She glanced around. Good. Aruna was asleep (for once! Seriously, that mare looked like she could go for weeks without sleep...) and the little filly annoyance, Aruna's niece, Mocha, was also fast asleep. Strange, Shimshek noticed that Aruna usually slept during the day... Mocha usually slept at night, but it was her naptime, anyway.
Smiling to herself, she quietly trotted away. Hania was out visiting his mate, Mahiri (whoever that was...), and she was alone. With free time. Yes. She felt lonely. Oh, the presense of her "adopted?" family helped to wittle away that feeling, but only for so long. After Artemis Entreri, things had been looking down for her. Very down.
She found herself being kinder (though still a bit vain, but at least she wasn't arrogant anymore) thanks to Nagual An and Crystallin Arrose, both of whom she valued dearly as friends. But she needed someone different. A closer friend. She nearly wished Inali was around, but she doubted the mare would like her new change of thoughts.
Brooding, she continued to contemplate her new, unusual thoughts.

Myoa flew in the air, graceful an dswift as ever. She loved flying, but a part of her was very lonely. She had nobody to share her joy with. Jeevita, her teepee-mate, was a alicorn, and couldn't fly with the same speed and height Myoa could.
She smiled as she flew through a cloud. It gave her such a crisp and refreshed feeling, she longed to be able to share it even more. As she flipped through the air, a flash of bright yellow caught her eye. Who was that?

Shimshek fluttered her wings to help her to cool off. All this thinking was causing her body temperature to rise (now wasn't that odd?). Her thoughts continued their whirlwind of traveling around in her mind. They soon shifted to Jeevita, someone who she silently admitted to be a sister-kin. Not only was Jeevita also a birthstone soquili, but she matched Shimshek herself in beauty. Beauty was a mare's pride, in Shimshek's opinion, and all should hold it well.

Myoa flew down a little lower. There! The flash of color she had saw was a beautiful white and yellow mare. She looked like a goddess, shimmering in the sunlight. Now, Myoa landed completely. She fluttered her wings, gosh, it was hotter without winds! "Hello." She called out.

Shimshek turned just in time to see a beautiful, glittering mare land before her. Today was hot out... the mare greeted her, and she in turn, did as well. "Greetings," she called, a smile twitching on her face. The mare was beautiful--a sparkling emerald green, though she doubted that's what this mare was. Emerald did not fit this mare's color, rather... maybe malachite? No... no, it was peridot. How beautiful. "And to whom do I owe the pleasure of meeting today?" she asked. "Shimshek," she added, "is my name."

Myoa smilied. She had realized why the mare gilttered so. She was the Pearl, just as she was the Peridot. They were both Birthstones, distant kin. Shimshek was a wind Soquili just like Myoa, and she felt a rush of excitement race through her. She had never met another pure wind before! "Greetings Shimshek, Myoa is my name." Myoa flexed her wings again, it seriously was hot! "How are you this fine afternoon?"

"This fine afternoon so happens to be extremely hot," Shimshek retorted, not meaning to sound irritable. She just hated sweating. Calming, she apologized. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap. Hello, Myoa, a pleasure." Myoa was the first pure wind mare Shimshek had met. She knew plenty of stallions with a snaggle of mares here and there, but she had met a pure wind before, a stallion named Wakinyan. A handsome one, if a bit strange. Excitement brewed within her, however, as she realized something. Myoa was a wind mare... a birthstone mare... they were distant kin! Cousins, almost! She suddenly smiled brightly at Myoa. "Although the afternoon is hot, perhaps we should move to the shade and get to know one another?"

Myoa smiled. "Or, would you like a flight?" Her eyes danced at the prospect of sharing the joy of flight with her cousin (of sorts). Not only that, it was much cooler because of the altitude, winds, and clouds. She glowed about learning more about Shimshek. She was an interesting character aready, and Myoa believed they could be good friends.

She smiled at Myoa's suggestion. "Why, of course. A lovely suggestion--an offer I'll gladly accept!" With a lunge and a sweep of her wings, she launched into the air. Her darker side blamed Nagual An for making her kinder, light side come out. Was she so two-faced that she was mentally fighting? No matter. Liking Myoa's personality already, she hovered slightly as she waited for her newfound friend.

Myoa grinned and streaked up towards Shimshek. She circled around gently, enjoying the first moments of flight. Myoa could read emotions fairly well, and she saw a flicker of mental struggle pass through Shimshek. No matter, Myoa was not oging to meddle, unless it was positively called for. Myoa herself had a troubled past, one she only recently had been able to look back at without confusion.

Shimshek hoped Myoa didn't notice anything, having been told (often by Aruna herself) that her eyes spoke volumes even though her facial expression was neutral, though the rare times she smiled or said anything snideful or any other extra emotional randomness was a thing to be thought about. She wasn't one to think a good horse with sense could go without emotion (aside from that idiot Artemis Entreri... argh, he just made her want to scream...) but for now, she would enjoy this moment of swimming the air. "Quick, are we? Perhaps a race is in order?" she questioned, before zooming past Myoa. "First one to the wide river over there gets to eat an apple off that apple tree!" she called, snickering before darting off.

Myoa smirked. Shimshek was clearly a good flyer, and she longed to be challenged so. "Fair enough!" She called, then streaked ahead. She laughed, carefree and content. This was the life! Myoa did a double flip, just for the heck of it. She was happy, and not afraid to show it!

"You showoff!" Shimshek returned, and with a smirk, did a wide arch of a midair "dance", knowing that would put her to a slight advantage, since the "dance" helped her to catch the wind and thus helped to speed and move faster. She didn't know Myoa that well, but obviously this mare was a challenge, since she also looked to be an excellent flyer. We'll see about that! she thought, laughing.

Myoa looked mildly offended, in a tease-tone way. "Me! The showoff?" She smirked. She reconizged the mid-air dance Shim preformed, and had the perfect counter-step. It was a difficult move, one made for cutting wind, then using it to your advantage. It was a move that had once saved Myoa's life, and she was rather good at it. She dived, then retracted her wings and began to spin. The difficulty of the technique was that you were completely blinded my the wind, and that you were litterally falling. Myoa measured her fall rate with the wind. Using it, she predicted when she would hit the ground...and there! At the last moment, Myoa pulled out her wings with a great force, and cut through the sky. She was now riding the spinning winds that used to be pushing her down. Myoa had the advantage.
