So... Does your marching band go on trips or anything of the sort? This year, we're going to the Outback Bowl.

what do you mean trips? We go everywhere for competitions. Every year we go on one for fun. This year it was Virginia Beach.

we don't go anywhere ever.
Because our director is stupid. But I think we might have a student run trip next year, not for a performance or anything. Just for fun .

Becuase our band is big(187 members) we can only afford to go on big trips every few years. This year we are going to the umm....well its a collage bowl and its in New Orleans. biggrin

I'm in a college marchingband so we go on trips quite a bit. The next big trip is to Japan we're gonna march in a parade in Osaka. Usually we bring small pepbands to awaygames like last year when we played Notre Dame we brought a pepband. otherwise if we have a bowl worthy football team we go to bowl games.

i'm amazed we don't have a thread on this already o.O but ya, we go on marching trips every year. usually it's just a couple hours on a bus to get to a competition, but last year we got to go to hawaii for a parade and concert ((and i wanna go back crying )) i'm not sure where we're going this year.

Every other year we take a major trip, this year we'll have a minor trip but last march we went to New York.

Hah. We go on like 2 trips a month.
Next year we're taking our 350 member band to Grand Nationals in Indianapolis.

We go on one every four years, I think. We're going on one next year. whee I'm pretty sure our BD said we're going to St. Louis. If not, then Virginia Beach.

I feel so old, it's been 2 years since marching band for me. crying When I was a sophomore though, my marching band went to Disney World (FL). That was the greatest freaking vacation ever!! Also, I had my first kiss with my (back then, I can't stand him now) crush there. They're going again this year. They're going to have fun! I work with a girl who's still in my old marching band. (She's a sophomore right now blaugh )

Lets see well last year people that were able to pay went to Europe, this year it was Hawaii! Im to poor to go to the trips so i can't tell you what its like. Urgh i wish i could though.

Our band has a Spring Trip every two years. This year we went to Manhattan, New York with 2 bands (one was a combination of 2 of our band classes). We played for some competition and the band I was in got 1st place in our class. The other band got 3rd place in their class (1st and 2nd place must have been outstanding, because our other band is awesome!). We got to go on a tour of the city, went to the empire state building, and saw the New York Philharmonic. It was great! Next trip we might be going out of the country (I think the BD said London, not really sure). Gosh, I luv band!
EDIT: as long as i've been in band, the BD hasn't taken the MB on trips out of the state.

Every two years our band goes on a big trip, alternating between the marching band and the concert band (Marching band goes on a trip, then two years later concert band goes on a trip, then two years kater the marching band...)
The marching band trip is always to Disney World.
We went this year and it was SO much fun!
