The main civilian population center of Seafoam, Island 4 is the most densely-populated and built-up island in the entire archipelago, featuring countless apartment buildings, shopping centers, hotels, high-rises, and businesses. Quite possibly the most popular beach on the entire island, Sandestin Beach lines the southeastern edge of Island 4, and thus does not face any other part of the archipelago; looking out from the shore, the only thing one would see is the crystal-clear tropical ocean, stretching on to the horizon. Sandestin Beach is also home to the largest fishing pier in the territories of the ICFP. At 1,471 feet long, the Sandestin Pier extends beyond two sandbars and offers not only a variety of fishing locations, but also a small bar and grill.

arrow General Ganale's Apartment
Chris sat in front of the computer in his apartment. For once, he was not wearing his much-hated dress uniform, nor the far more comfortable pair of forest BDUs. At the moment, he was wearing shorts and a wife beater. The media player on his computer was blaring "King of Kings" by Motorhead.
As he stared down at the holographic projection game table to his left, and the various vehicles and vessels projected from it, he idly pondered that just the tune of King of Kings, if not the words, seemed fitting.
"X-wing ten to block alpha nine."
As he spoke, a miniaturized hologram of an X-wing flashed to indicate it was the one chosen, then turned forty-five degrees to the right and advanced to the first square in that direction.
"AT-AT two fires on X-wing ten. One less X-wing."
In the far corner of the opposite board, an AT-AT hologram flashed, then fired paired blaster cannons that crossed the battlefield and slammed into the X-wing hologram, destroying it completely.
"Dammit. Paint AT-AT two for an orbital strike."
They were playing pretty much a made-up game. It was called Quadrant, and he had pieced together the rules and the playing field after reading one of the X-wing books. He figured that it was pretty much a Star Wars version of the old Battleship game.
He was losing. As usual.

Todoka, the pokemon, sat there. He was being taken care off by the next door neighbors, but it wasn't fun while his master went off to do business stuff, not knowing his master was having the time of his life.

arrow Ketsu's Apartment A spider crawled along to floor, to be crunched under the shoe of a weird looking guy who needed a shave. He wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a white jacket. The oddest thing about him was probally his overgrown hair, or maybe his blue eyes, or the five pokeballs at his hips. Or even the katana at his right hip, signify he was left handed. "Stupid bug..." He said as he pulled his jacket on the rest of the way, shook his head, messing up the hair to make it look cool, grabbing his keys, and heading out the door.

With summer waning and fall already beginning to extend its cool grip to the mainland Kanto region, Seafoam's subtropical climate was like a beacon for last-minute vacationers. While not necessarily jam-packed, beaches all across the nonrestricted islands of the archipelago had their usual late-summer numbers of tourists, all of which was being very helpful to Seafoam's economy.
It was the first Sunday in October, and that meant it was time to kick-start a brand-new Seafoam tradition: the annual End of Summer Beach Party. General Ganale had sent word throughout the military that nonessential personnel were to receive the day off so that they could come join the fun and games, and civilians had also gotten the word by way of the civilian news stations. Truth be told, the good general wasn't expecting a huge turnout.
So far, it was just him and Sohee. He'd located a good spot on the beach and used a little Elemental manipulation to carve out an open-air fire pit just like the way the Hawaiians did, and at the moment the only thing grilling was a couple of hamburgers and hotdogs for himself and Sohee.
"If nothing else, I wager people will wander by for free food and the chance to see me wearing something other than uniforms and civvies."
To fit the occasion, he was clad in a garish red Hawaiian shirt, matching swimtrunks, a pair of sandals, and some shades to block out the sun. He plopped down in a beach chair and picked up a bottle of sunscreen, then began applying the sunscreen to exposed skin. Even though he could make himself largely immune to physical assault at will, he was still vulnerable to sunburn.
Even Sohee was dressed for the occasion. She was clad in a one-piece swimsuit that she would never, ever wear under any other circumstances, and had a pair of sunglasses tucked into her hair; not that she needed them by any stretch of the imagination, of course.
Once her master had finished with the sunscreen, she took the bottle in a mental grip and also began applying it to her own exposed skin; her pale complexion made her even more susceptible to sunburn. A sunburn would greatly annoy her, and to say the very least, an annoyed Sohee was bad news for anybody.

Zix came strolling onto the beach from a long deck. He had rented a room in a nearby hotel, and was planning on having everyone stay there at his expense. He saw Ganale grilling some meat, and would walk over in black swim trunks and a pink shirt. Over his eyes were a red pair of sunglasses. With a smile across his face he spoke.
"Hey there guys, ya'll look like ya havin fun." He said this chuckling.

Chris looked up as Zix approached, then turned a lazy eye to check on the food, before leaning back in his beach chair.
"Hey, man. Pull up a chair and stake a section of the pit. Drink?"
The cooler at his side only held soft drinks, but the only rules at Sandestin Beach concerning alcohol were don't give any to minors, and don't leave a mess.

"Sounds good." Said Zix, taking a beach chair and pulling it to the left most of them. Sitting down he looked at the ice chest and spoke.
"'Cha got?"

::Island 4::
As things went underway, many people would wonder why a Navy LST was so close to the beach. No matter. The wake it made gave some surfers a nice time of their lives, before what looked like a Sharpedo fin was traveling parallel to the shore. Only people would see this, and it was going SLOOOOOOOWWWWW. Then, the foam fin would detatch, revealing a large snorkel which spewed semi-transparent black smoke.
Uh Oh.

The smell of food was rather easily picked up by one person, a female who had been wandering down the beach with wet hair and a outfit very unfitting for the setting. She could be seen leasurely strolling toward the pit that had caught her eye and nose in her dark gray tanktop and extremely tiny shorts matched with belt that kept the miniature lower garments on.
The person would probably look unfamiliar to those who even bothered to look in her direction, the black hair and outfit that stuck out in this enviroment not helping to identify the person until she was within a few feet of the group, her head held up and nose sniffing the hair.
"Is that .. a hotdog!?"
It was all she said and probably all she needed to say in order to get attention, her hands moving to her waist as she bent forward to get a look at the thing. It seemed the General's plan had worked and he was right, food attracted friends.

Reaching over, he grabbed the cooler and heaved it up, across him, and then dropped it back to the sand in under two seconds. Hey, all that ice, water, and soda is heavy, you know.
"Mostly just Sunkist and coke. Hey, I like what I like."
He held a half-consumed 20-oz bottle of coke in his hand and as he noticed that at least one person was beginning to be drawn to the little cookout, he raised an eyebrow.
Sohee, always having to be different, was sitting on the lowest branch of an overhead palm tree, waiting patiently for the food to finish grilling.
The snorkeling...whatever...drew her wandering attention and she 'stared' at it; even in this casual atmosphere, she still kept her eyes permanently closed.

The snorkel now made it's way shore. Smoke came up more now, and the thing went faster. Just then, a cannon came up from the serene water. Well, whatever. A periscope was extended. From the clear water, a tank could be made up, with the Iron cross of General Todoka's personal Armored Company.
In the tank, Quinn spoke,in hesitant German, to the crew, who knew as much German as he does.
"Der Strand! Der Strand! Herauf die Boot Rampe lassen Sie uns Stimmung des Generals Ganale ruinieren." Quinn said with a grin.
"Jawhol, Herr General" was the response, then laughter.

"Nah, I'm ok." Zix leaned his head back, looking out over the sand and smiling as the scent of the roasting hotdogs made his mouth water.

The lone woman didn't pay any attention to the raised eyebrow, her eyes focused on the meaty treat she hadn't gotten a taste of in some time. She had been mostly eating fish captured from her weekly swims into the deeper ends of the water, the fish delicious but still not as flavored as a hotdog.
Without invitation the woman sat down, her form taking up a indian-style cross legged position infront of the pit, eyes losing focus only for a moment as she began to look around at who the chef was. It was then that she noticed just who was responsible and began to wonder just how wise it was to wander into a cookout without first introducing yourself.
"Ah, you're ..."
She paused as her vision moved from the General to Zix who was someone she had never met but most likely a friend of the General's since he too was captivated by the hotdogs, the man had good taste.
"General, I am sorry for my impolite intrusion, I had never seen you dressed like this and so did not expect you to come outside dressed so ..." a mistake was about to be made ".. fruity."
She didn't even catch the fact that it was probably a bad idea to call Seafoam's General fruity, her eyes having wandered back to the hotdog that had first captivated you.

He glanced over to Zix to indicate that he'd heard and acknowledged the man, then turned back to the woman. Leaning back into his chair, he planted his left elbow on the chair arm, and leaned his head against his fist.
"You know, if I wasn't so lazy, I'd kick you square in the he-"
Cue Marine landing craft.
"Why hello there."
Sohee was neither lazy, nor required to move to kick someone in the head. So long as she had line of sight, she could deliver equivalent force.
And so she did just that. Alisa, take 12d10 of bludgeoning damage to the head, or make a Will save for half damage. [Psychic Element/Psychic]
