On the edges of the temple, where old stone finally gave way to pure grass and where trees were supposed to grow, sat a small, freckled Malu. Sitting fairly erect, large, pale yellow eyes gazed almost dreamily out into the scattered trees and current scenery.
It was early. It was the time where thick fog was still rolling over distant hills and carpeted the nearby ground in an eerie fashion. Everything still had a purple to blue tint, the sun unable to fully get its rays up from the eastern mountains. The air had a n** to it when it blew in small breezes, swirling the fog around the young Malu’s body before resuming its lumpy texture and floating aimlessly around.
“Hmm hmm hmmmm,” hummed the freckled young one as she flicked a tall ear. Fall was her season, but this was definitely her time of day. Only it’d be prettier with some flame colored leaves…

The day was pleasant, sunny, giving off small hints of the upcomming fall winds as they swirled up faint chills. Although it was still the morning, Chael was up quite early....unable to sleep. Thoughts of shrines ran through his head as he had encountered quite a few around the temple. He felt strongly about paying tribute to his God, afterall he had learned so much from his guidance - it was only right for him to do so. Sighing softly as his breath created a small puff of steam, the malu figured it would be best to keep this in mind.
Passing by one of the temple enterances, by chance his gaze wandered out into the changing world and spotted a Malu he hadn't seen before. This little one was young, much like when he first met Loki. Tilting his head slightly, a smile crossed his lips as he paused in step...turning and making his way gently out onto the grass. The fog hung low on the ground, creating the illusion that they were floating along, the mist spreading out of his way with each step he took. As he neared the small female, he moved more slowly as he stood at her side.
"It's beautiful, isn't it? Watching each season come and go....its like watching life itself renewed every few mooncycles." Chael spoke, his eyes soft as he looked out at what she was looking at, his voice deep but kind as he always seemed to speak straight from the heart.

The freckled one looked up at the sudden words and presence of the large, blue Malu. One ear flicked to face him, the other still forward, as she tilted her head back a little to look at him. Pale yellow lanterns lingered on his wings, something she had never seen before.
"It needs more color," she stated a little plainly. Her eyes broke from stareing and went back to look at the floating mist.

"Hmmm. You might be right...." Chael spoke lightly, dropping his back legs to sit in a seated position. His wings gave a small ruffle as he continued to look out into the world; clinging to the last bits of summer before going through to the fall change. It seemed this one liked the Fall, for all the amazing oranges, reds and yellows.
"Heh...it must just be me then. Winter is my season afterall...nothing but the glimmering pale blues and whites for me."

"Au'um is mine," she said proudly, eyes looking back up at him as she spoke. She was young, and had barely even seen the fall before, but instinct just already told her who she followed.
"White nice, but red and orange are prettier," a giggle escaped the Malu.

"Autumn Huh? It seems like i've met another fellow nature follower." Chael spoke with a smile, yawning softly as he was still slightly groggy from awaking so early. He was rather curious how this little one could be so....awake. Perhaps it was because the sun rises late in Winter, which is what he was so used to. Slowly lowering his torso to the terra, he laid down beside her.
"Yet...did you know. If it snowed in Fall, the snow could reflect the colour of he leaves...it would be a nice sight to see." Although the possibilites were rare for there to be snow in fall, it could still happen. Turning to look at the femme, he nodded his head softly as he spoke.
"My name is Chael, may I know yours...little lady?"

The young one's eyes went wide with excitment at the very thought of flame colored snow. Her busy little mind ran and skipped with ideas and mental pictures to what that might look like...the fact that she had never seen snow before never really coming up...
So enthralled with her own thoughts, the freckled Malu had barely caught the other's question. "Wha-oh. I am Enoa! You Chh...Chayy....You Chay," she had quickly given up on trying to pronounce his name and just kept with some nickname that resembled it close enough.

Chuckling softly at the look of wonderous excitement in the little Malu's eyes, he tilted his muzzle up to the sky, breathing in the crisp air for a moment before looking around. It was still odd that they had seen no one around yet. Usually a few malu wandered the temple at this time of day.
"Chay is fine, Eona. Actually, i've never had a nickname before." He mused, with a smile before yawning. "You know, i'm starting to get a bit hungry. How about you? Would you like to join me to search for something edible?"

"Eh-i-bel? Food?" She asked, cocking her head to the side. Edible was definitely not in her vocabulary, but it sounded like an interesting word.
Still waiting for some answer, but not caring what it was, Enoa rose to her little feet. Tail flicked behind her in a ready-to-go signal.

"Edible. Eh-dih-bul." chael laughed lightly, looking down at the little femme as he realizes she was still young and probably didn't have an exstensive vocabulary yet. Gazing ahead, he trotted across the grassy lawn, occasionally looking at the trees for something to eat.
"It means something you can eat. So like...you wouldn't call a rock edible...but an apple is. get it?" He explained, wondering if she would understand.

"Maybe," she giggled lightly as she followed the azure Malu. Mist and fog parted and swirled in slow-motion as she moved and she could feel the dew moisten her paws and hooves.
Enoa studied the older one's movements; her pale eyes looking up at the trees when he did. "Where is eh-dih-bul things?" she was next to him now, her figure drawfed in comparison to his.

"Maybe huh..." He spoke softly, wondering how he could get her to understand the meaning of edible. He was assured she knew eating rocks was not something she would do....but to find something edible was another question.
"Hmmm. Edible things should be around here somewhere....AHA!"
Chael grinned, his walk turning into a small trot as he made his way over to a low hanging tree. On this tree rested the colourful Mango's....one of his many favorite treats.
"This, Enoa, is a Mango. It's sweet, and tastes very good so its edible!"
Tilting his head up, Chael grabbed a mango with his teeth, pulling at the stem with mild force before it snapped from the branch. Dipping his head down, he placed it at her feet and smiled before repeating the process and getting one for himself. Taking a bite out of the juicy fruit he smiled and licked his lips.
"Mmmm..."

Pale eyes looked from the mango at her feet, to the tree from which it came, to Chael, and then back at the mango. The bigger-than-her Malu seemed to enjoy it. Lowering her head to the fruit, she gave a small, personal nod to its nice coloring and to the sweet smell. Mouth opened a little and she took a small bite before taking a bigger one. she exclaimed through chewing the tastey, golden meat of the fruit.
"Other edible stuff this good?"

Chael smiled, laying down in the sunlight as it drifted through the autumn leaves. Gazing over to Eona as she busied herself with all the leaves on the ground, he was still amazed at how much she had grown. Now a spunky youth, he chuckled and laid his head down on his folded paws.
Soon, the 'winter' season would come. It would get chilly...yet it never did snow. This made Chael slightly saddened, missing the crisp chill of his homeland and waking up to the pristine mornings with the powder snow.
Oh well. He did enjoy it here with all of his new friends...so leaving wasn't completely what he wanted to do.

Enoa certainly had grown in both mind and spirit, though at the moment she whole mind thing wasn't showing too much. The freckled female bounded nimbly through the large piles of fire hued leaves she had pushed together, squeeing or shreaking with joy from her own antics. Her pattern of jumping was graceful, yet eratic and unpredictable, just like leaves falling from a tree, as she'd land square in the middle of the piles. leaves would fly up at her sides, but she wouldn't stay still long enough to let them drift down onto her body.
"Chay, is snow as fun as leaves?" Enoa gasped out her random question towards the azure Malu a little ways off. He was always saying something about winter and snow and ice, so it made her curiosity grow over the weeks.
