I've had it sitting around. I really want #2 so I can have a nice long sit. Just wondering, how many volumes of the manga make what's in the anime. There is more to the manga, but how much do I have to read to get to new stuff?

I've read vol. 2 and 3.
Volume 2 has the Devil's Trill and Volume 3 has the one where they're on the Queen Camilla. Volume 1 must have the vampire and the stuff that happened before Hijiri. Maybe volume 4 finishes the anime series. I'm not sure though...since I've only read two of them.

I have better information about the manga now! Yesterday I bought all volumes up to volume 8. Aparently....in volume 3 is the tarot card case. Tehn after it the manga goes into different cases that are not included in the anime...then in volume 7 it goes into the Kyoto files and the Kyoto files ends in volume 8. Yep.
That info is for anyone who really wants to know....I just wanted to say what I discovered. xD
Oh yeah...volume 4 has a very interesting yaoi case....for anyone who cares.

volume 4 is the only one that deserves to be rated 16+ in my opinion. i just wish we could see more TsuSoka scenes!

yeah have you noticed that a lot of rating are totally NOT what the story should be rated? Yami no Matsuei is a perfect example, i think its 13+ but the people who do the ratings think otherwise... its the same for Loveless. 16+ for what? for seeing a boy kiss a boy? there are a few 13+ shonen-ai manga out there, so what makes them different? i think the raters are either high when theyre working on it, or they jsut have warped judgement. that, or theres some miniscule and obscure technicality that causes the rating to be what it is, even though most fans overlook whatever it is they saw...

the manga i think is the best cause it continues on with where the anime ends but i like the anime to cause it was more about the quality of the manga then how many episodes they can put in the series to totally ruin it

yeah i dont pay attention to rating anymore either, ive learned not to. i mean, if something says "16+" and really has nothign that MAKES it 16+, then who cares if i read it! i mean really, Only the Ring Finger Knows is 16+ but theres really not legitimate reason. i think the raters are on drugs XD i mean, if the Yami no Matsuei anime is 13+, dont you think thats an indication that ONE of them is probably misrated? i agree with the 13+ one, personally. but yeah i guess the moral is, never listen to ratings.
