Kathleen Hanna is like the Riot Grrrl poster child or something. She is an amazing woman and the singer for the band Le Tigre. In the early 90's she was in the band Bikini Kill and she totally rocked out. Then she went solo and made her own one woman band named Julie Ruin, which didn't rock as much but still said some seriously hardcore feminist stuff. I would recommend listening to both of these bands because they are amazing and say so much about women and society and just everything. This thread is for the hardcore Kathleen Hanna lovers out there. You don't have to write a lot in here just give a shout out to the greatest Riot Grrrl ever! WE LOVE YOU KATHLEEN HANNA!!!

i have all the le tigre cd's & one bikini kill. julie ruin is impossible to find, at least for me in my southern-hick town.
i'm stealing this off of a friend's lj: http://www.soulshine.ca/news/newsarticle.php?nid=1880 apparently, kathleen, jd, & jo are going to be writing for paris hilton. she (the friend) also said that kathleen was modeling, & she had some pictures, but i don't know where she got them from.
i still love kathleen hanna, although i'm not a super-hardcore fan.

wow paris hilton? crazy.
and i don't think they even produce the julie ruin cd's anymore. it's a bummer... but you can still buy them off of ebay and there are even a few julie ruin mp3's floating around on the internet.

i forgot about ebay. they have it on itunes also, though, so i'm just going to download it. it's cheaper that way.

I just got the Julie Ruin CD from a friend. Apparently, her parents are friends with someone who knows Kathleen Hanna.

that's so cool. apparently my sister allison knows kathleen hanna but not too well. i think they're just aquaintences (sp?) or something.

i wish i had contacts like that. however, i live in alabama, and no one good bothers coming here. my sister is also only 10, so she wouldn't be much help.

Huzzah I think Kathleen O' Herra is a great artist both Bikini Kill and Le Tigre are so awsome. I like Le tigre's first album best and also I think it had a different keyboard player but I still like thier new stuff I don't have any Bikini Kill cd's Because they all have some of my favourite songs so I don't know hich to get and also which cd is "Strawberry Julius" and "Rah!Rah!Replica!" on? I've only seen them on "The Singles" CD

Yeah because I couldn't find what they were on but I think I'll get the singles record because it has New Radio and Rebel Girl as well even though theres only 9 tracks but maybe it'll be cheaper that way. If it is I will get a full cd too biggrin

i have p***y whipped and reject all american. i'm getting the singles next. i don't think "strawberry julius" and "rah! rah! replica!" were on a cd; they're just cd-less singles.
