I know most of you aren't here to make hundreds of thousands of gold and such, but generally a little extra spending gold for commons, donation items, etc. It's actually quite simple to make a few thousand gold in a relatively short amount of time. Here, I will provide two options;
1. Vending 2. Hoarding
Vending is instant gratification, while hoarding takes time and lets inflation take it's natural, or sometimes not so natural, course.

Vending
Vending takes a certain level of skill. These skills include speed, recognition, and memorization [prices of things].
The vend is interesting. It updates every 5 seconds or so and isn't instant anymore. You should probably sit on the front page of the vend and keep pressing "First" or "Go" (not too fast, or you'll run into the "Slow down, hotshot" ban).
Remember this: small profits add up. So even if you only make 100g off a sale, if you make those sales 10 times, you have made 1k. I would suggest buying popular items for faster sales. If you want to take a while in a sale, you can go for the less popular items (g-bots, tiaras, damascus armor, momos) but I wouldn't suggest buying these unless they're a couple thousand under the regular price.
Have you password copied! This way, when you make it to the confirm screen, you can ctrl+v that sucker in and press go or enter. Whichever makes you faster.
Helpful Hints: -Press F11 to make your browser full screen. You can see more this way. -Instead of pressing "Go," press "First." For some reason, it's a little faster. -Watch the price of things/know the price of things. This one actually takes time to get used to...but after months of vending, I've developed almost a database in my mind that knows the prices of most...but perhaps not all commons...but for the most part.
Some good items to buy/sell: 1. Fairy Wings. Okay, so you need around 40k to do this...but if you can snag a pair for 38k or less, I can almost guarantee it will sell if you put it up for 39k. They're pretty good sellers. 2. POPULAR donation items. Katanas, halos, orly hat, CN scarves...all of those are in high demand. Buy/sell...buy/sell. 3. Anything mispriced or underpriced. 4. COMMONS. I know you guys hate those people, but you can sell pretty close to the store price...maybe a few hundred under it.

Hoarding This one is pretty simple. You buy a bunch of popular DONATION items (maybe some event items, which I know some of you already do...looking at you, Kin) and let them sit...and sit and sit. Let inflation and inflationists take its/their course.
Do not hoard things like: - Commons - G-shades or other current unpopular event items - Ice Tiaras - Fox Minks - Gauntlets - Damascus Armor
So basically, watch for what donation items are popular, hoard when you can, and watch their value go up.
Your best bet is to wait until sealed letters open. That's probably one of the best times to hoard items. Everyone wants the new items, so they will sell all their old for the new...which floods the market and creates a ton of competition with sellers, so they keep undercutting eachother making the price of things drop. Watch out though, they'll start going up after a few weeks though.
When to hoard new donation items: You want to hoard the current month's donation items a week or so before the end of the month...BUT only if they are a POPULAR item. Generally, you can go into SF or GCD to judge that. Also, watch their vend price.
This month, for example, right at this moment that I am typing this, the donation items have stabled out at about 10.5 - 12k a piece. That means they're POPULAR. If the item drops to <7k, then SELL YOUR s**t. They're not so popular. I would wait until this month's items reach maybe 8 - 9k before grabbing some to hoard.
I will update these as I think of more ideas.
