A 12 year old told me that there was something wrong with me because I was 26 and didn't have any babies. He said his 16 year old sister had one so I must really be weird. confused When I disagreed and said I was still too young for babies (not to mention he was totally weirded out by my lack of a boyfriend), he said I must be one of those girls "who really likes to party," whatever that means (I shudder to think...) since I wasn't ready to be a mother. sweatdrop sweatdrop
I almost felt like calling child protective services or something, because he said he was totally ready to be a dad since he has to take care of his sister's child every day anyway and he wouldn't mind if he was a father... all the while still insisting that there must be something wrong with me. Then he started going on about rape.. I politely excused myself from the situation... ugh. Poor kid. stare
THAT experience is the whole reason why I started looking for older folks on Gaia, I didn't want anymore uncomfortable conversations with unsupervised 12 year olds.. hehe Glad I found the guild! sweatdrop

Wow, that situation is thoroughly disturbing. Babies having babies. I completely feel your pain NessaChan. I'm 23, have a bachelors degree, a decent part time job, working on a masters, I've published a couple monologues, played a one time gig at a cafe, and opened up my own net shop as of the other day... but I am unaccomplished because I don't have kids and a "man" in my life. Ugg.
It didn't happen on Gaia, but a year ago I was working at a cell phone dealer. One of the customers asked me if I had kids, I said no. He was truly shocked. He couldn't believe I didn't have a husband and kids. I wasn't quite 22 at the time eek eek . Do I look that old? (A priest at my church mistook me for a high schooler just a few months ago). At the time it was also rather offensive because I was engaged and this was only a few months after my fiance left me. Talk about salt and wounds! I'm very sour about people continually bringing up my lack of a good man as a character flaw.
Gaia wise, I've heard people refer to 15 year olds as old... so I try not to pipe up about my age. Thankfully I have Raien to keep me from feeling like a total old fogey.

Hrm... I'm 21... I have a son who's 7 months old. On my 21st birthday I was pregnant.. so couldn't drink. I did go to college for a year. A University... my grades were excellent. I got kicked out for not being able to pay them the $35k that my scholarships and grants and loans weren't gonna cover.... sucks... I have no idea how 16 year olds do it. I'm going crazy about it at 21 and I live with the baby's father.... These 16 year old girls are out having babies, don't even know who the father is!!!

Mostly people kind of excuse themselves from talking to me when they find out I'm not 14 or so like they are. So nothing really funny, with the exception of one asking me to adopt him because he thought I'd be cooler than his parents.
And people who think being married somehow makes their life more fufilled irk me.

I don't participate in the general forums much, nor give my age when I do, so my only problems lay in the roleplaying forums with kids who, when they learn my age, respond in a "Ewww! I don't wanna roleplay with someone who's like my mom's age!" type of way.
Wow, that's kinda funny. I don't want to roleplay with someone who's young enough to be my child either. Why don't you ask your mom to come online and I'll see if SHE'S a better RPer? blaugh
Otherwise, I think it's hysterically funny every time someone calls me a noob, or whatever whacky spelling or capitalization they choose to use. "Oh yeah? Tell that to my HALO, kid." xd
