well i think they are...cause 1.junkos hair is black and puffy and shes always mad and says girl!2.kyouskes laid back like only a black guy would b,and he has corn roles

What I always heared is no they are not black. THe are 100% Japanese. They are just from a different region and their skin tone is darker.

but i n the show they have a little bit darker skin tone then the nanas and there can b black asinas like in the black eyed pease theres a memeber that has a mohake and looks black but hes 100 percent asion!

I also posted this on the double one but yeah.
1. Alotta people have dreadlocks in Japan. I mean it's a counrty of helluh diverse looks. Anything goes. And I see them everywhere whenever I go.
2. Southern Japan is most likely the reason why they have a darker skint tone.
3. All the language and stuff just gets screwed up and messed when people translate things. Junko doesn't actually say "girl" or talk like the stereotypical black person.
Actually Nana doesn't speak like a Valley girl so much either... sweatdrop

I wondered the same thing but realized later that that isn't important to the story. In the manga, they are portrayed with "black features" but just because one has puffy hair and says 'Girl!' doesn't mean they're black. There are a lot of white people with puffy hair that say 'Girl!' ... also, black culture influences a lot of younger generations from all over the world. Perhaps Junko and Kyouske have been influenced by black culture... but not necessarily black.
And like Mio-chan-daccha said, a lot of people have dreads in Japan.
