This thread is created as a guide for all Sith regarding training.
PostPosted: Wed May 25, 2005 11:05 pm

Training Guide

1. First of all, this should be turn based. If you have two Younglings then I would suggest, having them take turns while practicing or train one on one.

2. You must teach your Younglings the basic powers of the Force in this order: Sense, Control and Alter. This is from easiest to hardest. They must master these first before they can petition for specific powers and even then you must decide if they are ready for the responsibility.

3. Create your own training thread. You make this thread a location or just a place to meet to roleplay training. This can be seperate from you introduction thread.

4. More rules will be made as the guild progresses.

Standard Rules

The Point System

1. This Roleplaying Game will be based on a point system. That means that the more points you have, the higher the rank you are. You must reach a certain point system in order to become the next rank.

2. Points will be arranged by each difficulty level:

Very Easy: 5 points

Easy: 10

Moderate: 20

Difficult: 30

Very Difficult: 40

Heroic: 50+

3. Mastery will depend on how easy the skill is easy to learn. For example, mastery in magnifying senses is Very Easy, so you only need five experience points to use it successfully.

Some skills however, start at Easy, Moderate, Difficult, Very Difficult, and Heroic. So in order to master these skills you need the bare minimum of points as stated in rule #2.

4. There are different levels of Mastery some of the skills. Check the Sith Powers list to find out what different kinds of powers you can gain as you get more experience.

5. You may move onto training in other powers under two conditions:

A. You have all the prerequisite powers.

B. Your prerequisite powers are high enough to begin training. For example, Reduced Injury starts as a moderate skill and has the prerequisite for Control Pain. Your Control Pain must be up to moderate experience in order to start training in Reduced Injury.

C. The type of power is specified in your rank.

6. All Younglings start out with five points. You may place them in either Sense or Control, however, you must have at least one point to start out with in each catergory.

7. You will only need a Master to help you with the first five points of your skill. The rest is up to you to train. I would suggest doing this in your own training thread. I will try to check all threads everyday. If you have been training and haven't seen a comment from me or another Master giving you experience points, then go ahead and PM me.

The points given out are determined by the trainer and by the level of difficulty for a task. I would suggest at least 1-5 rounds for each point given out. Training takes a long time and though it is hard, it is worth it.

Also, if a task is particularly difficult and takes awhile to complete, the trainer may give out more experience points than previously planned.

Battle Experience

1. When you fight battles you can gain points in speciific powers that you use.

A. If you are still working on a power and have not mastered it yet, the point will go directly towards your power skill points.

B. If you have mastered the power that you are using, then that power will gain additional +points. That means that you can have more points than just those that are given for mastery. This is the idea that just because you have mastered something, it doesn't mean that there are still other people that are bettter than you. This way, you can more points in a skill than others and have better chance of winning battles.

Rules for Younglings

1. All Younglings are to master the powers Sense and Control. You will not recieve alter power training at this time.

2. All Younglings can choose powers within Sense or Control. For a combination of powers of Sense and Control, they must petition their Master, who in turn must petition the Council.

3. All Younglings are to train in the following (remember this is the minimum amount of points that you need for the basics):

Control/Concentration (10+ points)
Sense/Magnify Senses (5+ points)
Control Pain (5+ points)
Life Detection (5+ points)
Life Sense (5+ points)
Meditation (no points, but is included in the Concentration portion of your training.)
Lightsaber Combat (20+ points)

Two Regular/Combination powers (which you must petition for)

4. When your Master feels you are ready you will be given a test in the Sith Temple by one of the Dark Council Members.

5. When you are recieved as a Knight in the Sith Temple, then will you be given the right to create your own lightsaber and earn the title of Darth.

6. If for some reason, your Master does not have the skill that you wish to acquire, then you may ask to also study with another Master that has the acquired skills.

Rules for Knights

1. All Knights must complete training as a youngling.

2. Knights will be taken under the wing of a Master. Since a Master maybe busy, it is suggested that you train in your own thread, with the Master granting you points based on what you are training in and how many posts you have made to gain that particular skill.

3. Knights will be required to achieve these objectives to become a Master:

Alter [This is just learning how to use Alter, no power is given for this] (30)

Your Choice of Three Control and Sense powers

One choice of either: Control and Alter or Sense and Alter

4. When your Master decides that you are ready to advance to Master, he will petition the Dark Council and the Dark Council will vote on your ranking. You may also appeal to the Dark Council if you are not assigned a Master.

5. You cannot teach your Younglings a power you do not have. It is in your best interest to learn as many Sense and Control powers as possible.

6. You may have up to two Younglings at a time.

7. When you are recieved as a Master at the Sith Temple, then may you have the rights accorded to a Master Sith.

8. If for some reason, your Master does not have the skill that you wish to acquire, then you may ask to also study with another Master that has the acquired skills.

9. If you take Younglings under your wing, you recieve the same amount of experience points that they do for every skill that you personally train them in. This will make you more power and upkeep your powers.

Rules for Sith Lords/Masters

1. You must have achieved your goals as a Youngling and Knight in order to become a Sith Lord.

2. The council will grant you the right to practice new powers based on the number of your posts, how many people you have recruited and your aptitude of the force.

3. As a Master You are granted the right to practice any of the Sense or Control skills as you please.

4. You may practice the combination skills (Control and Sense, Control and Alter, and Sense and Alter) with the permission of the Dark Council.

5. Control, Alter, Sense Combination skills are to be given permission sparingly, and you must petition the Dark Council to recieve the right to practice them.

6. You may have a combination of four people under you (that is Knights and Younglings) at any given time. You will receive the same amount of experience points in the same skills that you personally teach your students.

7. You cannot teach powers to Knights and Younglings that you do not possess. However, you may refer them to either another Master or Knight that possess these skills.

I Pooped Your Rainbow

PostPosted: Sun May 29, 2005 3:27 pm

So, as a Dark Night I have to master a certain ammount of abilities from the Youngling List again, but it'd be more like "level two" of those abilities, right?

When you talk about making a thread to train in, would we be allowed to train Alone or do we need to train With someone? And then our Master would come in and check on out progress. Right?

I am still slightly confused as for the rules of the Knights. But, yes, this guild is still in it's beginning. ^^; The knights will still need a master to train them. At this time there aren't very many masters taking knights, so I will try to train them myself.

As a knight, you have all the abilities that the younglings have to learn. There is no level two of the abilities. To go from knight to master (which I am), follow the rules for knights.

Making your own training thread means that you make your own thread and can do it alone as long as you keep track of your progress so your master can see. Of course, it is best to train with a master as you can usually learn abilities quicker.

I am still slightly confused as to how the Rulles of the Knights are worded.

Here is the Rules for Knights:

Rules for Knights

1. All Knights must complete training as a youngling.

2. Knights will be taken under the wing of a Master. Since a Master maybe busy, it is suggested that you train in your own thread, with the Master granting you points for every hour that you post what you are training on.

3. Knights will be required to achieve these objectives to become a Master:

Alter (100 points)

Your Choice of one Sense(30 points) and one Control Powers (30 points) (going by the rules of the Younglings)

Your Choice of Three Control and Sense powers(90 points)

One choice of either: Control and Alter or Sense and Alter (30 points)

Points need from Knight to Master: 180+

4. When your Master decides that you are ready to advance to Master, he will petition the Dark Council and the Dark Council will vote on your ranking.

Now. What part is confusing you. Tell me and I might be able to help.

Do we still need 30 points in Sense and Control to move on to a more specific one?

No, you only need the bare minimum. The Sith powers thread will tell you how many points are needed, for example concentration is very easy, so it's on five points to learn. However, lightsaber combat is moderate, so the bare minimum of points that you need on that is 20.
