Seafoam Region Pokemon Chart
Despite its militarization, Seafoam is still a region of natural beauty, and an area filled with many Pokemon. The ecological systems of Seafoam range from its seas, to the forests of Island 2 and Island 8, to the parks and natural preserves of Islands 4 and 5.
Seafoam Oceanic Territory

Name: Tentacool
Number: 072
Element: Water/Poison
Rarity: Common
Found in the deep oceans surrounding the Seafoam Archipelago, Tentacool are primarily nocturnal. During the day, swarms of these stinging creatures remain deep in the ocean, and float up to the surface to feed at night. Occasionally, especially during the summer months, a handful of Tentacool will drift in toward the beaches, where they may be encountered by hapless swimmers. If you are stung by a Tentacool, remain calm, quickly get out of the water, and use vinegar or meat tenderizer to neutralize the toxins.

Name: Tentacruel
Number: 073
Element: Water/Poison
Rarity: Rare
Like their unevolved form, Tentacruel are mostly found in the deep ocean surrounding the islands. They also hunt at night, using their 80 tentacles and deadly neurotoxin. A sting from a Tentacruel is a serious matter, as the neurotoxin paralyzes the victim and can cause respiratory arrest. Rarely active during the day, Tentacruel can be easily identified near the ocean's surface due to the fact that their huge body sac floats atop the water, much like a Portuguese man-of-war. However, the Tentacruel is far, far more dangerous than a man-of-war.

Name: Seel
Number: 086
Element: Water
Rarity: Rare
Seel are rarely seen in the waters around Seafoam, and never during summer. Seel are primarily arctic creatures, and thus only come to Seafoam during the winter months, when the water is significantly cooler. During winter, they hang around near Island 6 and mate. It is as yet undetermined why they choose that island, and no others.

Name: Dewgong
Number: 087
Element: Water/Ice
Rarity: Extremely Rare
As hard as it is to find Seel in Seafoam's warm waters, encountering a Dewgong is as momentous an occasion as seeing a Legendary Pokemon. Only in the coldest of winters can Dewgong be found swimming within the territorial waters of Seafoam. The last Dewgong was seen within a mile of Seafoam during the League's occupation of Cinnabar Island during the League Wars.

Name: Shellder
Number: 090
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
These shellfish Pokemon are found at the bottom of the ocean, primarily amongst the many offshore coral reefs and geothermal vents. Shellder are peaceful by nature, and do not attack people unless they are provoked. While they resemble pearl-producing clams, Shellder are not known to produce pearls.

Name: Cloyster
Number: 091
Element: Water/Ice
Rarity: Rare
Cloyster are extremely rare in most parts of the world, but less so in the tropical waters of Seafoam. They also frequent the offshore reefs, but unlike Shellder, Cloyster are found more often in shipwreck reefs than natural coral. Also in contradiction to their unevolved form, Cloyster are highly aggressive and will attack anything that enters their territory. They are said to be able to produce a toxin in their bodies that are injected into victims by their shell spikes.

Name: Horsea
Number: 116
Element: Water
Rarity: Uncommon
Horsea are diminutive, sea horse-like Pokemon found mostly in the coral reefs around the Seafoam Islands. They feed mostly on microscopic plankton and are actually quite friendly. Horsea have been known to frolic around divers in the coral reefs. They're also skittish creatures, and will spray an ink trail and jet away at the first sign of danger.

Name: Seadra
Number: 117
Element: Water
Rarity: Rare
Unlike Horsea, Seadra are aggressive, but not overly so. They will attempt to do everything they can to chase intruders out of their territory without having to actually fight. If no other alternatives present themselves, Seadra will squirt a cloud of ink at their target, then quickly impale the victim with their poisonous spines. Feeding on small fish and other sea creatures, Seadra are most often found in the deeper ocean reefs.

Name: Staryu
Number: 120
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
These sea star relatives live among the coral reefs and shallower waters near the island shores. They are capable of regenerating limbs they have lost, and use thousands of tiny suction cups on the underside of their 'legs' to draw prey, mostly mollusks, toward the hard, beak-like mouth on the underside of the creature. In late summer, Staryu congregate just off the beaches and the red jewel-like organ in the center of their bodies glows. No one knows why they do this.

Name: Starmie
Number: 121
Element: Water/Psychic
Rarity: Rare
One of the rarest natural species in Seafoam, there are no fixed locations where Starmie can be found. Encountering one is well and truly random. Because of the geometric shape of their bodies, it is suspected that they are not a naturally-occuring species. Some people value their central organs as jewels, but it should be noted that poaching in Seafoam is a severe crime.

Name: Magikarp
Number: 129
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
Quite possibly the most laughable Pokemon in existence, there is almost nothing that Magikarp is good for. In battle, even in water, they do little but splash and flop around. Their tough skin, lack of meat, and brittle bones also make them bad for food. They're also not challenging to catch. They're prevalent all across the waters of Seafoam.

Name: Gyarados
Number: 130
Element: Water/Flying
Rarity: Fabled; no confirmed sightings in Seafoam waters
It is almost impossible to believe that the most fearsome predator of the seas is related to something as pathetic as Magikarp. But it's true nonetheless. Gyarados are often considered to be teeth with fins, because of their ferocious nature, and are rumored to be capable of leveling entire cities. There are no confirmed reports of any Gyarados living near Seafoam.

Name: Chinchou
Number: 170
Element: Water/Electric
Rarity: Uncommon
A relative of deep-sea angler fish, Chinchou are likewise found deep, deep in the ocean, where there is almost no light. These Pokemon use their antenna much like an angler uses his fishing pole, using electrical light flashes to lure their prey close enough to snap up. In Seafoam, these Pokemon are only found along the deep-sea trench to the west of the archipelago.

Name: Lanturn
Number: 171
Element: Water/Electric
Rarity: Rare
The Lanturn's method of catching prey is almost identical to that of the Chinchou, except that its light-emitting organs are far more powerful. Too, Lanturn have a developed set of eyes, and can survive in shallower water that would kill Chinchou. It is rumored that a Lanturn can illuminate the ocean depths for a distance of three miles.

Name: Quilfish
Number: 211
Element: Water/Poison
Rarity: Uncommon
A relative of the pufferfish, or blowfish, the Quilfish likewise can puff itself up to many times its body size by sucking in water. The quilfish also uses the pressure of the drawn-in water to fire its toxic spines like darts. These fish are most commonly found near the coral reefs.

Name: Corsola
Number: 222
Element: Water/Rock
Rarity: Common
The trademark of many tropical seas is a large concentration of Corsola. Seafoam is not an exception to this; there are more Corsola in Seafoam's waters than there are any other kind of fish. They congregate in the coral reefs and along the ocean floor all across Seafoam waters, creating "false" reefs with their rock-like extensions.

Name: Remoraid
Number: 223
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
The scavenger of the seas, Remoraids attach themselves to large predators, such as sharks, Sharpedos, and Mantines, feeding on leftovers and scraps from their hosts meals. A few Remoraids have been known to attach themselves to the hulls of Seafoam naval vessels and gorge themselves on waste products, resulting in slightly-humorous, yet short-lived, Remoraids of six to ten feet.

Name: Octillery
Number: 224
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
Though Pokemon trainers are well aware that Octillery and Remoraid are related, science has yet to determine exactly how. Resembling octopi, Octillery behave in much the same manner. They're timid Pokemon, and would sooner run from a fight using a spray of ink to hide their escape. They dwell in caves and crevices, and beneath any rocky shelter they can find all throughout Seafoam waters.

Name: Mantine
Number: 226
Element: Water/Flying
Rarity: Rare
A cousin of the similar-looking manta ray, the Mantine is one of the most beautiful sea Pokemon in existence. It feeds almost solely on plankton, and is so docile that divers have been known to hitch rides on the creature's massive fins. Remoraids attach themselves to Mantines so often that a true rarity is a trainer whose Mantine doesn't have an attached Remoraid.

Name: Wingull
Number: 278
Element: Flying
Rarity: Common
Like common sea gulls, Wingulls can be found anywhere there's an ocean. Most of these creatures congregate around the various docking facilities on the Seafoam archipelago, but some have been found much farther inland, roosting on top of apartment buildings on Island 4. While in flight, Wingulls rarely ever flap their wings, instead soaring on updrafts.

Name: Pelipper
Number: 279
Element: Flying
Rarity: Uncommon
These huge, ungainly birds feed by skimming the ocean's surface, dipping their huge beak into the water, and catching fish and other food items in its beak like a net. In mating season, they're also known to carry their eggs in their beaks to protect them. Like Wingulls, they're commonly found near docks, and they don't have any problem with rooting through dumpsters to find food.

Name: Carvanha
Number: 318
Element: Water/Shadow
Rarity: Uncommon
Related to the vicious pirhanna of the Amazon jungles, Carvanha behave in almost an identical manner. They swarm and viciously maul anything invading their territory in groups, but are timid and flee when alone. Schools of these Pokemon live around the artificial sunken ship reefs in the deeper waters of Seafoam, and divers should be advised to always carry repellant with them.

Name: Sharpedo
Number: 319
Element: Water/Shadow
Rarity: Rare
Pound-for-pound as deadly as a great white shark, Sharpedos are the bane of any tropical sea. They can reach top speeds of 75 knots in open ocean, and they possess enough bite power and strong enough fangs to tear into armored ship hulls. The good news is that these creatures are very rare in Seafoam waters, and cannot travel for long distances.

Name: Wailmer
Number: 320
Element: Water
Rarity: Uncommon
These miniature relatives of whales can fill themselves up with water and survive for a remarkable amount of time if they beach themselves. Like most whale species, they prefer colder waters, and can only be found at Seafoam in the cooler winter months.

Name: Wailord
Number: 321
Element: Water
Rarity: Rare
Roughly the size of a humpback whale, Wailords are close relatives to the blue whales, the largest creatures on the planet. Wailords are the largest recorded Pokemon in existence, topping out at a whopping 47 feet long and 877 pounds. The migration routes of Wailord take them right past the Seafoam Archipelago, where they're breathtaking to behold as they swim south to warmer waters in late autumn, and back north in early spring.

Name: Clamperl
Number: 366
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
Distant relatives of Shellder, Clamperl inhabit much of the same environment, and are known to produce pearls. Clamperl are very docile creatures, and will 'clam up' when faced with a threat, rather than fight. Their meat is regarded as a delicacy, and their pearls make fine jewelry.

Name: Huntail
Number: 367
Element: Water
Rarity: Uncommon
These creatures are only found in deep Seafoam waters, especially in crevices on the seaward side of the coral reefs, and in the western deep-ocean trench. They use their fish-shaped tail to attract prey, which they then snare with their huge jaws.

Name: Gorebyss
Number: 368
Element: Water
Rarity: Uncommon
Gorebyss is one of the few omnivorous sea creatures that feed on large creatures. It uses its thin snout to both feed on algae and other plant life in cracks between rocks, and as a feeding tube that it inserts into its prey and feeds on the bodily fluids. Like the Huntail, these creatures are only found in the deep ocean.

Name: Luvdisc
Number: 370
Element: Water
Rarity: Common
The most common tropical fish at Seafoam, nobody knows why the Luvdisc's body is shaped the way it is. These docile fish are found most often around the reefs. At Seafoam, it is customary to give a Luvdisc as a present to a newly-married couple. It is also said that if a couple encounters a pair of Luvdisc in the ocean, that they will be blessed with a neverending relationship.
