Xio mounted the stairs leading up to the arena in fashion, one sure foot before the other in a stately and regal manner. Truthfully, all that he did seemed to carry his dignity and pride in grace.
The firebender crossed the entry steps to his starting position with an easy gait, further slow and steady movements. Stopping at the designated point, he turned and faced the opposite end of the arena... waiting for his opponent to arrive with patience and clarity.

From the southern entrance of the field Karthan made his entrance. He walked slowly, unperturbed by the low population of people watching the match. Even though it was the second round, with a small bit more than half of the original contestants defeated, it still seemed that the rest of the viewers were off watching more interesting bouts.
The announcer yelled out the name of his next victim. Not caring, however, he stood behind the marked spot behind the circle of green earth. He would just wait and see if this man held more of a challenge than the famed bender, Kilsalt of Ten-Thousand Breaths.

Xio made no acknowledgement of his opponent's entry into the battle, just the same as he ignored the spectators and announcer. He didn't need to know the next one's name... it simply didn't matter.
"I will turn everything to ash..."
The youth spoke to no one in particular, muttering beneath hot breath. Right foot slid back, left forward, both laterally positioned. His left arm rose and crooked at the elbow, facing forward, while the right arched over his pate in a scorpion's decadence.
"Come."

Karthan smiled his regular smile, which wasn't so regular of appearance. He stood there, with his black cloak clinging to his thin body. A second later, however, a ruffle of his cloak could be heard and no assassin was left to compliment the sound. He had moved down the field, around the circular green basin, the two small cresent shaped elemental holders, and past another green hole. His body didn't even blur as he went down the arena--thus clearing the distance between the two fighters.
And he stood there, with his back facing the firebender, only a sparse foot between them. Karthan The Dark Knife then let loose a minor chuckle as he store out into the baffled crowd in front of him.

Xio lifted a brow in question before shaking his head. "Tell me you aren't going to be doing that much during the match, it would become very boring and very quickly. If you have blades or offensive bending capabilities, bring them to bear."
As for the firebender, he stamped his foot and flames erupted up and away from him, racing across the ground in an expanding circle out to thirty feet. His opponent moved like the stories he'd heard of ninja, and wouldn't fall prey to like techniques.

Karthan's existance blinked from everyone's sight. He appeared fourty feet away, standing with a lightly charred cloak. It floated behind him, and aptly flew off his slim shoulders.
Then he smiled with his toothy grin, now facing the firebender with his face instead of his back.

Xio reached one hand across from its position and also unfastened his cloak, tossing the burnt garment away from his form with alacrity. It was time to stop hiding who and what he was, and it was time he stopped playing around in this tournament.
The Sanada Clan symbol emblazoned across his armor gave away instantly just who he was... but more alluring were the four swords across his back. Two were parallel to one another in crimson sheaths... the second pair ending in golden hilts and sealed thrice-over with sutras bore black and white sheaths. The Sanada Clan Artifacts, armor and blades...
The raven-haired young man motioned placidly to his opponent. "Come."

Karthan chuckled. His deep and blackened eye sockets stared forth at the armored Sanada. A ransom for such a child would be plentiful, he thought, as his right hand went to his small leather belt. Then the man chuckled once more, letting his right hand go limp at his side.
It would be more fun if he just made his opponent 'give up' through exhaustion. So, with that thought in mind, The Dark Knife began to walk foward toward the placid teenager.

Xio watched Karthan like a bird of prey, the experienced and prodigal swordsman's well-adapted senses giving him some insight to his opponent's movements based on motion correlation. For the time, he simply waited on the enemy, waiting for the man to finally grow a backbone and strike at him openly in combat.

Karthan smiled, as he continued to walk forward. His bleach white face shone against the colour of the sorroundings. His eyes were are peace, serenely gazing upon the firebender.
The crowd then began to boo at the two fighters.

The young swordsman ignored the crowd, merely taking the time to build up his heat, replenish his stamina. His opponent was either ignorant, foolish, or very crafty to give Xio this much time... then again, it was likely a mixture of all three - the thought didn't escape the firebending nobleborn, and he made ready to counter any sudden assault.

((Sorry for the delay. Internet has been out.))
The assassin flashed from existance again, and this time without the added sound of his cloak flapping behind him. He appeared behind his opponent, knees bent and pushing himself toward Xio's back.
Fists raised the man punched at the back of the armor.
In the previous match, against Kisalt, Karthan had smashed the pauldron of his opponent. With only a knife against a well crafted armor plate, the plate had been smashed into several hundred shards. So with his lone fist it would atleast dent, or better yet: pierce, the armor of his opponent.

Xio was expecting this, but hadn't the measure of the man's attack speed at first. He knelt forward and thrust himself violently in the opposite direction that the punch first connected upon his armor against... weakening the blow. The armor was unscathed, the Sanada artifact resolute through ceaseless wars and assassination attempts... the relics of his clan were part of their reason for banishment - their superiors viewed the proud family as a possible threat.
Just as Karthan's fist connected with the reinforced armor, flame erupted around the assassin's hand... and would likely travel up his clothes, encasing him in immolating flames if he didn't do something about it.
Xio himself spun on the spot and dropped down into ready stance, hands on the hilts of his ancient blades.

"It's time." Karthan stopped his punch mid way. He then disappeared to the crowd's amazement. All that remained of the man's existence was the assassin's cloak, which then also disappeared.
After several moments the referee walks onto the battleground. He raised a red flag to signal that the winner had won through a ring-out.
