I'm thinking of going into the fashion industry and only making clothes for big girls. Can the ladies here please tell me what they'd like to have in the way of clothing?

I can't tell you, because for years my silly dream that I pay no real attention to has been to open up my own clothing store with my own designs so that it'd be clothing I liked to wear.
Personally, I want to have clothing that my skinny friend's would wear or even envy me for. That's all I want, is to not have to dress like a granny, or dress less hip and trendy because it either doesn't look right on me or costs entirely more than a friggin' spaghetti strap top should. The closest I've found to that is some XL stuff in Wal-mart, which tends twoards the tighter side on me, or else Lane Bryant... which until recently was mostly designed for women older than me, or depserately fat who want to look nice and have the money to afford it.
I prefer simple looks, or skanky looks (I have odd, varied taste). I love layering and color. I love wearing somewhat tight jackets over t-shirts or spagetti straps. I prefer spaghetti straps but it's harder to find some that aren't too short. I love short jackets myself, but I know a lot of people who don't get that whole jacket that covers half your waist thing. I think shirts with designer names over the front tend twoards tacky and ridiculous (why do I want to pay to be a billboard?). I hate T-shirts that say the crap like "Don't hate me because your boyfriend wants me" and all that fake attitude s**t. Bright colors, beautiful pictures, some of it's hard to properly describe in just words... not all bright colors are made the same. I want to buy things that show off and flatter my figure, not just hide it. Too many big girls try to hide their fat behind baggy clothes, and they hide their shape, too... and they tend to make themselves look worse.
I also want to see nicely made corsets and lingerie. Cachique or however you spell it is the only brand of lingerie/under clothes I can get. I think they're nice, but it doesn't leave for too much option. Instead of having corsets that fasten or are laced up in the front, they all hook in the back (which is more difficult to get on and less sexy to take off if you're trying to do a sensual strip for your special someone wink )
I doubt much of that helped, I was very vague. But like I said, a lot of what I want I'd have to draw in pictures. I'd still like to design clothes for my own store someday, though I doubt I will. But I can't just let out all my secrets, just in case neutral

Right now I'm obsessed with skirts because I have really nice legs, and also shirts that fit around my bust, but flow outwards so you can't see how big my tummy is. I can't tell you how excruciatingly hard it is to find ANYTHING that fits me in the bust area. Most empire waistlines settle right across the largest part of my bust, even in XXL size clothing, it's like they think that girls who are fat have no tits or something confused I would love to find some thick strapped haltertops that have a looong torso, and a good fit in the bust. I'll probably end up having to make my own though XD

I just wanna see cute clothes that aren't old lady stuff or ugly as hell. Mostly everywhere I go, all the plus size stuff is HIDEOUS or you have to pay an assload for it. It's like people that make it think that fat chicks should look ugly, so we get hated on more.
That's why I usually stick with Wal-Mart, I can wear junior's L tops and XL bottoms... so it's not that ugly, it just falls apart easily. rolleyes
Lane Bryant is okay, but it doesn't beat a clearance rack of $3 stuff at Wal-Mart. xp

I forgot to mention, I hate shelf bras in spaghetti strap tops. Either they're not made to fit girls that are bigger than a C or maybe B, or they just suck for anybody with boobs because I have to wear a bra underneath the shirt to hold my breasts up from where the shelf bra pulls down, when I wear another bra the shelf bra will sit a third of the way up my boob. If I go braless, I'm about to pop out all the time.
And I'd love to find skirts, too. I have fantastic legs, but I only have two skirts and one I don't really care for but I've had it for years and hardly worn it, and the other I like but it has retarded little sequins on it. I like those denim skirts with the different, patterened material sewn on the bottom to be all flowy whee
Also, shorts. I can't find any good shorts 'cause if they fit my waist perfectly the butt and such is waaaaaaay too baggy and I feel like an old lady. If I go a size down they're too tight around the waist but fit perfectly everywhere else.

Can you make stuff for fat guys as well? We need love, too. I always feel bad when I see a cute guy walk past in awesome clothes and wish I were skinny so I could wear them.

Matuso Can you make stuff for fat guys as well? We need love, too. I always feel bad when I see a cute guy walk past in awesome clothes and wish I were skinny so I could wear them. I was just having a debate with a guy yesterday who was upset because he thought that society was harder on fat women in general, and how they aren't like that to bigger guys, and one of his arguements was they don't make nice clothes for fat women but they do for bigger guys.
I guess part of his arguement is that a lot of guys in general from what I've seen don't try to dress super amazing, so clothes get made in their size sweatdrop

now, you must take many shapes into consideration. pear-shaped, hourglassy, busty, round, or more square-ish. (people come in squares, just like crackers!!! biggrin and I don't mean white people.) I'm kinda more of the hourglass-type with large hips and bustages and even in the wal-mart junior xl's the shirts seem to appear larger on the rack then they are on mine XD and if I go up a size, it's a BIG difference!! I feel like I'm in a tent. but what I'd really like are nice punky, or hippiesque clothes that make bewbies look gewd. and emphasize hippages. c: cuz I love my handes.

I think the problem is mass-production. Everyone is forced into the lowest common demonitor, almost literaly here, so there is no accounting for indivdiual body variances. I think that custom-clothing should be cheaper. An individual tailor rather than a store is the best way to go.
