoly that cannot and will not be understood by anyone in this universe, not even someone who alters it at will bbased on his own perceptions. Hell, a solipsist would likely be the weakest of all beings in existance. The solipsist says 'i perceive I am god' and EVERYTHING else says "I perceive you as a normal guy" and he loses. The perception of everything everywhere all the time resist the fundamental changes a solipsist would make.))

((And Remaues/Eric, even in a mental landscape there exists a physical form projected as the avatar of the self. If Keiichi were such a powerful being and brought Mindblaze into this nothingness he would expand out and destroy the universe from within Keiichi's mind and cease all existance by just punching stars because the mind is infinitely more powerful than the body. Either Keiichi is powerless based on perceptions working against him or Mindblaze enters his universe of perceptions, perceives himself to be more powerful and reinforces that perception by having his own minds build upon himself to make him more powerful and he goes Neo on Keiichi's a** in a totally metaphysical way. Mindblaze was built with The Matrix in mind, wherein the ideas of solipsism are what allow those of Zion to break the laws of physics in a computer program.))

(( You state that because Mindblaze would be able to perceive himself as a more powerful entity is what allows him to negate the effects of solipsism and that by someone else simply stating that "he's a normal dude" would make Keiichi lose? That's even more far-fetched than the principle of solipsism. What you perceive is only what Keiichi wants you to perceive, which is why he's not only able to alter reality at such a large scale, but be able to withstand everything that Mindblaze could initially dish out before it's been transformed into something else. ))

(( Mindblaze may be the manifestation of thought and blah blah, but he'd be incapable of "filling out and destroying" the universe housed within Keiichi's mind because it's not only the universe that we exist in, but as I stated in my posts, Keiichi is able to discern thoughts at an infinite scale and he too has a multi-tiered mind. ))

(( Also, you might've wanted to, oh I don't know, add the fact that Mindblaze is supposedly from another universe. By only now claiming that he's from another universe, you're giving others the feeling that you're just trying to come up with anything to try and change the tide of battle. As Eric, Koutsu and myself have been fighting for quite some time, we also know about the fact that if a fighter is incapable of clearly giving information about their character then tries to bring some fact to light when he's clearly lost, said action is negated and the fight is finished. ))
