Amputecture is the first album that doesn't have original artwork made for it. Do you think this takes away from it at all? Frances and De-loused both had a very interesting array of images, but Amputecture doesn't draw me in visually at all. I've adopted Big Mutant as the visual symbol for the album, but I don't love it the way I did Storm Thorgerson's contributions to Frances. I feel lonely without a booklet of weird volta images. Very lonely.

what kind of art is on the inside of the booklet? I haven't bought it yet. sweatdrop
I love love LOVE Jeff Jordan. It's an amazing piece of art, very Mars Volta, but you're right. I think they should've had someone listen to the album then paint/draw/pull out of their a** a cover that they feel relates to the album.

I really like the big mutant. Even though it wasn't made for them, it's still pretty damn cool. However, the artwork inside the booklet is a bit... bland? They could have put some more thought into it.

It's just The mutant thing and uhm..what is it, the midget thing? D: I can't remember the name.
I adore the De-Loussed art. The Frances art was..mysterious? 0:

I like it, especially since the earthy colours remind me of Mexican/Latino art (I'm Hispanic, yo). The first two album covers were crazed out, yet beautiful.

I don't know... I have a love/hate relationship to it. XD I like it because it does seem to fit in a weird way, not just because it looks like Latino art, but just because... I don't like it because it's kind of just there, nothing really stands out from it, all bland colors... I do like the inside with the lyrics though. That was done nicely...
