Zanjutsu
Zanjutsu, one of the four basic Shinigami Academy Core Classes. This Class deals with the developement of your skills in using your Zanpakutou. Each student goes through this class learning their strengths and weaknesses with their zanpakutou. This core class also counts as a Credit to your passing of the Shinigami Academy.

Rui entered the classroom and took a seat in the front row. Not his normal seat but this was one of the most important classes to him. His strength in kido wasn't going to be strong, he already knew that. Back in the mortal relm swordsmanship was his way of life... and here... at the academy... in the world of the Shinigami... their sword... was their soul...

Mahiro ends up entering the Zanjutsu "Swords techniques class" after reciving the order to become the teacher of the course from Yamamoto himself. Taking a moment to relax and breath she looks at the lone student that was already there and also feels the spiritual precense of the other student that was just coming into the classroom.
Taking a boken from the boken holder she says:
"Well seems like we should start with the basics once he arrives eh ?"

Taking a moment to look into the place the young boy walks in with both eyes closed. He was not the kind of person that liked company nor the kind of person that liked other people help. Carrying a big wooden log in his hand and his sealed zampakutou on his back he sets foot on the classroom. "I am Hiai nice to meet you sensei..." His depressive eyes move to look at the other student and so he says: "Is nice to meet you too sempai" He knew the other student was older than him and so he deserved some respect. After a few seconds he comes to his sense and notice the woman in front of him was no other than his childhood friend Mahiro. Showing a really small smile he says: "Never thought you would graduate the academy before me further more, never thought you would become my master..."

Mahiro smirks as she looks at her little "sibling" and points at him with her boken. "Ha! I told you I was not going to fall behind you! However even as you are just a new boy in the academy I have faith in you and if you allow me to I will help you become as strong as I am...now let's have a little spar...I want to know how strong you have become!" It was at this moment that Mahiro noticed the huge log on his hand, what kind of training have he been enduring she thought, however she knew the best way to find out was by fighting him head on. Taking a normal middle stance she waits for him to attack.

Nodding to his sister he smiles softly and lifts the huge boken over his head. He was too poor to afford a real sword and he knew training with this wooden log was going to help him build more stamina and more strength in the arms. His Kidou was really weak making him relay on his zanjutsu even more. Few seconds pass and so the young boy charges at her taking a swing at her chest area, a really basic move but this was just training so showing his real skill was not necessary.

"Well since it seems like you already know some fighting techniques I guess there is no need for me to hold back."
Thanks to her middle stance avoilding or blocking that attack was going to be easy. Moving his sword forward she stops his blade and trys to push him back. Her eyes meet his and many memories return to her head as she continues pushing trying to make him go off balace.

He holds his ground against her attack and pushes back her blade. His arms start to shake as the sound of cracking wood can be heard. His eyes were focus on hers all the time. He was a weird one indeed, the way he trained and the way he mastered the art of the sword in the mountains made him fight without style. Feeling like pushing anymore was pointless he quickly jumps backward impulsed by her sword he lands a few feet's away and quickly runs to her taking yet another swing at her.

Mahiro was about to counter attack when she saw the blade coming. He was faster than she expected and so the wooden log manages to touch her chest a little but not enough to do any damage. Taking the moment to strike the upper part of his sword she smiles and tries to hit his sword down to disarm him.

Aware of her move his spin his boken so the part that was suppose to be the blade was upwards and quickly moves it back up stopping her blade. At the moment he was in disadvantage because of the position of his sword, however his body was still free and so he let's go of his sword handle and tries to punch her across the face with his hand.

Rui sat and watched in amazement
"How the hell could he use that log to fight off her?!"
He thought. Unsheathing his sword he ran his hand along the front of the blade... Dull as could be. His sakabato was odd... This was the shape that it had taken when he had recieved it however, why?
"Why is mine the only one with the blade fliped?"
He questioned a little aggervated. He knew that at some point he'd be able to talk to the soul of his Zanpakkuto but he was no where near the experience to be able to hear it... He slamed the blade back into the sheath and crossed his arms while being seated.
"I call next round"
Rui said out loud as he sensed the Reiatsu of the two others.

Her ability to dodge the blow was inminent thanks to her intensive training in the hakuda arts and the style she developed on her own. Catching her punch with her right hand she launches a kick to his abdomen trying to push him away and put him at her mercy. "Yes..." She responded to the other student who seemed to be deep in meditation with his zampaktou, something that to her eyes was good.

He receives the kick and obviously closes his eyes in pain as small droops of blood come from his face. Flying back to the ground he finds himself covered in pain, however instead of giving up he just lowers his upper body to land on his back and jumps back on his feet in one single movement. As he lands on his feet he stands on a normal karate stance with both fist closed forward and quickly charges to her aiming to kick her with a simple flying kick.

Mahiro just stands a side as she see him flying to her and quickly hits him in the lower back with her elbow. Smiling as she turns around to look at him she says: "Such a basic move won't work on me...you need to focus more on your hakuda...however for now I guess we should continue with your zanjutsu." She said as she kicked his huge wooden log and sent it flying to him.
