Profile

Name: Lucian
Age: 8
Gender: Male
Hair/fur: Purple, w/ dark purple stripes
Eyes: Bright Green
Height: 3’ 4”
Weight: 52 lb.

Personality: Lucian is always smiling. At times it comes off as highly disturbing. Especially when he is in states of extreme emotions, be it happy, sad, or angry. He also laughs a lot, particularly when he gets nervous. Generally, he’s a happy, yet confused child. As it is hard for others to read his expressions, he finds it hard to understand other people’s feelings. This frustrates him, and he gives in to mood swings, though not yet very frequently.
It is also hard for him to speak with them, as his language is often tied up and confused. Sometimes what he says does not seem to make any sense, or does not at all pertain to the situation at hand. Also, he has a tendency to begin speaking in rhyme.
Coupled with this sporadic poetry-speech is a love for riddles. After a time of confusing people by accident, Lucian began to get a taste for confusing them intentionally. If you are ever in need of information, do not come to Lucian, for you will leave him knowing less than when you’d started.

About LSD

LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is one of the major drugs making up the hallucinogen class of drugs. Hallucinogens cause hallucinations—profound distortions in a person’s perception of reality. Hallucinogens cause their effects by disrupting the interaction of nerve cells and the neurotransmitter serotonin. Distributed throughout the brain and spinal cord, the serotonin system is involved in the control of behavioral, perceptual, and regulatory systems, including mood, hunger, body temperature, sexual behavior, muscle control, and sensory perception.__Under the influence of hallucinogens, people see images, hear sounds, and feel sensations that seem real but do not exist. Some hallucinogens also produce rapid, intense emotional swings. One of the most potent mood-changing chemicals, LSD, was discovered in 1938 and is manufactured from lysergic acid, which is found in ergot, a fungus that grows on rye and other grains.

Health Hazards
The effects of LSD are unpredictable. They depend on the amount taken; the user's personality, mood, and expectations; and the surroundings in which the drug is used. Usually, the user feels the first effects of the drug 30 to 90 minutes after taking it. The physical effects include dilated pupils, higher body temperature, increased heart rate and blood pressure, sweating, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth, and tremors.__Sensations and feelings change much more dramatically than the physical signs. The user may feel several different emotions at once or swing rapidly from one emotion to another. If taken in a large enough dose, the drug produces delusions and visual hallucinations. The user’s sense of time and self changes. Sensations may seem to "cross over," giving the user the feeling of hearing colors and seeing sounds. These changes can be frightening and can cause panic.__Users refer to their experience with LSD as a "trip" and to acute adverse reactions as a "bad trip." These experiences are long; typically they begin to clear after about 12 hours.__Some LSD users experience severe, terrifying thoughts and feelings, fear of losing control, fear of insanity and death, and despair while using LSD. Some fatal accidents have occurred during states of LSD intoxication.__Many LSD users experience flashbacks, recurrence of certain aspects of a person's experience, without the user having taken the drug again. A flashback occurs suddenly, often without warning, and may occur within a few days or more than a year after LSD use. Flashbacks usually occur in people who use hallucinogens chronically or have an underlying personality problem; however, otherwise healthy people who use LSD occasionally may also have flashbacks. Bad trips and flashbacks are only part of the risks of LSD use. LSD users may manifest relatively long-lasting psychoses, such as schizophrenia or severe depression. It is difficult to determine the extent and mechanism of the LSD involvement in these illnesses.__Most users of LSD voluntarily decrease or stop its use over time. LSD is not considered an addictive drug since it does not produce compulsive drug-seeking behavior, as do cocaine, amphetamine, heroin, alcohol, and nicotine. However, like many of the addictive drugs, LSD produces tolerance, so some users who take the drug repeatedly must take progressively higher doses to achieve the state of intoxication that they had previously achieved. This is an extremely dangerous practice, given the unpredictability of the drug.

About The Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire Cat is a character that is originally found in Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. His first appearance was in the home of the Duchess, where Alice discovers him:
“…a large cat, which was lying on the hearth, and grinning from ear to ear.
‘Please, would you tell me,’ said Alice, a little timidly, for she was not quite sure whether it was good manners to speak first, ‘why your cat grins like that?’
‘It’s a Cheshire Cat,’ said the Duchess, ‘and that’s why.’
Alice discovers the Cheshire Cat again later, as the Duchess’ baby turns into a pig. He speaks in what seem to be sensible riddles.

He does not actually make an appearance in the second Alice adventure, Through the Looking-Glass.
But, he remains an immensely popular character.
He was a round, lovable round and purple thing in Disney’s rendition, voiced by Sterling Holloway, also known as the voice of Winnie the Pooh. ^^
He turned rather dark later on, as he attracted a new crowd. One prime example would be the version portrayed in American McGee’s Alice. His smile has turned much more twisted, and sinister, and overall rather evil.
One of my favorite media portrayals of him, however, would have to be when Woopie Goldberg played him in a television presentation of the story.

No matter how the Cheshire Cat is portrayed, he remains a classic and timeless character of complete absurdity and lovable confusion. His manner of speech and his seemingly drug-induced quirks make him a truly exciting base for this character, and I shall do my best to do him justice.

**I may one day expand on this ‘Unbelievably Brief "History" of the Cheshire Cat,’ but for now this will do.

Many Happy Returns...

The Creator of Toxicity quietly moved down the rows of horrible poisons, lined and archived on shelves like a scientific work of art. He collected a small vial with an eyedropper and looked at the substance closely. A drug, a powerful one, and one he was soon glad to immunize himself against. The Nameless One took three drops and places them on his palm, as he made his way slowly towards the eery pool. It was here the black construct dubbed “ The first” waited silently with a small animal in its grasp. A gray and white striped cat, curled up purring in one arm of The First as it softly pet it with a cold stone hand.

”Bring it here”

The cold command of The Nameless One sent his servant forwards, presenting the feline to its master. He grabbed the cat by the back of the neck and lifted it from the constructs grasp, staring at it eye to eye. The cat seemed still as if hypnotized by the eyes of the one holding it, and didn’t even blink when a gloved hand covered in a strange substance wiped it on the cat’s mouth.

The Nameless One, while he waited for the drug to course its way through the feline, slipped a deadly sharp dagger from his belt and drew it across his arm. The thick black blood of the dark one began to seep from the crevice he carved from his flesh. It was then he looked to the cat, and did the same. The animal made no sound as it was cut, only stared out into the darkness. The Nameless One took the blood soaked dagger and flicked it at the pool, and waited with anticipation of the outcome.

The process was complete, and The Nameless One circled his new experiment, a hybrid of human, chemical and animal, one that wasn’t poisonous. It amused him, the coloring and his design reminded him much of the fictional character created so long ago. As he had done with the others, he reached out his hand to touch the child’s forehead, the awakening had begun.

” Happy birthday, and welcome to Toxicity.”
